Chapter 2: Long Time No See

3 weeks went by and today my dad was going to start taking me to school everyday. The reason why is because I have only 2 more weeks of school until school was out for the summer and I go to college. The problem was he wasn't picking me up. I had to walk home. It's not a long walk. It's just I have to walk pass the basketball court that's near my house. That's where Jason and his friends hang out. I don't have a problem with Jason. He use to be my crush and stuff but things happened. As we drive to the school my brother Jake was sitting beside me listing to Rap God by Eminem. Don't get me wrong, I love that song and I love Eminem. It's just annoying when your brother barely knows the words. I took one ear bud out his ear and screamed.

"Hey, what the F-", Jake was cut off. "Don't you dare say it.", said my dad. "I was gonna say Flapjacks", he says rolling his eyes. "Sure you were", I say laughing. "So how are you feeling about these last 2 weeks of school?", Jake asked me. "I feel so amazing. I'm gonna be graduating then heading to college.", I say smiling and thinking about my adulthood. "Yeah....", says Jake looking away.

"Awww are you gonna miss me when I'm gone ?", I ask him, laying my head on his shoulder. "No cause then I'll have your room.", says Jake. " You dork !", I say laughing. I playful punched his arm then put my arm around his neck and began to playfully punch his head in. I let go and we both were laughing. "I better be honest before it's to late. I am gonna miss you.", my brother says looking sad. "Aw, I'm gonna miss you too Jake. But I promise to visit as much as I can though.", I say hugging him. "You better or I'll come and find you." "You'll never take me alive !"

Me and Jake laughed hard at my joke. We laughed the whole way to school. Me and Jake got out. We said our goodbyes to dad. It's Jack's last year of middle school so before we went off to our school I hugged him and kissed him on the cheek just to embarrass him.

"Eww cooties.", he said wiping his face and looking around making sure none of his friends saw. "You're in the 8th grade and you still talk about cooties ?", I laugh. "Whatever, anyways we gotta go or we'll be late." "Bye Jake. I love you.", I say. "I love you more.", says Jake.

"I love you the most.", I say. "I love you a thousand times more.", he says. "I love you a million times more !", I say. "I love you a billion times more.", he says smirking. "Fine you win dork.", I say chuckling. "I always do", he says proudly.

I hugged my brother one last time and walked to the door where Hailey, Willow, and Ariana were waiting for me. I love having conversations like that with my brother. I just want him to understand the love I have for him. When I hug him I never want to let him go because I know one day that when I do let go it might be my last time holding him. I walked up to my best friends.

"Hey bitch !", says Hailey hugging me. "Hey whores.", I say hugging the rest of them. "Ok, so you're still grounded ?", asked Willow. "Yea for one more week then I can party again.", I say smirking. "Yes, we're going to be so lit in college, I'm talking parties every night.", says Ariana doing a little dance. "Slow done, Ari.", says Hailey and we all laugh. "Yeah, but let's go to class, you know how Mrs.Williams is.", I say.

The day is almost over. Now, it's time for Math, lunch, then Gym. I only have Shawn in those last 2 classes. Today the teacher was letting us study with a partner. Hailey and Willow worked together. Ariana and Jaden, Willow's twin brother, worked together. They have some sort of love connection. That left me by myself. Well until....

"Hey Y/N, I see you don't have a partner.", said Shawn standing by my desk. "Oh hey Shawn, yea I don't.", I say blushing. "Me either.", he says with a small smile. "Bummer.", I say. "Yeah, but we can be partners if that's okay with you." "Yeah, that's totally fine.", I say excited. "Great. I'll grab my stuff and come sit next to you.", he says walking away.

The inside of me was screaming. I can't believe Shawn, my crush, actually wants to be my partner. I looked back at Willow and Hailey. Willow was making kissy faces at me. I rolled my eyes and motioned them to stop. Then, I was startled by the presence of Shawn as he was sitting down next to me.

We didn't really study. We just talked and got to know each other. I couldn't stop staring at those eyes. And those lips and his nice brown hair. He's just the perfect dream boy. We got interrupted by the bell telling us it was time for lunch. As I was walking out the door, Shawn walked behind and whispered in my ear.

"Oh and by the way. I was digging your dance moves at Hailey's party.", he says. I turn around and look at him and he gives me a wink making me blush like crazy. "Oh thanks.", I say with a smile.

I can't believe it. How come he didn't say anything a few weeks ago !? I sat down at the table me and the girls sit at every time we have lunch. We sat down and had a chat.

