Chapter 2

01:48, 5 August 2023

I woke in the morning when sunrays were on my face. I scrunched my eyes and pulled the covers over my head. Slowly I felt my cover being pulled off me. I instantly jolted awake. When I opened my eyes, I was greeted by smiling Terry holding the cover in his hand, "Rise and shine sleeping beauty." I groaned and threw my head back into the pillow. Terry pulled the pillow under my head and smacked me in the face with it. "Wake up, Lana!" he shouted.

"No," I groaned tucking my hands under my head.

"You won't wake up?"

"Nope," I replied popping the p. I heard his footsteps receding. As I was about to head back to sleep, I felt cold water thrown on my face. I screeched and wiped my eyes. Terry laughed while holding the empty cup in his hand.

"You little asshole!" I yelled. "Come here, you piece of shit!" I grabbed the pillow on the floor and smacked him in the face with it. "Oh! Oh! Pillow fight!" He shouted before grabbing another pillow. We fought until we both ran out of breath. I threw myself on the bed facing down. Terry ruffled my hair, "Come on, Lana. Breakfast is ready."

After he left my room, I went to the master bathroom to get ready. I did another line of dope before heading downstairs. I wore casual clothes and walked downstairs to be greeted with the smell of eggs, toast, and coffee. Terry was sitting at the big table, signing papers. I took a seat next to him grabbing the coffee and a toast.

"So, are we proceeding with your plan today?" I talked with toast in my mouth. Terry put down the pen turning his full attention to me. He intertwined his fingers in his lap leaning back into the chair, "Yes we are. We first are going to see Danny boy and inform him of 'John's death'." I nodded taking a drink from my coffee.

"Sounds good," I said finishing my coffee.

"Have you got a chance to talk to John yet?"

"No, I have not," I answered honestly. He nodded. He took a last sip of his coffee finishing it before standing up and stretching me a hand, "Let's go, m'lady," he said smiling. I smiled taking his hand. We walked outside and I saw a light blue truck sitting in the driveway. He ran up to the truck and opened the passenger door for me, "Ladies first." I giggled childishly before getting in.

As we were driving to the karate studio, I felt the LA heat getting to me. When we parked at the karate dojo, Terry turned off the engine he glanced at me before looking back at me quickly.

"What's wrong? Is my hair ruined?" I asked frantically fixing my hair. He pointed at my nose, "Your nose is bleeding." I touched my upper lip with the tip of my fingertips feeling the warm liquid. I looked at my fingertips seeing the blood, "Shit. Do you have anything to wipe it off with?" Terry was zoned out for a bit before pulling a handkerchief out of his pocket. I was about to take it from him, but he told me to lean my head back. I did as he said and leaned back as he gently cleaned off the blood. I attempted to observe his blue eyes, but they were dilated...

"Okay! All done!" I sniffed. He smiled at me. I smiled back.

"Okay, just follow my lead." I nodded before getting off with him. He opened the gate for me and we entered the dojo together side by side. My eyes caught an old man practicing kata with a young boy which I'm guessing he is the 'Danny boy' Terry keeps mentioning.

"Excuse me!" Terry shouted to get their attention. They turned around, "Mr. Miyagi?"

"Hai," greeted the old man who I'm guessing is Mr. Miyagi.

Terry and I approached Mr. Miyagi and Danny Boy, "My name is Terry Silver. My master is Kim Sun-Yung of South Korea. My teacher sends his respects," we bowed. "John Kreese of Cobra Kai dojo was our school's number-one student. Word reached us in Korea only two months ago about what happened last year at the tournament. My teacher sends his apologies for John Kreese's dishonorable actions," we bowed again.

"Accept apology," said Mr. Miyagi.

"We were sent here to help John regain balance."

"Hope you can be successful," replied Mr. Miyagi.

"Unfortunately, we arrived too late. We buried John last week," Terry spoke. I pretended to wipe my watery eyes. Danny Boy and Mr. Miyagi shared a glance.

"He's dead? What happened?" asked Danny Boy.

"His doctor said it was cardiac arrest, but we know John better than anyone. Karate was his life. And after he lost all his students, it just broke his heart. John was a hero. He wasn't always like what you saw. He saved our life in Vietnam," Terry admitted proudly wrapping an arm around my shoulder.

"Wait, you served in Vietnam?" Danny Boy asked me with a surprised expression plastered on his face.

"Yes, I did. I volunteered as a nurse," I told him proudly.

"I feel like I've seen you somewhere... Wait, aren't you that supermodel? What's your name..."

"Lana Isley," I informed him.

"Lana Isley, oh my God. My mom is a huge fan of yours. Can I get an autograph for my mom?"

"Sure!" Danny Boy ran inside to grab something.

"Kids, am I right?" Terry told Mr. Miyagi. A few moments later, Danny Boy came back running outside with a marker and a napkin. He handed me the napkin and the marker, "Sorry, I couldn't find anything else for you to sign."

