Chapter 17 (D3)

It is now VK Day! The day where four more kids for the Isle will have the chance to come and live in Auradon prep! Misty had been anticipating this day for over a year now. Her dream from when she first made her proclamation was finally coming true. Misty seemed more excited then the VK's themselves. The night of VK Day she had stayed in Audrey's room for their weekly sleepover. (Audrey's idea so she could force Misty to take care of herself.) 

The morning of before the sun rose, Misty jolted awake from her spot on Audrey's bed and quickly goes to her room to get changed. She wasn't going with the VK's to the Isle but she still had to do some final preparations before the VK's were able to head back to the Isle. 

After she finished getting ready for the day, she strutted over to her office and began her tasks for today. When she walked behind her desk she sees a sealed letter waiting on a stack of papers for her. She tilts her head to the side a bit and picks up the letter and immediately recognizes the wax seal on the envelope. It was from Harry. She smiles to herself and sits in her chair and opens the letter.

She reads the letter as the sun slowly began to rise in the window behind her. The letter contained more stories from Harry about the Isle as usual. But this time, Harry had expressed how his sisters had gotten Auradon interest forms that she had sent out weeks ago. Misty smiled to herself. she was glad that people close to Harry were willing to want a second chance. She only hoped that Harry would want this too. 

After reading Harry's letter she puts it in a box with the rest of his letters and goes back to her desk. She sits in her chair and grabs some of the final requests from the council and some final paperwork that needed to be arranged before VK Day can official start.

An hour after Misty wakes up Audrey rises from her bed and notices her best friend was gone. She furrows her eyebrows and looks around for her while rubbing the sleep from her eyes. As she walks around her room and in the corner of her eye she notices the calendar on her wall. She slowly walks over to it and squints, taking a closer look at the date. In blue ink the words 'VK DAY' were written. Audrey scoffs softly to herself. She knew exactly where her friend had went, to prep for VK Day. 

Audrey still wasn't to fond of the villain kids, a mixture of what happened at Misty's coronation and the VK's constantly taking her best friend away from her was tainting her view on loved group. Misty had been her best friend first and of course she naturally felt a bit jealous, but she would never tell Misty that.

As the final touches of VK Day were finally done, Misty sends the VK's to the Isle to make the decision on who will be in the next group to have a second chance in Auradon. Misty waited and watched on the tv in her office along with Ben as Mal and the rest of the group made their decisions. In conclusion, four kids were picked : Dizzy Tremaine, Squeaky and Squirmy and Celia Facilier. Once Misty saw the news she immediately got started on the new kid's paper work, she makes a mental note to have Fairy Godmother sign the certificates as well as some other paperwork finalizing the new kid's enrollment into Auradon Prep.

A week has passed and now it was time for the new villain kids to finally arrive in Auradon. Speaking of Auradon, preparations for the new kids was in full swing. As Misty was walking towards the front of the building she passes by a window and sees her brother and Mal outside having a conversation. she stops in her tracks and walks over to the window. She smiles to herself as she watches the two have a moment. She admired the relationship the two had, she found it sweet. 

After a moment she lets out a soft sigh and makes her way towards the couple and smiles "You ready you two?" Mal and Ben turn to her still in an embrace and smiles to her and they give her a small nod. They all walk back inside and make their way to the front of the school where everyone was going to greet the newcomers as well as where Ben was going to surprise Mal with a little something. Once they all got outside the band started playing as they were being escorted to the temporary platform in the middle of the grounds. As the y all walked out they greeted and smiled at everyone they passed. In the corner of Misty's eye she notices Chad, Audrey, and Audrey's grandma all looking displeased with the environment and the situation.

Misty passes by the three and places a hand on Audrey's shoulder and gives her a smile, letting her know that everything was going to be okay. Audrey returns the smile and gives her a small nod but goes back to her upset demeanor. She sighs as she lets go and steps up onto the platform along with her brother and Mal.

