Chapter 9: A Normal Day

Tenma's POV:

Me, Lea, and Leo were playing with Sasuke in my room.

"Its good to see Sasuke in a healthy condition," Lea said while petting Sasuke who was happily wagging his tail.

"Mhm, he's been eating and drinking well. Also taking him on some walks. I try to make sure to give him what he needs," I replied with a smile.

"Yeah, you took care of him pretty well, Matsukaze," Leo said

"Arigato Leo-senpai," I replied as I smiled.

"You're welcome, and you can just call me Leo," Leo responded.

"Hai!" I replied.

I then I saw a note that was slid under the door.

"I'll be right back Leo, Lea," I said as I stood up and picked up the note.

"Okay!" Lea replied as she smiled and Leo just nods.

I then unfolded the note and began to read it.

'Meet us in the living room'~Shindou and Tsurugi

"What's does it say Matsukaze?" Leo asked.

"It's a note, Shindou-senpai, and Tsurugi want me to meet them in the living room," I replied, "Leo, Lea, can you watch over Sasuke while I'm gone for a bit."

"Sure thing Tenma," Lea replied with a smile.

"Arigato!" I said with a smile.

Sasuke went to me and I pet him on the head.

"I'll be back Sasuke, be good alright," I said with a smile and he barked in response.

I stood back up and left my room. I was on my way to the living room to meet up with Shindou and Tsurugi, but when I slightly opened the door, I heard shouting, it was Cole and Blaze, they are like this every day. But the shouting always reminded me of something in my past, I sighed it off and walked in.

Shindou heard me come in and he looked at me. He then said with a smile, "Ohayo Tenma."

"Ohayo Shindou-senpai," I said with a smile.

I looked at the two arguing and heard their argument.

"They're at it again huh?" I internally sweatdropped as I thought to myself.

"Just admit I am stronger than you, cause not only can generate flames, I have better control over it," Blaze said.

"Hah! At least I can still fight in the rain and against opponents that use water, unlike you, Blaze" Cole replied with a smirk.

"At least I don't get beaten by my crush ten times in a row," Blaze said back at Cole, catching him off guard.

"E-excuse me?! Shut it, hot-headed jerk face!" Cole said.

"You shut it hard-headed numbskull!" Blaze shouted back.

"Oh you want to fight or something Blaze?!" Cole shouted.

"Oh I would like to, Cole!" Blaze said.

I could have sworn I saw intense auras coming out of those two, and it seems they are gonna battle again if no one does something. I just sweatdropped cause this ain't the first time I've witnessed this, I looked at Shindou and saw he was doing a straight face while sweatdropping a bit.

"Shouldn't we do something before they wreck the place?" I asked worriedly.

"I tried with the others but don't worry, someone already got it," Shindou replied, leaving me confused a bit. He then smirked and closed his eyes.

"In, 3. 2. 1," when Shindou finished, I heard someone hit Cole and Blaze and they fall on the ground. They had their hands placed on their heads.

"Ow," Blaze said.

"What the-" Cole was about to continue, but immediately shut up when he saw the culprit, it was Athena.

"What were you about to say?" Athena asked as she held her kunai with a creepy face.

Cole was shaking and the others sweatdropped, they knew not to make Athena angry.

"N-nothing Athena," Cole said.

"Hah." Blaze whispered but we all heard it.

"Excuse me, do you have anything to say, Blaze-senpai?" Athena said as she glared at Blaze with the same look.

"N-nothing, Athena" Blaze said.

I was kinda surprised and sweatdropped at what happened.

"Just as always," Tsurugi said as he smirked.

"She's kinda scary," I heard Hayami whisper, but it was loud enough for me to hear.

"Anyways, Shindou-senpai, Tsurugi, you both called me right?" I said, "So what is it about?"

"Oh yeah, follow us," Shindou said as he got up from the couch and Tsurugi went beside him.