"So, I saw you and Mr. Perfect were partners today in math.", says Hailey giving me a light push. "He didn't have a partner and I didn't either, nothing more.", I say blushing. "You don't know that. What if he thinks different ?", says Willow winking. "Yeah, he's a boy. Who knows what goes on in his mind and eyes.", says Ariana.

"Well, when he's ready, he'll come to me I'm not making the first move."

"I taught you well, didn't I ?", said Hailey. "You taught me enough to survive high school.", I say stealing one of her carrots. "I'll take that.", she says.

As soon as Hailey said that, Jaden came out of no where. He ran up to our table and sat down breathing hard. He had his hand on his chest. "Jaden what's wrong ? What happened ?", said Ariana putting her hands on Jaden's face. "Yeah, you look hella tired.", I say not really caring. I took a large bite out of my apple. "Yeah, what you running from, you wussy ? Another ass whooping ?", says Willow laughing.

Jaden looked at Willow as she was sipping on her water bottle. She looked up then giggled at Jaden. Jaden and Willow are close like me and my brother. Willow always has Jaden's back. She can fight really good and sometimes she fights for Jaden. She has before and won. But at the end of the day, they love each other. Jaden playfully punched Willow in her arm as she was still giggling. "Shut up, dick face. But yeah, I am.", he says.

We all laughed at the fact Jaden is always running from a fight. It's funny cause he's in a gang. Jason's gang to be exact. And in gangs, I expect gang members to fight other gangs or people. I've been around Jason long enough to know stuff like this.

"Dude really ? Who is it this time ?", said Willow annoyed. Jaden hesitated and scratched the back of his neck. "Bobby.", he said looking down. I spit out my water I had started drinking. "You mean Catch a body Bobby !?", I ask. "That's the one.", he says nervously. "Jaden, what the hell !? Out of all the guys in the school you had to fuck with the biggest one !?", said Ariana annoyed.

"Uhh sorry, but it was the other way around. He wouldn't stop talking about my sister.", said Jaden crossing his arms. "Aww, this is so random. You've never fought because someone was talking about me.", said Willow hugging Jaden. "I've been in arguments with guys over you plenty of times.", said Jaden ruining the moment he was having with Willow. "Yeah, sure.", she said shoving him off.

"Anyway, the reason I came over here, was to ask Y/N a question.", he says making me look up. "What is it" "You're walking home after school right ?", he asked me. "Yea I am. How did you know ?", I ask. "Doesn't matter. Anyways, can I walk with you ? Cause I know you're walking pass the basketball court and that's where Jason is and I'm still hiding from big Bobby and I remembered that he won't fight around girls and-", he says and I cut him off.

"Ok Jaden, slow down.", I say laughing. "So, can I please ?", he asked. "Sure, I don't mind.", I say stealing another one of Hailey's carrots. "Thank you ! Now, I gotta go hide."

After he said that he got up and ran away. We watched him until he could no longer be seen. We continued to eat and talk to each other. "So, I'm planning the biggest party of the year which is this Saturday coming up.", she says. "Oh thank god. I'll be un-grounded then.", I say relieved. "Next time, don't drink so much.", says Willow making me laughing. "More like don't drink at all.", says a smirking Ariana. "Aww, shut up you whores and let Hailey finish."

After school, I had like ten minutes before I had to walk home. Jaden wasn't here yet, so I'd just wait for him with the girls. We continued to talk about Hailey's party. "So yeah, also wear something hot.", says Hailey. "I always wear something hot.", says Willow filing her nails. "Yeah, all of us do. I mean we're not the most poplar girls in school but we are popular.", I say earning a high five from Hailey. "Yeah, I already know what I'm gonna be wearing right now.", says Ariana.

For the next five minutes we chatted about boys. Not a lot is said when we talk about boys at school. We usually do it at slumber parties. Next thing you know, Jaden came out. "You ready to go ?", he asked me. "Yeah, I guess so.", I say with a shrug. "Bye Willow. See you at home. Don't forget to tell mom where I am."

Jaden embraced Ariana in a tight hug. They hugged like they never wanted to let go of each other. Like how me and my brother hugged this morning. They let go of each other and me and Jaden walked off. We talked and walked at the same time. "So, what ever happened to you and Jason ?", he asked out of the blue.

