Part 53

00:58, 8 June 2021

Raven POV:

I opened my eyes to light shining way too brightly into them. I closed my eyes immediately, they were not ready for the change in lighting as my eyes stung in pain.

"No, it's too early," I said as I shoved a pillow over my face to get rid of the sunlight. "No it's not," someone said as I felt the pillow being removed over my face and I groaned in protest.

I slowly opened my eyes to adjust to the light and I saw the most gorgeous face looking at me. After I opened my eyes she took a few steps back and I got a full picture of her.

Her curly hair was wet but the curls were more defined and bouncy. She was in a bra and shorts and my jaw dropped at the sight of her. Damn my girlfriend is hot.

"Hey," I said and I couldn't help a smile come over my face. I held out both my arms and she laughed a little. I love her laugh.

She walked towards me and I got excited until she grabbed my hands and moved me off the bed. I have been fooled.

I fake pouted my lips at her and it made her roll her eyes and laugh. There it was again. She still had both my hands in hers and she pulled me closer to her body. She took her hands off mine and placed them on my face before pulling me into a kiss.

She pulled away and I smiled as I looked into her eyes. "Better?" She said and I nodded eagerly, still not being able to drop my smile.

"Go get Clarke while I finish changing," she said as she backed away. "Ugh," I said as I left the room, missing the touch of my girlfriend.

After last night at the bar, Clarke hasn't been doing a whole lot. She stayed in her room all night and didn't speak to anyone. I haven't seen her since she left us last night and I have been kind of worried.

"Clarke?" I said as I opened her door. She was in her bed. I walked over to the window and pulled back the curtain. Light invaded the dark room and I heard Clarke grunt and turn over in the bed. Haha, same.

"Come on Clarke," I said as I hoisted her out of her bed. She just grunted but got up anyway. I went back into my room and Luna had finished changing.

"I think I liked it better before," I said as I leaned at the doorway. She turned around and laughed as she made her way over to me.

She slowly lifted my shirt off my body and kissed my lips. I kissed her back before she pulled away. "Here," she said as she handed me a clean shirt. "You're so annoying," I said as I put on the clean shirt and laughed. I have been fooled. Again.

"Is Clarke ready?" Luna asked. "I don't know," I said with a shrug. "I gave you one job Rae," she said with a laugh. "Yeah, yeah," I said as I walked out and went to Clarke's room. She was done getting ready and we walked down stairs to Luna waiting for us.

"Let's go," She said plainly and we walked out.

Clarke POV:

We got to school and met with our friends as usual. I was leaning up against a tree and Octavia and Lincoln joined the group. "Hey," they said as they walked up to us.

"Hey look," Lincoln said as she pointed somewhere behind me. "Hey Lexa!" She said as she waved. I turned my head and she was walking into the school. She turned to look at everyone and Octavia was waving her to come over to us.

She shot me a look before walking over. "We haven't seen you in so long," Octavia said as she pulled Lexa into a hug that she was clearly uncomfortable with.

"Yeah I'm sorry, I just had some stuff to take care of," she responded lightheartedly. She looked so happy and her face held a nice smile. That was most certainly a change from the emotion I received at the bar.

"I would love to stay but I have to get to class early. I will talk to you guys later," she said with another big smile before walking away. As she turned, she eyed me and I saw the mask of her smiling face fade away before all I could see was her back.

Raven POV:

After Lexa turned around and walked away I realized how fine she looked. She seemed to be completely ok which is weird considering all that happened. I looked to Clarke and she was still leaning against the tree. I could see she was lost in her thoughts and she was looking down at the ground.

I nudged Luna a little until she saw Clarke. She had the same look on her face I can assume I had on my face. I was worried about her.

The bell rang and we all went to class. Clarke usually walks with us but she walked off without saying anything to us.

I grabbed Luna's hand as we walked until we got to my class. We separated and I went into my class. As the teacher was calling out attendance she stops on a name.

