Mountaintop Sanctuary – 0903 Hours

The wind howled between them. Tony's repulsors hummed, charged and shaking in his palms. Across from him, Y/N Stark stood firm — her armor darker than before, sleeker, with violet-blue arc energy pulsing across the spine like veins.

Behind her, Loki waited, silent and still as death, fingers resting on his scepter like a king on a throne.

"Don't do this," Tony said again. His voice had softened — less warning, more pleading. "You think you're in control, but he's using you."

Y/N's jaw tightened.

"I built the ship," she said. "I cracked the SHIELD grid. I rewrote the detainment protocols by hand. So if you think I'm some pawn, you haven't been paying attention."

"I am paying attention. That's why I'm here."

She stepped forward, slowly. "You came here with a suit that's one twitch away from blowing half this mountain off the map."

"I came to take you home."

"I'm not going back," she said. "I am home."

Tony's repulsor dimmed for a moment.

He looked at her like he might still pull her out.

Like maybe she'd wake up from all this.

But her eyes didn't flicker.

And that was when he realized:

She was already awake.

Above – SHIELD Strike Team En Route, 0906 Hours

Steve's quinjet soared through low cloud cover, flanked by Natasha's. On their nav screens, Tony's signal blinked red and steady, just below the summit.

Natasha's voice came through comms. "Visual on the location. No sign of conflict yet."

"Yet," Steve muttered.

Bruce, sitting across from him, checked his pulse monitor. It was rising. Not from fear. From dread.

"She's not going to back down," Bruce said.

Steve looked at him. "Then we bring her in."

"If she lets us."

Natasha's voice crackled. "She won't."

Mountaintop – 0910 Hours

Y/N's sensors lit up first.

"Incoming," she muttered.

Loki's lips curled into a faint smile. "Ah. The cavalry."

Tony's helmet slid back into place. He stepped between them and the rising dust cloud.

"Tell them to stand down," Y/N said.

"They won't," he replied.

She nodded once.

"Then I will."

And with a flick of her wrist, her gauntlet sent a pulsing burst of violet-blue energy skyward — not an attack. A warning. A statement.

Steve's quinjet wobbled midair from the shockwave.

Tony opened comms. "Stand down. Do not engage. Repeat—"

But it was too late.

Natasha's jet was already descending.

Weapons hot.

Impact – 0912 Hours

The first shot wasn't lethal — a stun pulse, designed to disable, not destroy.

But it was aimed at Loki.

And Y/N saw red.

She fired back.

Her blast tore through the sky like lightning, slamming into Natasha's wing, sending her into a hard roll.

The quinjet dipped low before stabilizing.

Steve landed seconds later, shield up, boots skidding on stone.

"Y/N—"

"Don't," she warned, voice shaking.

"You don't have to fight us."

"You're not giving me a choice."

Steve raised both hands, slowly.

"We came to help you."

"I didn't ask for help."

"I know," he said. "But we couldn't just watch you burn everything down."

She stepped toward him, and for the first time, her voice broke.

"I gave everything to this team. I bled for it. And the second I stepped out of line—"

"You sided with a war criminal."

"I sided with myself."

Steve's expression shifted — sympathy, but also resolve.

"If you force our hand—"

She lifted her gauntlet.

"I'm not forcing anything."

Above – Natasha's Jet, Stabilized

"I'm clear," she said over comms. "Y/N's still holding position. No killshots."

Tony's voice replied through gritted teeth. "She won't be the one to fire first."

Natasha hesitated.

"Loki?"

"He's just watching."

Mountaintop – 0914 Hours

Bruce had arrived.

But he wasn't transforming. Not yet. He stood at the far edge of the confrontation, hands open.

"Y/N," he said. "I know this isn't you."

She didn't look at him.

"I think it is," she said softly. "I think it always has been."

Loki stepped beside her now. Not behind her — beside.

"She's not your child anymore," he said. "She's her own."

Tony's voice roared through his suit. "Shut up."

Loki raised an eyebrow. "Or what? You'll blast me in front of her again?"

Tony's repulsors flared. "Don't test me."

"I already did. And she chose."

Y/N's voice sliced between them.

"Enough."

Everyone fell silent.

She looked at them one by one — the team who raised her, trained her, fought beside her.

Her hands shook.

But she didn't lower her gauntlet.

"I'm not your project."

"You never were," Tony said. "You were everything."

Her breath hitched.

"You only said that when I was useful."

Steve stepped forward again.

"We can fix this. Together."

She shook her head.

"You don't want to fix me. You want to contain me."

Natasha raised her weapon — just slightly.

And Loki moved fast.

Too fast.

He summoned a burst of magic that sent dust flying, a shield of green light forming around Y/N.

Steve raised his shield. Tony flew upward. Natasha ducked behind a boulder.

The standoff exploded.

Battle – 0915 to 0921 Hours

Steve charged Loki.

They clashed — steel to magic, shield to scepter.

Tony fired at the barrier. Y/N redirected his blast mid-air with a flick of her gauntlet, sending it into the mountain behind them.

Bruce turned.

Hulk emerged.

The ground shook.

Loki grinned.

"Shall we?"

Y/N said nothing.

She was already in motion.

Her gauntlet glowed as she skidded across the gravel, firing a precision burst that knocked Clint — now entering from the cliffside — off his perch.

"I don't want to hurt you," she shouted.

"You already did," Natasha hissed, firing back.

But Y/N was too fast.

And this time?

She didn't hold back.

Aftermath – 0925 Hours

Smoke filled the air.

Clint lay unconscious.

Steve was on one knee, breathing hard, shield cracked at the edge.

Natasha's gun was gone.

Bruce had retreated. Hulk was gone.

Only Tony was still standing, armor half-crushed, arc reactor flickering.

Y/N stood over him.

Her face was streaked with ash. Her hands trembled.

But her gauntlet still glowed.

He looked up at her.

"This is who you are now?"

"No," she whispered. "This is who you made me."

And she turned her back.

Walked to Loki.

He opened a portal behind them — golden green and wild.

"Y/N," Tony called.

She turned — just once.

"I loved you."

Her voice cracked.

"I still do," she said.

Then stepped through the portal.

And vanished.
