To Ashes and Blood
08:03, 29 December 2024"C'mon, hot stuff, really think I'd do this without 'cha?" Jinx rephrased, holding her hand out for the dearest person in her world to take hold of.
Minx interlocked their fingers, squeezing her girlfriend's hand, which only stopped her shaking for a second. The pink-haired girl stood up with Jinx and held her other hand out to another girl, a much younger one, by their side, her green nail polish chipping along her fingernails.
Isha graciously accepted her gesture, her small fingers squeezing Minx's hand just like she saw she did to Jinx's.
-
An open box of chalk lay open on the dusty floor its contents littered throughout the hole in the Earth they found themselves in. Varieties of colors decorated the pillars, scratchy drawings thrown about in the order of two different lives.
Jinx's side was blue and hot pink, a designation between the two girls she drew. Jinx depicted Powder's life along the stone walls, deep memories resurfacing to her consciousness. The art was sloppy and rushed but so extravagantly Jinx.
Minx took longer with Ebony, cradling the dead girl's memory to her as if she was never truly ready to let go. Her side of the man-made cavern was a lighter pink with elements of red and white. Her story ended with the girl's body lying on the concrete below fifty stories of Zaunite buildings, where Minx killed her.
"This better be worth it," Sevika grumbled as she held Minx's body on top of her shoulders allowing the girl to draw the finishing touches.
Jinx, long finished with her life's portrait, doodled self-portraits on a random piece of rock with Isha and grinned, "Oh, it'll be worth it all right."
But something so unmistakable about the girls' hideout seemed oddly familiar to that of a tomb.
-
"Jinx!" A familiar voice echoed throughout the cavern her fists raised to her face.
A giggle swirled around her causing Vi to spin in circles, although each time she thought she caught a glimpse of pink or blue hair, they vanished without even leaving a trail of magenta light behind.
"Looks like you finally got one of our names right," Minx laughed from behind, her words trailing her as she once again moved to a new location.
Vi grimaced, bringing her Hextech gauntlets closer to her chest, "Minx!"
"Oops," another laugh echoed this one with her signature seductive ring. "Looks like I was wrong. There's two points to you, babe."
The hot pink-haired girl's attention shifted to the other side of the cavern, her powder-blue eyes wide open at the sound of her sister's voice, "Guess there really isn't a crack in the Earth where you won't find me."
At Vi's silence, Jinx spat more poison, "Never thought my sister would turn bluebelly."
The blue-eyed girl adjusted her weaponry her head cocking to the side at her dear sister's comment. "Never thought mine would orphan kids."
"Ha! Why not? Minnie and I have done it to ourselves enough. But plastering our faces all over, hoping someone else would do your dirty work, poisoning our air," Jinx whistled from above, her voice full of assurance.
"You've turned a leaf, sister," Minx finished, voice bellowing down from the rafters.
Vi's hands fell to her side a disdainful look capturing her face, her eyebrows furrowed and mouth turned up with a look of determination, "I'm done blaming myself for the two of you's mistakes, you couldn't be my sisters, you killed them, I'm not letting you taint their memories anymore."
Jinx's figure appeared in front of Vi, open and defenseless. "That's fine because neither of us can seem to die."
"I'm sorry."
"I'm sorry too."
A gunshot symphonied through the tomb, vibrating the stone walls it shot through a double-sided glass base into Jinx's faux forehead. Her figure faded a laugh escaping her throat as she descended into the abyss.
"I hope you two got the chance to y'know- before, hah, I know we did," Jinx laughed.
Vi turned forward putting her fists up to her face, "I'm ready."
Caitlyn sneered at the missed shot backing out of her army crawl position and back into the open air. She was met with a knee to the side of her face.
The blue-haired girl fell. Clutching her nose, she looked up into neon green eyes, and her breath was caught in her chest.
Minx leaped for Caitlyn right as the girl rolled out of the way, a grunt leaving her lips. Standing back onto her feet Minx rapidly deploys two orange crystals from between her fingers.
They explode and cage themselves around Caitlyn's feet trapping her. As Minx approached her Caitlyn swung the hilt of her gun to meet Minx's temple. The pink-haired girl recoiled stepping back as a hand went up to clutch her head.
Caitlyn shot one bullet into each of the orange crystal's that caged her, shattering them and setting herself free. She ran and jumped on top of Minx, landing both their bodies on the floor. A cough lept from Minx's mouth as Caitlyn pressed her rifle to her throat.