"Wow ok well-", I start. "You don't have to answer if you don't want to.", he says. "It's fine, but there isn't much to say. Things got wild. He lost his brother and started to do more bad things than he already did. When he would get caught I would get scared and think that I'll never see him again. I couldn't handle it.", I say remember all the things me and Jason had been through.

"Then Selena came in the picture. That's what messed me up. I still have some feelings for him, maybe. I just miss having him around in school more.", I say starting to get sad. "Dang. I never knew you had it bad for Jason like that.", said Jaden putting his hand on my shoulder. "Now you know the truth.", I say giving him a small smile.

After I said that I realized that we had arrived at the basketball court. The whole gang was there. Jason, Za, Khalil, and Selena. I don't like Selena. She uses Jason for his money. Everywhere you go you see Selena wearing the most beautiful clothes. I'm not going to hate because her outfits are cute. But Jason's blind. One day he'll know. Justin and Za was playing basketball together.

"I'm gonna be honest with you Y/N, you're like a sister to me, so I'll do anything for you. For all of you girls, especially my sister.", he says to me grabbing my hand. "Thanks Jaden.", I say. He's a really sweet guy. "No problem. And keep your head up.", he says embracing me in a hug. "I will."

I hugged Jaden and then he walked off. I could see Jason and Za were looking at us. One thing about Za is that we use to always joke around with people. We use to call ourselves flirt buddies. We just did it for fun and to get laughs and we still do it. Za called out to me.

"Hey sexy !", says Za with a wave. "Hey handsome !", I say back. "Long time no see.", he says. "We gotta catch up sometime."

"We will, mark my words.", I say. I can still see Jason staring at me. I turned to walk away.

"Aye Shawty, wait up !"

I turned around to see Jason coming towards me. I saw Selena. She had her arms around Khalil while he was on his phone. "Wassup Jason.", I say. "Nothing much, just wanted to speak to you.", he says. "Oh.", I say not really wanting to speak to him. "Yeah uh....I haven't seen you in a while.", he says carrying on the conversation. "Yeah, same to you.", I say looking away. "What you been up to lately ?"

"Nothing, just packing for college.", I say. "Oh yeah. I forgot you guys are graduating.", he says with an awkward laugh. "To be honest, I miss being in school with you guys.", he says. I missed him too, but he doesn't have to know. "You can still go to school. Just go to college.", I say trying to help him out. "I'll think on it", he says.

I started to turn away but he grabbed my arm and looked me in the eyes. "I think we should talk more.", he says giving me a small smile. "Yeah, maybe.", I say refusing to make eye contact. "Can I maybe have your number so I can call you and talk ?", he asks nicely. "Sure."

I took out my phone and he did the same. I gave him the number and we put our phones away. "So Y/N...", he says. "Yeah ?", I say. "I was thinking maybe we could-" Before Jason could finish his sentence Selena barged in between us pushing Jason farther back. "Hey babe ! Who's the chick ?", she asked looking me up and down.

"This is Y/N.", Jason says with a nervous look on his face. "Oh wow.", says Selena rolling her eyes. "Can you chill ?", Jason whispers is to her. "I am chill baby. What's wrong ?", she says so innocently. "Nothing I was just trying to talk to h-"

"Shut up and just kiss me."

Selena grabbed Jason's face and crashed her lips on Jason's lips. At first, Jason wasn't kissing back. Then I seen his hands go down to her ass and he grabbed it. I turned to walk away because I got uncomfortable. I don't know what came over me but I was mad. As I'm walking back I hear Jason calling for me. I ignore it and walk a little faster. Finally, I arrived home. My brother and Dad are already in the kitchen.

"How was school ?", asked my dad. He was biting a apple. "It was fine.", I say sitting my bag on the floor. "How was Jason ?", said Jake smirking. "He's -wait how did you know I was talking to Jason ?", I asked confused.

"When dad told me to go get the mail from the mailbox, I saw you at the basketball court talking to him.", he says. "Wow, you're a awesome spy.", I say rolling my eyes and being sarcastic. "Thank you.", said Jake. "But how is Jason ?", my dad asked.

"He's doing better.", I say not really wanting to talk about Jason. "That's great ! It's been a while." "Who cares. Anyway, Y/N you ready to watch teen beach movie ?", says Jake. "Heck yea ! Let's go. You coming Dad ?" "I guess.", he says with a small smile.

Me, Jake, and Dad sat in the living room watching the movie. Jason texted me but I didn't want to answer because I was still mad. I just wanted to hang with my family right now.