"Clarke Griffin," the teacher says and I was waiting for the cheerful voice that says 'here' but no voice came. I looked around to the seat she usually sits at. Empty. Clarke isn't one to miss school or classes without a reason so I was kind of worried about that. I'm just worried about her in general.

She was just here, where the hell did she go. "Clarke Griffin?" The teacher said again and nobody answered again. "Ok then," The teacher said before moving on. What is going on with Clarke?

After class was over I walked out of the room and Luna was waiting for me. "Have you seen Clarke?" I said as I walked up to her. "Uh, no. Don't you have class with her?" She asked like it was obvious. "Yes but she didn't come to class," I said and was beginning to panic a little.

"She's probably fine but let's go look for her anyways," she said as we walked down the hall.

"What the hell Clarke," I said to myself. We looked everywhere. We walked through all the halls and she wasn't there. We checked all the bathrooms and she wasn't there. We walked outside the school and down to the track and she wasn't there. Her car was still here so she didn't leave but she was nowhere to be found.

"Where else could she have gone?" Luna asked. I was trying to think but no other place came to mind. Something else did though.

"Hold on," I said as I stopped walking. I walked in the opposite direction of Luna. "Where are you going?" She asked as she followed me. "There is someone we can ask," I said as I continued to walk.

Lexa POV:

I was sitting on a bench with earbuds in. My bag was next to me and my legs were criss cross on the seat. I heard muffled talking from all the students around me through the music playing but I ignored it until I felt a hand touch my shoulder.

I jumped up and pushed them away from me before I realized who it was.

"Sorry Luna," I said as I took the earbuds out of my ears. "Yeah whatever," she mumbled back in a grunt. "Do you need something?" I questioned as I sat back down, looking at Raven for an answer.

"Uh, have you seen Clarke?" Raven asked and my head shot up. "No, is everything ok?" I said with worry. I was worried. Clarke cared about school and if Raven didn't know where she is, something might be wrong.

"I don't know," Raven responded. I squinted my eyes a little and looked between Raven and Luna. "Is Clarke ok?" I said, trying to get a better answer.

"Yes, we just can't find her, she didn't come to class and we have searched pretty much the whole school," Raven said and I could hear the worry in her voice as well.

"Did you check the art room?" I asked. That would've been the first place I looked.

Raven and Luna both looked at me weird and then to each other. "Why would she be there?" Luna asked and I scoffed at her answer. Did they know anything about Clarke.

I stood up and grabbed my bag. "Come on," I said and they followed behind me.

They followed behind me until we got to the room. "There," I said as I pointed through the window to the blonde girl standing with her back to us. She had her hands spread out over a table and she was looking down at something. "Thanks Lex," Raven said with a relieved sigh as she went to the door.

I didn't go in. I don't think she wants to see me at the moment but I watched from the window.

Raven POV:

"Thanks Lex," I said to her before I quickly walked into the room. The fact that she knew exactly where Clarke would be just proved more how perfect they are for each other. "Clarke," I said softly as I got into the room.

She slowly turned her head in my direction. She was standing, looking over some painting that was laid out on the table. "You didn't come to class, I was worried," I said as I got closer to her.

She looked down at the artwork again. "It's all wrong," she muttered to herself. "What?" I asked as I looked at her confused. "It's not right," she muttered again, but I was still beyond confused.

"Can you hand me that?" She said as she pointed over to a paintbrush. "Sure," I said as I gave it to her. I was still very confused by her actions but just going along with it.

"Do you see this?" She said as she pointed to the painting. "Uh," I said as I looked at it. "Yeah," I said but I lied. I had know idea what she meant. She was pointing to the middle of an eye. The artwork was a large view of green eyes.

It was actually really good, really detailed, but kind of random. I can't believe she drew this though, it's beautiful.

"It's wrong," she said. I don't think she is ok. I looked back and Luna was standing in the doorway and she shrugged. Something is not ok with Clarke.

