Chapter 20: Together Forever

* a year later *

"Be a pirate Daddy !" "Argh !", said Jason making a pirate face. "You too, Mommy !" "Argh Matey !" Lexi laughs while me and Jason act like pirates. Bath time is Lexi's favorite part of the day. Me and Jason sit by the tub while Lexi plays with her bath toys. Jason is staring at Lexi and smiling. He's obsessed with her. He'll do anything to keep his princess safe and so will I. "Wow.", said Jason. "We did this."

"Did what ?", I ask. "We made her ! Like our love made this beautiful angel.", he said in such a happy voice. "I am beautiful aren't I ?", said Lexi with a smile. I kiss her forehead. "Yes you are cupcake." She smiles then looks at Jason. "Are we still watching Tarzan tonight Daddy ?"

"Of course we are sweetie, but you need to get out the tub." Did I mention how crazy and goofy Lexi is ? She got out of the tub. Before I could put the towel around her tiny body she ran out the bathroom. Me and Jason look at each other and laugh. We began to chase after Lexi. Our house is a bit big so she could be anywhere. I run past the stairs and here laughing. There's a closet next to the staircase. I motion Jason to come over slowly. The laughter continues and Jason gets the towel ready.

I grabbed the door handle and yank the door open. Lexi screams while Jason grabs her with the towel. He runs straight to her room and I follow. The house echos with our laughs. After we get her clothes on we sit in the living room. We start watching Lexi's favorite movie "Tarzan". She says he's wild like her. I can see it indeed.

"See Daddy, he's half man and half gorilla.", said Lexi pointing at Tarzan. "What happened to his parents ?", asked Jason. Apparently, he's never seen this movie. "They died.", said Lexi. "How ?", I ask her. "The jaguar did it.", she says with a small laugh. "He's Amazing. When I grow up I'm gonna visit Tarzan."

"Don't you think he'll be dead before you're old enough to leave the house ?", I say smirking. "No.", she says with a smile. "Are you sure cupcake ?", asked Jason smirking as well. "I'm sure, Daddy.", said Lexi with a yawn. "Sounds like someone's sleepy.", I say. "I'm not sleepy ! My eyes are just getting weak.", says Lexi trying to stay awake. "Let's go to bed cupcake.", said Jason. "No Daddy ! I'm not sleepy....."

Within twelve more minutes of the movie, Lexi fell asleep. She was peacefully sleeping on my lap. Jason took her upstairs and put her to bed. He came back downstairs and fixed us some wine. We began to have our own adult conversation. I laid my head on his chest while he stroked my hair.

"Did you ever think we'd end up like this ?", I ask him. "Like what ? A family ?", he says after taking a sip of his wine. "Yeah. Our journey together.", I say looking up at him. "I didn't think our family would be formed like this but I knew for a fact we would be together like this.", he says with a smile. "I'm glad we're back together.", I tell him. " We're a family now and that's all that matters.", says Jason stroking my hair more.

"I love you Jason McCann."

"I love you too Y/n Y/l/n."

I look at Jason and kiss his lips. It was passionate. I love this guy with all my heart. He's the guy I started with and the guy I want to end with. It was always Jason that had my heart. I'm wrapped around his finger. I can't live without him. I won't live without him. I'm in love with him. He's got me chained to his love.