"It's fine. What's your mother's name?"

"Lucille." I nodded. I signed the napkin for him. After I signed it I kissed the napkin leaving a lipstick mark. I handed the napkin and the marker back to him. He saw my autograph and smiled widely. "Thank you so much, Lana Isley."

"You're welcome."

Terry clapped his hands, "Well, I guess we should get going! I'm sorry to interrupt your training. Have a good day."

"You too," Danny Boy replied. Before we left, we heard Mr. Miyagi calling out, "Mr. Silver, Miss Isley." We turned around, "Very sorry to hear about death of a friend."

"Me too," Danny Boy said.

I pretended to hide my watery eyes by looking down, "Thank you," Terry told them before wrapping an arm around me and us walking out.

After we got into his truck, I asked, "So, what's next?"

"Next, Lana dear is going to be pain, torture, and fear," he put a finger under my chin bringing me closer. I smiled, "Now we're talking." He gave me a soft kiss on the lips before driving back to his house.

When we got to his house, I threw myself on the couch. Terry sat down across the other side of the sofa. "I'll be right back," he excused himself heading upstairs. After he disappeared into his room, I slowly got off the couch and followed him into his room. When I reached his door, I slowly twisted the door handle checking if it is locked, and it wasn't. I tiptoed into his room and saw that the bathroom door was cracked. I heard him sniffing. I fucking knew it.

I slowly looked into the bathroom and got a glimpse of him bending his head over a little mirror on his sink and his other hand used to close the other nostril. Suddenly, he threw his head back while having his index finger under his nose and letting out a groan.

After he bent his head down again, I took that as my cue to leave. I tiptoed out of his room slowly closing the door, trying my best not to make any noise. After I left, I immediately went to my room which was across from his. I closed my door shut and went into my bathroom.

When I got out of my bathroom, I was frightened by Terry's sudden presence in my room.  I put a hand over my chest, taking a deep breath while closing my eyes, "Terry, you scared the living hell out of me." I heard him laugh.

"I was heading to the sauna and I wanted to ask if you wanted to join me?" He asked walking closer to me. I put a hand on his chest, "I would love to join you. Wait for me outside. I need to get ready." He nodded and left the room closing the door behind him. I dug through my suitcase looking for a bathing suit. After I found it, I stripped out of my clothes and wore a bathing suit. I grabbed the robe from the bathroom and put it on before stepping outside.

When I stepped outside, at the same time Terry got out of his room, shirtless only wearing a towel around his waist. It's been quite a long time since I've seen him shirtless. He smiled and gestured to the elevator.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I lay on my back on the marble steps. Terry laid back on the wall with his eyes closed. I observed his features. His eyes opened and he caught me observing him. He put his hand on the marble steps by my side leaning in, "Like what you see?" he whispered. The tip of our noses touched for a second, "Maybe," I muttered. Our lips intertwined. He adjusted himself on top of me while caressing my cheek with his thumb gently. He slowly moved his lips from mine to my neck sucking on the sweet spots, "I have missed you, Lana," he said between kisses. I slowly removed the hair tie from his hair letting his beautiful long hair down. I gently ran my fingers through his hair as he left wet kisses on my neck, "I've missed you too, Terry." He moved back up to my lips. After a few minutes of kissing, we decided to stop to catch our breath. I noticed the telephone by his side and suddenly remembered that I still haven't got a chance to talk to Johny.
"Can I use your phone to call Johny? I still haven't got a chance to talk to him." Terry nodded taking the telephone and dialing Johny's number for me. I put the phone to my ear waiting for him to pick up. After four rings he finally picked up.
"Terry?" he said on the other line.
"Actually, It's Lana," I informed him. I shared a glance with Terry smiling. He put his ear on the back of the telephone.
"Lana! It's been a while. How you doin'?"
"You're damn right it's been a long time. I'm doing great. I'm done for the season and now I'm on vacation until Spring!" I informed him happily.
"That's great, Lana. I'm so happy for you."
"Thank you, Johny," I said smiling. He's too sweet sometimes. "And don't you worry Johny, me and Terry will get those fuckers back for what they did to you."
"That's right!" Terry yelled.
I heard Johny laugh on the other line, "I see Terry recruited you too."
"Of course, Johny. You know I would do anything for you two. You two are my family. My only family and family never turn their back on each other."
"You are damn right, Lana," Johny replied.
"Well, Johny it was great talking to you. You go enjoy the vacation and take lots of pictures will  ya?"
"Sure will, Lana. Bye."
"Bye-bye." I ended the call. I turned to Terry smiling. "I miss us," I said pouting. "Do you remember that time all of us got matching tattoos?" I showed him the snake tattoo on my back. "Johny got it on his bicep and you got it on your side," Terry observed my tattoo and ran his fingers over it.
"Yeah, I remember that," he muttered. He turned to his side to show me his tattoo. It still was there but now the lines were getting thicker.
