Starved

06:47, 17 December 2024

Minx woke up in a bed for the second time in seven years. The fluffy familiar sheets drew her further and further into the sleepy unconsciousness she kept fighting. Her body felt lighter than it had in months with her elongated amount of sleep.

Lifting herself slowly to sit up on the mattress her head spun causing the blue-light-lit wind silo to spin around her. Then rapidly, everything hit her at once. The blue light, the creak of metal from under her, the vague memories of a blue-haired girl holding onto her wrist.

She stood up too fast, her world twirling, hands shaking wildly. Minx angrily shook her messy bedhead before forcing her body to stand like a ragdoll.

Huffing, she practically stomped her bare feet through the middle of one of Jinx's wind silo wings.

And there the dreaded girl sat, long blue braids tangled and back turned to Minx. Her body slumped against her metal desk, soft snores filling the room, a slight sliver of drool leaking out of her mouth.

Minx felt unkindled anger stir in her, her ashen face filling with pink, nose formed into a soft scrunch. "Jinx!" She yelled watching as the nineteen-year-old before she swiveled around in her stool tiredly raising her head from her arms.

"Heya, Minnie, you finally woke-"

She was met with a slap to the face, a soft one, but the sound still ricocheted off her aluminum walls.

Minx stepped back, hyperventilating her whole body shook as tears raced down her face dripping onto the floor and smearing blue and pink paint. She pointed an angry finger at Jinx, "How dare you- you up and leave one day just to- just to come back and stop me from finally-" she took a breath.

Jinx's pink eyes hardened at the sting to her cheek flashes of memories hitting her at once. "Stop you from finally killing yourself?" Jinx finished her voice soft yet holding an unmistakable bite to it.

A humorless laugh left Minx's lips, "You don't–" she coughed on her tears, bending at the waist slightly and wrapping her arms around herself, "–You don't get to do that. You don't get to act like this is my fault." Her voice filled with venom.

Jinx lifted herself off her seat, turning her back to the girl yet again, opening it to the knives Minx's mouth was spewing.

"I waited for days, in my room for you to come back, I didn't eat–"

The blue-haired girl cocked her head to the side, "I can tell."

Minx's eyes squinted trying desperately to ignore her comment wrapping her arms tighter around her thin waist. "Jinx, why'd you do it, and more importantly," she paused, "Why'd you come back?"

Jinx took a deep breath for the first time in their argument wiping her tears as they fell. "I- I couldn't grieve with you with me."

Minx took a step closer to her lover her arms slowly dropping to her sides palms open and inviting.

Jinx paused before continuing, "I couldn't- I couldn't stand watching you grieve him too, knowing-" she turned around revealing herself to her best friend, "knowing it was all my fault." Her voice clenched at the end while her face contorted in a sob.

Minx's walls fell down brick by brick the stone crumbling at her baren feet.

She rushed up to her sobbing lover, the speratic movement making her world spin, she ignored it. Taking one last look at Jinx's face, Minx wrapped her arms around her lifelong best friend's waist pulling them close for the first time in months.

Jinx didn't skip a beat before her arms caged her lover to her chest Minx's hair tickling the side of her neck. "I thought you would hate me if I came back but when I-" she took a deep breath of Minx's scent, "when I saw you again, and saw how you've deteriorated, toots, I- couldn't stand the thought of either of us doing it alone any longer."

"I knew I couldn't do it alone, and neither could you," she spoke softly as Minx lifted her head out of her lover's neck.

One of Jinx's hands crept up the potent spine of Minx's back, causing the girl to shiver. Delicately, as if treating the girl before her as cracked porcelain, Jinx brought her hand to her girl's neck and brought them into the softest kiss they'd ever had.

Their lips steadily glided against each other's, pressing hard into the other's lips with equal enthusiasm.

Their tears dried, comforted in the fact that they were locked in each other's arms again.

But slowly Minx slid out of her lover's arms her unconscious body sliding to the floor, and before Jinx could realize what was happening Minx's bruised knees met the metal floor, her unconscious, still starving body laying like a ragdoll at her feet.

A/N our girl is still not healthy but at least their together again! y'know Jinx ain't gonna tolerate her starving shit, she fr gonna put that girl in her place lmao.

fluff was lovely to write after this depressing angst shit going on for so long, do ya'll agree?  I think it was a nice break.
