Chapter 24

"Don't stress, you are going to do great. Today's going to be great. Good luck. I love you." Lando says. "I love you too. Good luck. See you later Lan." I say back and quickly hug him before we split up into our respective garages.

There are two laps left of the race. I turn out of one of the final corners and something feels off. I feel myself begin to slow down. "No no no no. I'm loosing power." I say over the radio. "Ok carry on. We are looking into it." Gareth says back. I try to push on but I can't go higher than 6th gear. Charles overtakes me which pushes me back into 5th place. I push the car as hard as I can and crawl across the finish line in p7. Which is still great but I wanted to do better.

After a shower and the team debrief I make my way to the garage and speak to my engineers. We talk about the car and certain improvements we could possibly make.

Before I know it the sun begins to set and it's basically dark outside. I walk out onto the quiet pit lane. The light from my pit box shining onto the tarmac. It feels strange, this usually busy piece of the track, seeing it empty.

There is one other pit box emitting light. The garage just happens to be two down from mine. Meaning that it is Lando's garage. I walk down on the pit lane and stand opposite the garage.

I am more watching Lando than looking at the car. Watching him hard at work, discussing things. I think he feels me staring and turns to face the pit lane. "Ah, a spy!" He yells as soon as he notices me. He takes off from the engineer he was talking to and runs towards me. I begin to run back towards my garage, my giggles bouncing around the pit lane. He is faster than me and wraps his arms around my waist, picking me up and spinning me around. "Lan!" I yell mostly out of fear that he is going to drop me. He places me back onto the ground and I turn to face him. "Got cha!" He says smiling. "Ah damn. You foiled my plans." I say with a smile. Lando begins to lean in towards me but I twist out his grip and run back into my garage, giggling the whole way, past all my engineers who were watching us.

I make my way to my driver room and grab all my stuff before texting Lando to tell him I'm leaving now, just Incase he wanted to go back with me. I say Goodnight to all my engineers and give them all fist bumps before walking out the red Bull garage.

"You ready to go?" I hear, making me look up from my phone as soon as I walk out the garage. "Yup." I say with a small smile and shove my phone into my pocket before grabbing Lando's outstretched hand.

I sigh sitting back onto my hotel bed, Lando walks into my room. "Can I finally get that kiss that you avoided?" He asks. I get up off the bed. "You are so adorable. Of course." I say with a smile before walking over to him.

As I stand in the kitchen, making dinner, I hear Lando yelling at the game he is playing in the room next door. The yelling eventually dies down and I walk to the door and hear him talking to his chat.

"Yeah she is great, she makes me happy and I don't know what I would do without her." He says. I open the door a little and chat sees me instantly. Lando reads the cat and turns to see me. "Oh hey." He says with a smile before patting his lap. I walk over to him and sit on his lap. "Hi chat. How's it going?" I ask as Lando wraps his arms around my torso, resting his chin on my shoulder.

I read the chat as it quickly goes by. "Sorry about Spain." I read out loud. "Yeah it was a little upsetting but it's fine. We still have many more races this season." I say with a small smile. "Play a game." Lando reads out. "Ooh ok I'm down." I say turning a little to look and Lando. "Yeah sure, how about tricky towers. I have been meaning to play it." He says before clicking the game. "Just grab those controllers please." Lando asks, pointing behind the monitors. I lean over and grab them and connect them to the computer. I grab the extra chair in the room and sit next to him.

I giggle as I select one of the options to sabotage Lando. "Why are there bushes on my tower now?" He asks from the chair next to me. "It's moss babe. Did you not get that part of the tutorial?" I ask with a giggle. "Stop laughing. You're beating me." He says. "That's because I pay attention." I smile. I quickly glance at the chat and see that they are loving this.

"Nooo! What the hell." Lando yells and his whole tower collapses. I laugh at him yelling and because of that one of the blocks land funny. "Ah no! Now nothing is going to stay." I say upset. "Haha." Lando laughs sarcastically. "Shush." I say.

After about an hour of screaming at this game we decide to end the stream. "Bye guys." I smile and Lando clicks to end the stream. "That was fun." Lando says. "Yeah. We must do that again." I say and get up.

I walk into the kitchen and realize I left the dinner on the table. "Aww no." I say and look at the freezing cold food. "Oh, hey it's fine. Don't stress, we can warm it up. It will be fine." Lando says, kissing my cheek as he walks past me.
