Therapy Session #2
03:29, 5 August 2024Aphmau's POV:
I wake up in the morning to see a snoring Alina almost completely cover in blanket. I turned around to see Aaron sleeping on a bean bag, taking up as much space as he could on it. I smiled to myself and woke them both up gingerly.
"Guys, it's time to get up." I said softly. Alina slowly opened her eyes and looked up at me with a big grin.
"IT WORKED!! YAY!!" Alina jumped out of bed and started dancing on the floor. Aaron was startled by the sudden scream, and he immediately woke up.
"I'm up! What happened?" He shot up.
"Don't worry Aaron, Aline is just a little excited. Alina continued to dance until she looked Aaron into the eyes as he arose from his sleeping position on his bean bag. She seemed scared.
"Alina, what's wrong?" She ran up to me and hid behind my back.
"That's the scary guy, remember?" That's when I remembered in her world, there was another Aaron. He was trying to kill her. That's probably why she's so scared.
"It's okay, Alina. He won't hurt you, I promise."
"I still don't know what's going on." Aaron said.
"I'll do all the explaining when we leave for the therapy session- wait! Who's gonna watch Alina?!" I asked in a panic. I almost completely forgot that I had the therapy session, and now Alina is here! Do we bring her? But how am I gonna explain this to Zack and Ein? Maybe a baby-sitter? Who would I call?
"Maybe we could ask KC. I know she's really good with kids." Aaron suggested. Well, I'd still have to explain this to her. At least it will be easier than bringing her with me. They would think I'm crazy! I mean, Kawaii~Chan might think that too, but at least I know she'd try to hide that from me. I wouldn't even be able to tell. I agreed with Aaron and Melissa came in the room to check on us.
"Are you guys okay? I heard a scream." Melissa asked.
"Yep! All good!" I said, in the middle of sliding myself into my wheelchair. Melissa noticed Alina hiding behind me. She looked shocked for just a moment, but then went to a more normal expression, remembering what had occurred yesterday.
"Now, ya care to explain?" Melissa asked, tapping her foot and gesturing to Alina, who was still hiding behind me.
"I'll explain when we're in the car, but we need someone to watch Alina. Do you think we could bring her to Kawaii~Chan's house before we leave?" I asked.
"We could, but we'd have better luck finding her with Zane. They're probably at his house. If you want, I can take Alina out while you get ready." Melissa offered.
"Alright then." I go back to my closet and start getting dressed when I hear another tiny squeak. For a moment I thought it was Alina, but that squeak was all too familiar for me to not know who it was.
"For the last time, I'm not talking to you until you help Aaron!" I yelled at Woof, who was hovering over me on a shelf.
"And I literally can't help Aaron until I help you! Just work with me!" She yelled back.
"How did you even get in here?!"
"Aaron brought me from his room when he heard you fell asleep. NOW BACK TO THE SUBJECT!!" Woof continued to yell. I decided my best bet was to just ignore her, get dressed, and leave her in the closet. And that's exactly what I did. I got dressed and slammed the door behind me. I could hear her muffled voice behind the door.
"You better make up your mind if you want me to help Aaron! Stop being so stubborn!!" I left her in there and exited the room. I saw Alina patiently waiting for me at the bottom of the stairs, and Melissa came back up to help me down. Once I reached the bottom of the stairs, Alina pounced on me and gave me a tight squeeze we call hugs.
"Momma!" She hugged me tighter. I hugged her back and e were off to Zane's house.
"Okay Alina, I'm gonna have Kawaii~Chan watch you for today. Is that okay?" I asked gently, hoping she would be okay with it.
"Yay! Me and Auntie Kawaii~Chan can make cakes together!" She sounded pleased with my decision. I held her on my lap the whole way across the street and rang Zane's doorbell. Zane answered, and was surprised to see a child sitting on my lap.
"Hey guys! What's with the kid?" Alina looked scared again. Maybe Zane was evil in her world, too. How many of my friends are so bad that they make my alternate dimensional kid want to cry?
