Chapter 14
22:59, 21 November 2018Perrie's POV
Today Alex was meeting my family for the first time, he was crapping himself I could tell but he honestly had nothing to worry about. My mam had been looking forward to meeting since I told her that I had a boyfriend. It was probably harder for him because he had two sides of my family to meet, my mam's side, with her and my brother, Jonnie's family and dad's side with his new family. I looked across the room at my boyfriend, frantically searching for clothes that he deemed appropriate to meet my family in. Bless him, I suppose I should help him out. I hopped off the bed and looked through his assortment of clothes, Jesus this boy had a million items of clothing that all looked the same. I ended up giving him black jeans, a black t-shirt and a black leather jacket, he looked fit in anything but this was a whole new level.
We were sat on the bed after we had both got changed and were planning to leave in 10 minutes. I ran my fingers through his hair in an attempt to calm him down, he gave me a weak smile back. "Babe do you trust me?" I asked him "yeah course I do" he replied, "then don't worry about anything, I love you, they'll love you, you make me happy, that's all they ever ask for" I told him, he kissed me "I love you more than anything else in this world, Pez I don't think you realise that" I kissed him again before pulling away, "come on, if we don't leave now, we never will" I said standing up as I did so. He kissed me one more time before making his way to the door.
It was a long drive up to Newcastle from London, a little over 5 hours. Still that was 5 hours for me and Alex to spend together, just us two. We sang songs, we talked, it looked like his nerves had all but gone. That was until we reached the sign that read South Shields, they were back. We pulled up at my mam's and I looked at the boy in front of me, I took his hands in mine, they were ice cold, "listen to me, you'll be fine I promise, don't worry" I tried to calm him down "you know I've never met a girlfriend's family" he told me, aww that made me smile, he really did think I was special "aww thanks baba, that makes me feel really special but promise me you'll just be yourself because that way they can't do anything but love you" I told him honestly.
Alex's POV
Wow, I wasn't even this nervous before the cup final. What was wrong with me? Come on Alex, pull it together. I finally opened the car door and took Perrie's hand as I walked up to the front door. She rang the doorbell because she knew I wouldn't and her mum answered the door. "Alex, I'm so happy to finally meet you" she basically screamed in my ear, I didn't mind though, it was cute and settled my nerves a little. Soon I met Perrie's brother Jonnie and his family as well as her aunt and cousin Ellie. Her mum asked me quite a bit about football and work etc but they were really nice people. You could tell her brother was protective of her but I think he warmed to me after a while, I don't blame him, I'll be exactly the same when it comes to Mads.
Perrie showed me upstairs, where we'd be staying for night, basically her room. It was really nice to see that she'd bought all this for her mum as a thank you for helping her when she was younger. Why was she so perfect? We walked back downstairs to the dinner table, it smelt incredible, I'd never had a Northern roast before but from Perrie's reviews they were good so I decided I'd be the judge of that.
I hate to admit it, but Perrie was right, Northern roasts were definitely the best I'd ever had. Everything was just cooked to perfection, maybe that's what made her so perfect. We sat back in the living room watching 'The Greatest Showman' for the five hundredth time, Perrie literally knows every single one of the lyrics now, it's ridiculous and it's not just the songs, it's the dialogue as well. Still, she was adorable as she recited the film, I didn't watch most of it, I just watched her recite it back to me.
Me and Perrie decided to go upstairs despite it only being 8pm, that 5 hour car journey had sapped the energy out of me and I needed it for tomorrow when I'd meet the other half of her family. That, I'm even more terrified about, her dad will be watching my every move to make sure that I'm going to be treating his daughter right, which is fair enough, I just hope I pass his test. Perrie snuggled into my side as we lay in bed, I was dreading going back to work on Tuesday, they'd given me an extra day off because my knee still had to be used lightly, but I didn't want to leave this angel by my side. She looked so peaceful with her eyes closed just laid there, wrapped under my protective arm. There was no way I was letting her go ever.
A/N not a lot is happening right now but I promise it will get more interesting, I just have to get it all set up in the story.
Also, thank you so much for 1k reads! That's actually mad! It's so weird for me to think that people are actually reading my work!
