Chapter 16
19:47, 21 March 2015The dinner was flawless, Adam chose some romantic Italian restaurant most likely to hear me speak Italian again. We had a secluded table on the balcony, the whole atmosphere was beautiful with classic Italian style music playing softly. It was beautiful. Adam had cleaned up, wearing almost a suit and I wore a cute little silver dress that hugged my body in all the right places. It definitely got Adam’s attention. The meal itself was just so good, Adam overplayed it and liked to make moaning noises throughout the meal, which I suppose was pay-back for the dress. And a few pictures found their way online and in magazines, which although not ideal, was sowing the seeds of announcing our relationship. Adam couldn’t wait.
“We need to go, they said they can air the episode early if we can film it before the end of the day.” Adam hurried me along, he had chosen todays dress and it was pretty cute. A little lace white dress with ¾ length sleeves, that fell to about my mid-thigh with an open back. It looked great, Adam also looked amazing. Although he rarely doesn’t look good.
“Sorry babe.” I smiled at him, he was getting stressed out but he hid it very well. I followed him out to the car and we started off in silence, before I finally caved and put the stereo on. Both of us were singing along, our stomachs hurt we were laughing so much. I let him lead me into the studio, his hand holding mine tight.
“My favourite guy ever!” Ellen cheered, pulling Adam into a hug. “And a friend. Who is a girl.” She hugged me too.
“This is my girlfriend. The reason we wanted to be on the show.” Adam informed her.
“Ah, that is adorable. She is a stunner Adam. How do you do it?”
“Portia won’t be happy.” Adam teased.
“Zip it shrimpy. Come on, a quick set up and we can get your interview out of the way. I’m thinking impromptu cat walk, where you kiss the model. Announced.”
“Love it.”
“Does she speak?” Ellen looked at me strangely.
“Yeah sorry, Amelia Valentine. It’s just, Dory is my favourite Nemo character and you know, you are Dory.” I summed up with an awkward smile. They were talking so fast, in a language that was barely English and I was just a little lost and a little confused.
“Forgiven. Already.” She smiled. “Cat walk first. Then we can have the interview after.”
They wanted to surprise Adam. And as soon as those words left her mouth I knew what she wanted.
“Underwear.” She looked at me expectantly.
“You want me to walk out there in my undies?”
“Yes I do. Yes he does. It’ll be classic. His face will be priceless.” Ellen was right about that.
“I don’t know about it.” I replied awkwardly, but I know it would make the two of them laugh and I’m sure Teo will think its good press so there seems no reason not to, I wish I could use Teo as an excuse but I know he’d tell me to do it. “But, I have something that’ll jazz it up a little.” I whispered it into her ear and her face lit up.
“Oh man, I knew I had a good feeling about you.” We hurried off to our places, I got undressed for the cat walk and Ellen went to start a quick interview with Adam.
“So, Adam, how’s everything been going?”
“Really great thanks, I’ve missed you Ellen.” He sure can play the crowd, who oohed and ahhed at his ‘cuteness’.
“And I’ve missed you. I know that you are filming a new season of The Voice right now, anything you can say?” She asked.
“It’s going really great, the talent there is unbelievable and I find myself being blown away every time. No matter who I think is the best, someone will raise the bar. But being back with the other coaches is great, I’ve missed them. Less so Blake.” They laughed, thinking it was an insult. “BECAUSE I’ve been seeing him on the breaks. He’s one of my best mates, so we like to spend time together.” He was practically shouting to be heard over the laughing, but they fell silent when they realised he had been talking.
“Now. I wanted to surprise Adam here, what do we think ladies and gents?” Ellen asked, the crowd roared in response and it sounded positive. “Alright then. Turn down the lights.” They focused on the area in front of me. “And welcome, our new guest.” And that was my cue. Moves Like Jagger started playing and I tried not to laugh at Ellen’s curve ball. I walked down the catwalk like a pro, which is good because I was one. The way we were getting to Adam; over the underwear was his leather jacket. And he definitely liked it. I was wearing heels as well and felt a little like a stripper, but Adam was making up for all that. I struck a pose at the end with a smile and was about to turn and leave when Adam attacked me. His lips landing on mine as he pulled me closer to him.
“Damn. I was looking for that jacket.” He murmured.
“You want it back?”
“Defiantly not. Looks better on you.” He chuckled, pressing another kiss to my lips. “Ladies and gents, my girlfriend AMELIA VALENTINE!”
“Now, if you don’t mind. I’d like to put some clothes on.” I pushed Adam over to Ellen and walked backstage again. I think I heard Adam say something along the lines of ‘do you have to?’ but I ignored him. It didn’t take long to pull the dress on over the top, I carried the jacket in and threw it at Adam who just laughed.
“Alright then, so how long have you two been together?” Ellen asked.
“A month or so.” Adam replied.
“And I’m sure what we all want to know, is more about you Amelia. What can you tell us?”
“Yeah Lee. Tell us more.” Adam teased.
“Well, my brother is James Valentine, Adam’s band mate. He kind kept us apart for a long time because Adam is such a womaniser, but when Adam was ill and they had to go do a promo tour he begged me to keep an eye on him. I couldn’t say no. In the time me and Adam spent together we fell for each other. We had to keep it quiet for a while, because James gets a little protective.” Adam chuckled at this.
“Yeah, he’s not a fan of my romantic history.” He winced. “Honestly. Neither am I.” I dropped my hand to his leg and gave a comforting squeeze. He has so many insecurities that no one even notices, but I do and I’m just so thankful he doesn’t shut me out.
“Then we told him and the guys, Adam introduced me to some of his friends and I’m modelling his clothing line.” I summed up.
“I would give her a record deal too if it wasn’t for those damn morals.” Adam rolled his eyes at me. “She is amazing. And I am beyond lucky to have someone like her in my life.”
“God. You two are adorable.” Ellen cooed. “What do you have to say about him?”
“Pain in my ass. Wouldn’t change him for the world. He has been nothing short of amazing, we are very alike and I would honestly be happy just being near him.”
“I love you.” Adam blurted, a goofy grin on his face.
“And I love you.” I smiled, pulling him into a kiss. Yeah, I think I could get used to this very quickly.