"Hey Zane. Is KC with you?" I asked.
"Uh, yeah. Why?" Zane questioned.
"I wanted to know if she could watch this little one until I get back from my therapy session for today. It shouldn't be too long, and I don't want her to be alone in the house."
"Oh, sure! Let me just ask her." Zane let us inside for the meantime, and we waited for him or Kawaii~Chan to come back and take Alina. I haven't even dropped her off yet and I'm starting to get nervous. What if she gets too scared to be around Zane? What if KC starts to ask questions to Alina? Maybe I should keep her with me, just in case. Before I could ask Melissa, Aaron puts his hand on my shoulder.
"I can tell you're getting nervous. I may not be able to see you yet, but I know you and this little one are closer than I think. She'll be okay." He said. And with that, I felt at ease knowing Alina would be alright. Kawaii~Chan came back to take Alina from me. I still felt nervous, but I knew as long as Alina was happy she'd be okay. We left for the doctors office, and as we did so I explained everything, with every ounce of information I could put in words. The only thing I didn't say was that Blaze told me the world was literally about to end.
"So she's from another dimension, and she's been in your head this whole time?" Melissa asked curiously.
"Yes. I know it sounds weird, but it's true." I concluded.
"...Blaze can talk to you?" Melissa asked, with sadness touching her lips.
"Uhm, yeah, but he hasn't for a while. I think it was because of Alina. I was gonna talk to Dottie about it the last time we saw her, but she was really sad, so I didn't want to bring it up. Maybe another time, though." We continued our drive for a few more minutes until we arrived to our destination. We entered, talked with the nice receptionist lady, and hopped into the elevator that sent us to the fourth floor. We exited the elevator and we went into where the receptionist instructed to, where we found Zack- or, Dad, waiting for us.
"Aphmau, Aaron, Melissa! How wonderful to see you all again. Ein will be helping us today, if you guys don't mind. He'll be here in a minute." Zack went to a table to prepare some things and Ein entered the room.
"Oh hey guys! Glad to see you guys again!." Ein had some tools in his hand, and he went to Zack and gave them to him. Dad helps me out of my wheelchair and my body is shocked with pain when I put all my weight on my feet. I was shaking in pain. Dad looked at me wide-eyed. So did Ein. I looked at them confused.
"Y-You're a werewolf?" Ein said shocked. I looked behind me and saw my curled tail flopped downward. I was in a panic. Now what was I supposed to say? I know now that Ein probably didn't care whether or not I was a werewolf, but now he must be so confused.
"I...U-Uhm.." I was too focused on the pain in my legs and too panicked from the situation I was in to speak. Zack quickly dropped it seeing I was nervous, and continued helping me take my real first steps in a year. I can't describe the pain I felt in those moments. It was just almost worse than the day I fought Travis, or Micheal in Travis. I walked for maybe an hour or so before Zack finally put me back in my wheelchair. I sighed in relief and slumped over.
"How are your legs feeling?"
"Like someone set them on fire.." I said weakly. I didn't realize how much that walking took outta me.
"Good, that's normal. Your legs seem to be working perfectly, and there's nothing out of the ordinary with your muscles, so you should be good to go." Dad said.
"Thank you, Doctor Zack." Melissa thanked.
"It was really no trouble, just make sure to let her walk for at least an hour every day. If she does more hours that's even better. But, Aphmau, If you don't mind me asking, why do you have werewolf ears and and a tail?" He asked cautiously. I was nervous to talk about it with Aaron in the room, so I asked for some privacy. I explained the best I could without stuttering, and they understood.
"Please don't tell Aaron, I don't want him to get upset." I pleaded.
"We won't, right Ein?" Zack asked.
"I won't tell a soul!" Ein saluted. I chuckled a little and thanked them both. Zack helped me out of the room and I met up with Aaron and Melissa at the lobby.
"Thank you guys again, I can't tell you how excited I am for the next lesson." I said.
"But I thought you said it hurt?" Ein said.
"Well they still do, but this means I'm one step closer to walking on my own again."
