One Last Dance
10:33, 4 December 2024Family was a word Minx left undefined her whole life. Her mother, the one who forced her into submission and taught her the rules to being "pretty" never counted. Salo, her father, was never home, he was off with other women having sex while his child was tortured in sex trafficing.
Vander was the closest she ever got to a stable parental figure, but she never counted him as her family, he was simply a devoted caretaker. But nights where she slept alone in her lab's room on Vander's dreadful recliner she felt his loss deeply. She missed days when Ebony and Powder would joke with him on busy bar days, preventing him from doing his job.
Vi, poor Vi, was always subjected to their pranks and she always played along even when they didn't get her. When Vander wasn't around Vi always stepped up and took care of the little girls, the closest thing to a sister Ebony ever got.
That leaves Silco. While not the securest of fatherly figures Silco was the saftest. Although being with him was an occupational hazard he was also the safest person in all of Zaun to be surrounded by. He spent days flipping pancakes and accepting spontaneous gifts, which he was always grateful to recieve. Playing off pranks pulled on him that wouldn've gotten anyone else but his two girls killed.
They definitly were little troublemakers, Powder and Ebony. They spent their time attaching glitter bombs to tripwires and wrapping plastic wrap on the toilet seats. Days just having fun, never seen without the other.
Minx looked at the two of them now. They were getting ready, for something big. Jinx finalized her gemstone weapon wrapping its fabric strap around her shoulder. Her violet pink eyes hardly blinked as she loaded her pistol.
Minx's hands were shaking, they were really following through with this. She pulled her side purse filled with every chemical reaction crystal she could fit above her head before lacing up her boots.
After her final hours of sleep Minx felt rejuvenated, her eyes bright and clear. Her head was the most focused it had been in years, they had an objective, show them what they created.
Jinx's sterio played one of Minx's favorite songs the music filling the otherwise silent wind silo.
Minx held out her hand to her lover with an almost sad smile, "Care for a doomsday dance?"
The blue-haired girl looked up from her gun curiously, "Always one for sentimentalities, huh, toots?" She said, interlocking their fingers and pulling them onto an empty space on a metal turbine.
Their footwork was messy stepping on each other's toes and never quite getting the spin right but the two girls were happy with each other.
Their weapons and troubles had been forgotten and replaced by one last dance. One last chance to absorb the raw escence of each other before they both descended even further into the depths of hell they created.
