Chapter 22 - Ring

: Writers POV :

"Emma Swan, I-"

"MUUUM!!! I'm home!" Henry calls from the hallway. The teenager had decided to come home early from Regina's so he could have dinner with them. Emma rolls her eyes and Killian lets out a nervous laugh.

"Where are you? I thought we could all have dinner together at granny's." He yells, walking into the lounge. "Oh! Umm, bad timing?..." He stops in his tracks and steps back awkwardly once he sees Killian on one knee.

"I'll, umm.... go back to Regina's for a bit...." As he leaves, he sticks his thumbs up at Killian and mouths, 'Good luck!'. Emma and Killian hear the door slam shut and the patter of running feet.

"I swear that happens every single time we are having a moment." Emma says, laughing.

"Aye, he's a peculiar lad. So.... As I was saying..." Killian scratches behind his ear and his breathing picks up in speed, Emma squeezes his hand in reassurance. Edging him to continue. Killian takes a deep breath and grips Emma's hand.

"Emma Swan, I love you." She blushes, "Before I met you, I was a man who simply had no meaning. I was a dirty pirate who was so consumed with the craving of vengeance, that I did not care who I hurt along my path. I just cared about myself and getting what I wanted. But then, one day along my path, I came upon you. You changed me, for the good and I'm so proud of the man I've become." A tear rolls down Emma's cheek, quickly and quietly she wipes it away. Killian continues-

"You bring this feeling to my heart that I've never felt before. Every time you speak, a firework goes off inside of me.Every time you laugh, a ripple of joy runs up my spine.And every single day I fall in love with you all over again." More tears of joy fall down Emma's face and Killian's eyes are glassy as he speaks.

"I want to spend the rest of my life with you and our child, together. Because you are my happy ending. So, Emma Swan, will you do me the honour of becoming Mrs Jones?"

He reaches into his pocket with his good hand and pulls out a small black box. Carefully, with the tip of his hook, he opens the velvet container revealing the ring inside. Emma gasps.

The ring was pure silver with a perfectly cut diamond that shone in every direction. The light caught it perfectly, glistening like melting snow.

Killian had brought the special item nearly a month ago, but never had the power inside of him to use it.

"Yes, I will marry you. I love you Killian Jones." Emma replies, giving Killian permission to slide the engagement ring onto her finger.

The two fiances lean in and kiss for what feels like eternity.

"Did you do it yet?" They hear Henry loudly whisper through the letter box.
