Ch.24

Colby POV (flashback)

We were on our way home when Sam and I came up with a plan.

We would walk in acting very mad at each other and act like that night away didn't help at all.

Sam would then come to my room later that night and we would hang out then, when everyone least expected it and was asleep.

We were the real masterminds now.————————————————————Katrina POV (next day)

After Corey texted the group chat it got me thinking. Was Solby really back together?

I got out of bed and got myself ready to go talk to Sam.

When I got to his room I knocked on the door before walking in.

He was laying in bed cuddled up against a pillow.

I climbed in next to him and tapped his shoulder.

"Hmmmm Colby?" He asked in a groggy voice stretching in the process.

"No but do you want it to be?" I said and his eyes shot open really fast.

"U-uh no it just came out. Anyways what's up Kat?"

I looked at him suspiciously before saying, "Well I have a video idea for your channel."

He perked up and said, "Ooohhh what is it?"

"Girlfriend vs. Best Friends Challenge." I said waiting to se who's reaction.

He put his thinking face on before turning to me saying, "I'm mad at Colby right now. Why would I want to be in a video with him?" He asked me.

I looked at him in disbelief saying, "Cmon Sam he's still your best friend. Even after everything that's happened."

He looked at me starting to get angry. Damn were they good actors.

"I told you I don't want to film with him. I mean if you want to see us fight the whole video then yeah let's do it." He said sarcastically.

"I thought you'd say that." I said and got up.

"Where are you going?" He asked me.

I turned around and said, "You'll find out soon enough."————————————————————Sam POV

Lying to Kat like this was hard but I had to keep our relationship private from everyone so Brennen wouldn't catch wind of it and try hurting us again.

When she walked out I started to get up to walk to Colby's room when Elton, Devyn, and Corey walked into my room.

"What do you guys want?" I questioned them.

Corey pointed to my bed and said, "Sit."

I obeyed because I knew he'd beat my ass if I didn't.

"Where's Kat?" I asked them.

"Don't worry about her right now, focus on what we're going to be asking." Elton said to me.

I looked at Devyn for answers only to see half full of curiosity and the other half full of pity.

What could they possibly want to ask me?

"Ok Sammy boy explain to me why I heard you and Colby in his room laughing?" Corey said placing his hand on my shoulder.

He was spying on us?

Trying not to let any emotion out and said, "Who said I was ever in there to begin with?"

Corey gave me the look that said, 'Wow you didn't just say that.'

"Your room was empty and I heard your voice in his room Sam. I know you were in there." Corey said.

"What were you doing in there if you're both so mad at each other?" Elton asked me.

My blood started to boil. I was getting angry now.

Trying to keep my anger in check, I said through gritted teeth, "Maybe the hotel wasn't as bad as we said it was."

"Oohhh really so you guys lied to us?" Devyn asked in disbelief.

"It was a little fib. Don't get me wrong I'm still mad at him but we're slowly getting better. I went in his room to talk. We hadn't done that for a while. Is that such a problem?" I asked them.

"No it's not. We're just wondering one thing." Elton said leaving me there dreading what they could possibly be wondering.

"Is Solby back together?" Corey asked.

And there it was ladies and gentlemen. The moment we've all been waiting for. The time where I'm about to lie straight through my teeth.

"No we're just friends."

"Says a person in denial." Devyn said.

They all three got up. Corey turned to me and said, "Thank you for your time," before they all walked out of my room.

I was sitting on my bed sitting there more confused than I've ever been in my life.

Hopefully they don't question Colby, otherwise I don't know how long we'll be able to keep our relationship a secret from them and Brennen.

Had they finally caught onto all of our lies? ————————————————————Colby POV

Yooo these are too good. I was laying in bed looking at solby edits and even reading some solby fan fictions, believe it or not.

All of a sudden more door opens before I could even look at half of my solby stuff and in comes Jake, Kat, and Aaron.

I close my laptop starting to get confused.

"Uhhh what you guys doing?" I asked them.

They all sat near my bed and looked at me.

Kat asked me, "Would you be interested in doing a best friend vs girlfriend video with Sam and I?"

"I highly doubt Sam actually agreed to this. We can't stand to be in the Sam room as each other. So my answer to that is no." I said bluntly. Lies lies lies.

I would actually love to do a video with Sam but I had to pretend we still hated each other so they wouldn't suspect anything.

Jake spoke up and said, "Have you and Sam not made up yet?"

I have Jake my 'duh' face before saying, "No why would we have? I broke his heart if you don't remember." I wasn't lying about breaking his heart, only a little lie about us not making up.

I reminded myself of that time and how much pain I had caused him. Why had he ever forgiven me?

"Corey heard you guys in here last night laughing and from what he could hear, acting all buddy buddy." Aaron stared.

What the hell? Corey had been spying on us the whole time? I thought everyone was asleep.

"He came in here to talk to me about a video idea, nothing more." I said to them all.

"Then why did Corey hear laughing?" Kat asked me.

"Why all the questions?" I asked looking at them all.

"No reason. Thanks for your corporation." Kat said and all three of them left.

Shortly after I heard a door close, I opened my door and looked around making sure no one would see me.

After making sure the coast was clear, I went to Sam's room to try and get to the bottom of this.

I got inside and Sam was pacing around around his room.

He looked at me in a panic saying, "Did they question you too?"

Oh shit. They must have caught onto our lies.

"Yeah. Did they ask you about you in my room last night?" I asked him back.

"Yeah I told them that the hotel thing worked a bit and I went into your room to talk since we hadn't in a while. Please tell me you said something similar." He said starting to bite his finger nails.

"I told them you care to my room to focus a video idea. Great we're screwed. They're gonna know somethings up." I said to him making my way towards him.

"God dangit." He said sitting down on his bed.

"I'm sorry Sam..." I said starting to get disappointed in myself.

"It's not your fault. I don't know why they make it their business to know what's going on in our personal lives to begin with." Sam said.

With that I hugged him and we laid down together cuddling each other, awaiting what was going to happen next. ————————————————————Corey POV

When Devyn, Elton, and I got out of Sam's room I waved Kat, Jake, and Aaron to Colby's room.

We stood there and waited until they got out of there. 

Luckily, it didn't take long before they came out.

I immediately gestured everyone to follow me and we made our way to my room.

Once everyone was inside I closed their door and got into serious mode.

"Okay Solby shippers, tell me all the tea right this instance." I said pointing at Kat, Jake, and Aaron."

Jake started off with, "Well Colby said no to the video idea as expected saying they still hadn't made up yet. I brought up what you had witnessed and he looked kind of startled at first but then said Sam came in to discuss a video idea with him."

"Hah that's funny because Sam told Elton, Devyn, and I that he went in there to talk and he even said that the hotel was not as bad as they said it was." I said to everyone.

Everyone was in disbelief for a moment before they all started to smile.

We realized they were hiding something all along.

Why else was there two different sides of the same story?

"They have to be on good terms at least." Devyn said.

"I vote they're back together." Elton said.

"We know now they're not mad at each other like they want us to think. They've gotta be hiding something else from us. Something much bigger. Maybe the fact that they're still dating." I said to everyone.

"There's only one way to find out." Jake said.

"Make the video happen." Kat said.

Everyone shook their heads in agreement.

Operation: Find Out If Solby is back together- was a go.