"They should be darker," she said as she dipped the paint brush in a darker green. The yellow around the center has grown darker. As she did it, the eyes grew deeper, like they were staring at me.

"I got it all wrong," she said as she began to repaint the artwork.

"What the hell are you talking about Clarke?" I finally said as I took a step back, looking at her with crazy eyes. "I thought I knew them perfectly but I was wrong," she said and she stopped painting.

"That's better," she said as she put the paint brush away. "It looks the same Clarke," I said a little annoyed. My friend is insane.

"No it doesn't," she said as she looked more satisfied at the painting. "Whatever you say," I said sarcastically as I crossed my arms.

"Do you need something Rae?" She said as she finally turned away from the table. "Yeah, why weren't you in class?" I asked.

"Uh, I couldn't concentrate," she said with a shrug. "Well we looked everywhere for you," I said and Luna walked over to stand behind me.

"Then how did you know I was here?" She asked and I looked to Luna. "Lexa said you would probably be here," Luna said. She looked down and I could see the smile on her face.

"Well are you done here or do you need to paint more?" I said and she looked back to the painting on the table.

"I'm good for now," she said with a smile at the painting and we walked out of the room.

Lexa POV:

I saw Clarke and Raven talking through the window but I couldn't hear anything they were saying. I walked away quickly soon after because it looked like they were about to leave.

I didn't want to go to class. I don't even know why I came to school in the first place. It's useless.

I was walking in a bit of a hurry to get away from the room and when I turned the corner I ran into someone. Shit.

They ran straight into my arm and I could feel the sharp pain shoot down it all the way to my hand. I slouched down because for some reason it felt like the lower my arm was to the floor, the less painful it would be. Gravity right?

Wrong.

"Watch it bitch," he spat as he bent down to get his phone that he dropped. I started to laugh because he actually said that to me. To me.

"What's so funny?" He snapped back, looking up at me with disgust. "You must be new here," I said with a chuckle.

"What about it?" He snapped back. The attitude and audacity of this guy. Jeez. "Because people don't usually talk to me like that," I said as I stood all the way up to my actual height. I was about the same height as him and I could see fear go over his face for a brief second.

"Really?" He said, trying to challenge me but I wasn't going to back down. "Really," I said back in a plain tone.

"Maybe it's because you're a weak girl and they know you can't defend yourself," he said as he scanned over my body. I chuckled again. "Try me," I said and I saw him get angrier.

I dropped my bag and stepped closer to him. Now I wait. They always do this. They get worked up and have the need to throw the first punch. I saw it in his face. His fists balled up at his sides, his body moved back a his arm to create momentum to throw his punch.

I ducked out of the way and he stumbled a little past me.

"What's your name?" I said after he stood back up straight. "Why?" He said in anger as he threw two more punches. One from the left and then right. I ducked under the first one and blocked the second one with my good hand.

"Just curious who I am beating up," I said with a shrug. His anger level kept rising but I stayed calm.

"Roan," he said before throwing yet another punch. You would think they would learn. I caught his one in my hand and twisted it around so his knees bent down.

They didn't go all the way to the ground but they bent in the direction I twist his arm. I lifted my leg up and kicked him in the chest so he was sent across the floor. People actually had to move out of they way to they wouldn't be hit by him.

"You done yet Roan?" I teased as I called after him. He took a minute to get off the ground. "No way," he said as he got back up and walked closer to me. I hate people. They never know when to give up.

He swung his right hand in a punch and out of instinct, I put my left arm up to block it. I forgot that it was my damaged arm and when he hit it I grunted out in pain. I could see the smug look on his face as he watched me hiss in pain.

He smirked and hit that side again. Because I was compensating for my hurt arm, when he took another swing from my good side, I wasn't there to stop him. He hit me and I was thrown back into the wall.

I stayed there as he slowly approached me. "Maybe I should get your name instead," he teased with a smug look as he got closer. I smirked at him as I used my hand to wipe the blood of my lip.