Minx scratched and clawed at Caitlyn to no avail, blood leaked out of various puncture wounds from Minx's cat-like nails. Shots of electricity left Caitlyn's rifle shooting point of lightning through Minx, the harder Caitlyn pressed the gun to her throat the sharper the electricity became.
Minx slapped one of her hands across Caitlyn's face, bringing all her attention onto Minx's left hand while her right reached low into her pocket to pull out her last crystal, a purple one. She rapidly lifted her left hand to Caitlyn's jaw prying it open before she shoved the purple ball inside her mouth and forcefully clamped it shut.
She watched as Caitlyn's face contorted in disgust with the chemicals on her tongue, puffs of purple escaping her nose and mouth as the crystal exploded into smoke.
Caitlyn sucked in a breath of fresh air as she brought her knee up to smash into Minx's ribs, successfully knocking the air out of her too. Minx gasped her head falling back to the concrete coughing hysterically.
An explosion beside the two boomed as they rolled away from the debree, finally peeling apart on the dirty ground from the impact.
Minx recovered faster jumping overtop Caitlyn and slamming her elbow into her jaw, dislocating it completely. The pink-haired girl kept throwing hit, repeatedly slamming Caitlyn into the gray ground.
Caitlyn reached for anything, something, to use against her tormentor. Her vision began to turn blurry, fuzzy figures appearing in her vision, hallucinations.
Grabbing Minx's bent leg beside her Caitlyn used all her strength and twisted.
A cry lept from Minx's throat as her leg snapped in two, her pearly white bone peaking out from below her jeans.
Minx still continued fighting even as Caitlyn rolled her over so she was now sitting on top her chest twisting her broken bone even further. Minx kicked with her good leg, scratched, and punched but Caitlyn was bigger, stronger.
Slowly her mistrations became defeated and faulty right as Caitlyn grabbed the front of Minx's hair and slammed her head into the concrete.
Minx's hands fell to her mangled side as Caitlyn sloppily rose to her feet rapidly approaching Jinx and Vi as the exchanged blows.
Caitlyn lined up her shot but her world was spinning, there were now multiple Jinxs surrounding her, taunting her, she wasn't sure which one was real. Hyperventalating, she pulled the trigger as giggled rang in her ear.
Jinx's middle finger was blown off completely, bone cut clean as Caitlyn's misplaced bullet shot through the air.
It was silent as she stared at her corrupted hand before the only sound was her disheveled body being thrown onto a tomb where she wished to lay her head to rest.
Violet raised a shaking fist above her sisters head.
"I'm glad it's you, had to be you," She spoke, her gravely voice echoing throughout the dark chamber. Vi raised her fist.
Isha ran as fast as she could. Sliding along the dirty concrete she gripped Jinx's handgun for dear life. She jumped between Jinx and Vi. Wedging her small body in the middle of the two fighters she raised the pistol to Vi's chin, finger ready on the trigger.
Caitlyn got a lucky shot. Recklessly she aimed her dreary vision between what she believed to be the real Jinx and Vi.
The gun was blow to bits, falling down the steps and onto the dirty floor, another one of Jinx's pried pocessions becoming scrap metal.
Caitlyn pressed forward finger still on the trigger.
"Cait," Vi warned.
"Move. She's not getting away again."
Vi's eyes widened, fear encapsulating in her pupils, "Cait, that's a kid."
The dark blue-haired girl's distortion the world made it easy not to care, she shot again, bullet nearly skimming Vi's cheeks as it wizzed past.
Isha wrapped herself around Jinx, caging her beloved friend to her, not daring to let go.
Minx cried into the open air as her body was lifted into strong arms. Sevika held her body delicately, walking slowly towards the hidden leaver that when pulled would symbolize this fight as over.
Sevika pulled it, rushing to Jinx and Isha with Minx wrapped in her arms. She curled herself around the three girls, using her larger, stronger body to ensure safety to those she deemed herself loyal to.
The wind baron's sculpture collapsed, ready air exploding around everything near. It rushed passed like a hurricane, pushing Caitlyn and Vi out.
The tomb sealed itself closed, rubble blocking the two enforcer's entrance and exit.
"No, no, this isn't how it was supposed to-" Jinx began before she caught side of her lovers disregulated body, her mangled bones, and began to cry.
A/N: someone cooked here.
