~Chapter 27~

08:11, 17 January 2014

I nervously tapped my foot against the chair in the airport terminal. This was it; we were on our way to London.

I guess it's nearly every girl's dream to go to London. There's just something special about the place. There's no reason why, it's just... London. And that's reason enough.

I looked around the airport terminal. There were a few people around. An old man, wrapped in a thick coat, obviously readying himself for the cold weather. A mother and her two children, who were happily sitting on the floor playing clapping games together to pass the time. A young man in a business suit, busy on his laptop, a woman texting what I guessed was her boyfriend, judging by the giggles coming from her mouth and the redness of her cheeks. And then there was us. Four famous boys, two girls, all six of us lucky to be in this moment of time.

I looked around at each of the boys.

Michael was playing angry birds on his IPhone, tapping the screen hard and sighing whenever he failed the level. I had come to know Michael over the time we'd spent together, yet I felt like I hardly knew much about him. I knew he liked to talk, and he was passionate about his food, and his guitar, and his video games for sure, but I guess I'd never spent much time just talking to him, I wondered if he knew anything about me... he probably did, but only stuff that Luke had told him.

Calum was having a nap, somehow. (I don't know how, the chairs are incredibly uncomfortable. He'd pulled his grey beanie over his eyes, in an attempt to block out the sunlight streaming through the glass windows of the terminal. Calum was extremely nice, they all were. He messed around with the boys a lot, and liked to challenge Luke all the time, but he was passionate about his bass, and his contribution to the band, writing lots of songs as possibilities for a new EP or even an album.

Ashton was watching Hannah. And when I say watching I mean like actually staring at her, the smile plastered on his face. You could easily see he adored her, and would do anything for her. He was proud. He subconsciously tapped on the arm of the chair, a habit I'd come to notice of late. I think it's just a natural thing that drummers do, they constantly keep the beat.

Hannah was moving to Ashton's beat in the chair beside him, unknowing to the fact that he'd noticed her and was watching her like a hawk. Her smile was bright and lit up her face, and her usually long hair was in a messy bun. I could easily understand why she didn't bother too much with her look today as we'd be sitting on a plane for 20 something hours (I didn't want to know the exact time) but somehow she still managed to look amazing, as usual. Her eyes met mine and she flashed me a smile, before she looked away again and continued dancing, her shoulders and hands moving with the beat Ashton was making.

Sitting next to Hannah was Luke. I don't know if you could call him the love of my life, but he was pretty darn close to it. He was utterly perfect in every way. He had my right hand in his left, I was sure he could feel my excitement and nervousness as it pulsated through my body. His eyes were locked on me, as mine darted around the room to each band member, before returning to his. It was though as, as soon as our eyes met his happiness increased two hundred percent. I don't know how that's possible, but it happened. Luke and I, we'd been through a lot. But our relationship was strong, loving, caring, and hard to break. It was fate we met, but I would never forget the way he looked at me that first day. It's the same way he still looks at me today, and without him I think my life would be a hell of a lot more boring. I wouldn't even be going to London.

Which brings me back to the sixteen year old girl in an airport terminal, shitting herself from excitement and nervousness. She's never been on a plane before. She'd never done a lot of things, like have her first kiss, save someone's life, be stalked, serenaded, or kidnapped. That was until she'd met the person she'd die to be away from. The same girl who had met her best friend not so long ago, which led to her being brought into the life of a band of surprisingly normal teenage boys, who now practically ruled her life. That girl was me.

But this story hasn't ended yet. Sure, there's a happy ending, but we haven't quite finished with the happiness.

I must've started to shake slightly, because Luke squeezed my hand, standing up. The others had stood up too, and were preparing their boarding passes to board the plane. We all went through the gate and down onto the tarmac, before getting into our seats on the plane. Luke gave me the window seat. We fastened our seatbelts and he took my hand again, leant in and brushed the hair from in front of my ear before quietly whispering:

"You don't have to be so scared, and you don't have to go tonight. We just need to hold on tight, for one hell of a ride."

He winked, and I laughed, recognizing the lyrics of 'Forever My Father', a 'Go Radio' song Luke had always loved.

The flight attendants got organized went through the safety procedures for the flight, and then we took off. It was the most amazing feeling, to look out the window and see us flying so high off the ground, until we'd flown above the clouds. The boys had already started to make a bit of noise but I was tired, it was a long flight and there wasn't much to see. I lifted the armrest between Luke and my seat, and rested my head on his shoulder.

He placed my IPod on my lap, headphones already plugged in. it had been in my bag since last night, hadn't it? How did he get it, and what was he doing with it?

"What's this" I asked, sitting up and smiling at Luke as he took it from my lap and placed it in my hands.

"Your IPod. I took it last night to do some stuff... You might wanna put some music on; you won't be able to sleep with this lot being idiots."

I kissed him lightly and placed the earbuds in my ears. When I went into my music, I noticed there was a playlist titled 'Luke

None of the songs were mine. They were all songs I loved, but only when Luke sang them. There were also weirdly titled ones. "Message #1" and so forth. I was confused, but intrigued.

Message one was at the top of the playlist. I pressed on it and it began to play. I expected music but what I got was much better.

"Lexi, Hi. Its Luke here, if you haven't guessed already. I wanted to make you a playlist of songs, all sung by me, so you could listen to them whenever you missed me. I'm sorry I took your IPod last night but I wanted to have this ready for you today. You mean so much to me, and I know these songs all mean so much to you. Listen to them in order, don't shuffle. Enjoy. I love you."

My smile was as wide as the Big Banana at Coffs Harbour as I grinned at Luke, the earbuds still in. A drop in the ocean started playing. Luke's voice had matured, since the covers he'd shown me on his YouTube channel. This was one of my favourites. I laid my head back down on Luke's shoulder; he put his arms around me and pressed kisses to my forehead. I listened to all the songs, nearly in tears the whole time. He was thoughtful, and he'd done something undeniably sweet, something I'd hold onto and love for a long time.

As the last notes of the last song rang out, I drifted into a peaceful, happy sleep.

A/N- How was that? Not much of a chapter, sorry. I don't know. But I wrote this in my free period at school today because I had no homework and there was no one in the courtyard. I sat there typing for the whole period, like a maniac, trying to finish before the bell went, checking the time every two seconds. By the second last paragraph I was so into what I was writing that when the bell went I almost fell off the chair hahahaha. So I almost finished a whole 1500 word chapter in 1 hour, I'm proud :D

I hope you liked it!