He got closer and I stayed in my position. I was waiting for him to get closer. He finally got close enough. He didn't throw another punch but he put him face closer to mine to taunt me. Like he somehow had the upper hand.

I looked away form his face for a moment so he couldn't read what I was about to do. I don't think he was smart enough to read it but I just had to be sure.

I tilted my head back before shoving it into his face. It disoriented him and knocked him backwards as he put his hands over his nose as blood started to come out. I kicked the back of his knees so he fell to the ground then kicked his chest so his back hit the floor.

I walked over and looked down at his sad, pathetic body on the floor. "Welcome to school Roan," I said as I walked away.

I grabbed my bag and threw it over my shoulder. As I walked away I had to push through the crowd of people that were watching me and Roan fight.

I had to get out of there, my arm was in so much pain that I could barely move it. I got away from the crowd of people and went into the locker room. Nobody would be in there because it was in the middle of the day.

I set my bag down on the floor and sat down on the bench in the middle of the locker room. My arm was killing me, I was in so much pain I couldn't move my fingers.

I heard the door open and then shut and I turned around. I don't have the energy to fight anymore and my arm was throbbing.

"What did you do?" Clarke said as she leaned her back against the door.

"I won," I mumbled to myself as I got off my guard and sat back down. "Not that dummy, what did you do to your arm?" She said as she walked over to me. I looked down at my arm that barely had any movement.

"How did you know?" I said as I looked back up at her. "You didn't throw a single punch with that arm. You didn't let him hit you and when he did, I could see the pain in your eyes," she said as she got closer to where I was seated. I smiled at her answer.

"May I?" She said as she sat down next to me and held her hand towards my arm. I nodded and lightly moved my arm closer to her. She delicately touched my arm and more pain seeped through my body. I scrunched up my face and turned my head away and she inspected my arm.

"You will need an x-ray, I can't see the damage but it looks bad," she said as she let go of my arm. "I'm good," I said firmly as I looked back at her.

"No Lexa, you're not," she said and I turned my whole body to face hers now. "How would you know?" I scoffed.

"That's exactly my point. You ran away and now you need help and you won't let me," she said. She got angrier and stood up. "I don't need you to help me," I said as I kept my cool.

"Apparently you do because you got injured, again, and I am the only one who is helping," she said as she paced. "I don't want your help," I said, still seated. "Well why not?" She said angrily as she crossed her arms.

"Because, the more you are around me, when you have to help me, over and over again, it puts you right in the middle of my darkness." I said as I stood up. I was getting a little angry now. I wanted her to understand.

"That was my choice," she said, the anger leaving her body a little, her tone changing to caring. "No it wasn't. You were the only one around, you were the only one I had so you were forced into that position. It was my fault," I said and she went quiet.

"Do you remember who you were before you met me Clarke?" I asked and she picked her head up a little to think but she didn't respond.

"Do you think that you before would be so unfazed by being kidnapped, held at gunpoint and almost dying?" I said and she looked at the ground.

"I watched you tell Raven and Luna what happened that night. They cried and gasped and were utterly terrified and you, you were numb to it. Like it didn't have any effect on you. Just like me. That's not who you used to be, I sucked you into my darkness and it changed you Clarke," I said and her eyes remained on the floor. She knew I was right.

We sat in silence for a moment before Clarke picked her head up. She had tears in her eyes. "You didn't make me numb to it Lexa," she said and I looked at her, not speaking.

"You made me stronger. You made me see that I was safe when you were around. That night when there was a gun to my head, sure, I was scared. But I also knew you were there to protect me and keep me safe. You make me stronger," she said as she stepped closer to me. Now it was my turn to go quiet and look at the floor.

"So can you honestly tell me Clarke, with all the secrets, the lies, the danger, that your life now is better than your life before you met me?" I said and she took a pause. She went to say something but she was interrupted.

"Lexa Woods please report to the principal's office, Lexa Woods please report to the principal's office," a voice on the intercom said.