The three of us went to the dining room and there I saw Aoi, Shinsuke, Midori, and Nishiki.

"Oh, Tenma's here," Midori said with a smile.

"Ohayo Minna," I said with a smile.

"So now that everyone is here, its time for us to go," Nishiki said.

"Uhm, where are we going exactly?" I asked.

"Oh, the seven of us are going to a bubble tea store and it will be my treat, I will also buy some for the others," Shindou-senpai said.

"Oh, I appreciate it and I know the others will too," I said with a smile.

"Hey Tenma, what's your favorite flavor?" Shinsuke asked.

"Oh uhm," I said, "to be honest. I actually haven't had one before," I said as I rubbed the back of my head feeling embarrassed.

"Eh?!" I heard my friends said and they had a surprised expression.

"You haven't had one?" Aoi asked.

I nodded in response.

"Have you been living under a rock or something?" Nishiki asked.

Midori-senpai elbows him a bit while I just slightly chuckled nervously. Nishiki-senpai isn't exactly wrong about that though.

"Well then," Midori-senpai said in a tone that made me feel like she is gonna kill me as she turns to me.

"That gives us a reason why we should go hurry," Midori suddenly said in a happy tone.

"Wha-" I was about to say something, but suddenly I felt someone grab me and dragged me, it was Midori-senpai. I saw the others sweatdropped at this.

*Minutes of sneaking into the Backstreets District D later*

We eventually arrived at the store and walked inside the building, the place was full of people as usual with news playing in one of the televisions as usual, the channel about the Peace Treaty Union.

"Was it necessary to drag me Midori-senpai?" I asked as I crossed my arms, sweatdropping.

"Yup," Midori said, "cause we needed to hurry."

"You know there is nothing to rush about so much, it's not like the shop is going anywhere," I said in my mind as I still sweatdropped.

"Hey Tenma," I heard Shindou said.

"What is it Shindou-senpai?" I asked as I faced him.

"What flavor do you want to try?" Shindou asked with a smile.

"Hm," I said as I looked at the menu, "I think I will try chocolate," I said with a smile.

"Good choice," Shindou said with a smile, "The others are at the table over there, you can sit with them while I'm buying," Shindou added as he looked over at the table with the others.

I nodded in response with a smile and I went to the table, I then sat on the seat and waited. After Shindou bought the bubble teas, we got ours and left. We went to the park and sat on the benches under a tree. I drank my bubble tea and it was so good.

"How is it?" Shinsuke asked while smiling.

"It's very good," I replied with a smile.

"Told ya," Nishiki said while giving a bit of a grin.

Some of us chatted a bit while enjoying the peaceful scenery, it was quite a sight. I was the first one to finish my bubble tea and threw the plastic cup into a nearby trash can. While doing so, I saw a fountain in the distance, it might be a new addition or I just haven't seen it yet. I then looked at the others.

"I'm just gonna check out the fountain, I'll be right back," I said with a smile.

"Alright, be careful Tenma," Aoi replied while smiling back.

"Don't get lost okay?" Midori jokingly said while I chuckled mentally at that a bit.

"I won't," I responded as I ran.

When I arrived, I stood and looked at the fountain as memories came to my head.

*Flashback, Okinawa, 8 years ago*

Me and my parents went to the park and it was beautiful. We had a picnic and spent time together. I played with my parents and looked around the park. After some time passed by, it was getting dark, we went to the large fountain which was surrounded by beautiful flowers and had a lot of people. We went close to the fountain and the fountain show began. I would never forget that time, that was one of the best times I had with my family.

*Flashback Ended*

It brings back the few good memories I had with my parents before they were-

"Hey you!" I heard someone said.

I snapped out of my thoughts and for some reason, that voice sounded familiar.

I turned around and my eyes widened in shock, it was 'him'. He wasn't alone, he had his gang as well. The ones who took my parent's life away.

"Long time no see," the man said in a cold tone, and then he grinned, "Matsukaze Tenma."