As soon as the band stops playing Fairy God Mother speaks into the microphone. "Bippity- Boppity, one, two, one, two. Can everybody hear me?" She says to the crowd. Everybody around her cheers. She then turns to the three on the platform and hands the microphone to Misty who was standing in between Mal and Ben. M smiles and takes the microphone "Thank you Fairy God Mother. Hello People of Auradon!" Everyone cheers after her greeting. "Thank you. I just wanted to say a big thank you for coming out to welcome our new arrivals. They will be here soon." She says smiling

Off to the side Audrey's grandma mutters "Not like we had a choice." Misty pretends that she didn't hear it but she heard it loud and clear. She continues speaking "It worked out pretty well for the first four." She chuckles. Then from next to Audrey Chad speaks up "Yeah, especially for Ben." Once Misty hears this her eye twitches. Audrey notices this and snaps her fingers at Chad "Really funny." She says unimpressed and rolls her eyes.

Misty then gives a small smile to the crowd "Before we continue, Ben would like to make an announcement." She then hands the microphone to her brother and steps off of the platform and moves to stand beside her parents.

Ben takes the microphone and turns to face Mal. "Mal, this is the exact spot we first met not so long ago. I feel like I've known you my whole life. But did I mention, I'm in love with you?"  Everyone in the crowd, expect for a few cooed at the words of endearment. Off to the side Doug begins to play on his acoustic guitar. 

Once Mal recognizes the tune she lets out a sob. Ben then begins to start singing "I met this girl that rocked my world lie its never been rocked. And now I'm living just for her and I won't ever stop." Ben then starts to slowly spin with Mal "I never thought that it could happen to a guy like me But now look aw what you've done." He reaches into his pocket and slowly starts to bend down on one knee. "You got me down on my knee." Both Mal and Audrey's jaws dropped as this unfolded.

Ben pulls out a ring box and faces it towards Mal. "Mal, it's you and me. It's you and me forever." Mal gasps and covers her mouth with her hands as tears start to form in her eyes. "Will you marry me? Will you be my Princess?" Ben asks as he opens the ring box to a beautiful gold ring with a purple gemstone in the middle.

Audrey then shouts "No!" and right after Mal says "Yes!" At this everyone starts cheering and clapping. Ben places the ring on Mal's finger and they bring each other in for a kiss. Everyone around them continues to cheer and celebrate. Misty celebrates with her friends and her parents.

Misty notices her best friend off to the side so she goes up to check up on her. As she walks over to her she overhears Audrey's grandma say "A lifetime of plans, gone.Our family status, gone." Misty's eyebrows furrowed as she hears her grandma's words "Audrey, you were supposed to be his Princess, and you let him slip through your fingers. Your mother could hold onto a prince in her sleep." Misty's ball into fists at the words as she starts to strides over to her friend. "Don't you think I feel bad enough already, Grammy? What is wrong with everybody" Misty places a hand on her shoulder and gives her a gentle squeeze. Audrey looks over at her and gives her a thin look and a sigh.

Misty then walks back to her parents' sides as Mal walks up to Misty's dad and gives him a hug. Mal them gives Belle a hug "I finally have a daughter" Misty is kinda taken aback about the statement, she playfully scoffs "Uh hello?" Belle and Mal turn to her and smile "You know what I mean" Belle says chuckling. Misty didn't but this wasn't about her so she brushed it off.

Mal then goes to hug Misty. Misty gives her a big hug and smiles. "If he does something stupid, tell me and I'll knock some sense into him for you." They both laugh as they both pull away from the hug. "I'm so happy for you, I cant wait to see you in action, Princess Mal" she chuckles and winks at her.  They both laugh and hug again. After they hug Mal goes around and hugs everyone else and has an interesting conversation with Audrey.

Soon it was time for the new kids to come to Auradon, A purple limo pulls in and the VK's, Misty and Ben all get into the car as people continue to cheer. The drive was quick, but most of the drive all Misty was thinking about if she would be able to see Harry when she got to the Isle. She had wondered if he would be there. She knew it was probably best not to get her hopes up, but a girl can dream.

As the new kids were putting their bags in the truck of the limo, Mal, Ben and Misty were all greeting the families of the children as well as citizens who were just there to see what was going on. Everyone piles back into the limo. Misty looks around one more time to see just a glimpse of Harry or his sisters but to no avail.

While in the limo, Misty was watching the VK's interact with the new kids with a small smile on her face. Then Celia grabs Misty's attention with some card tricks. she fans the cards out in front of her and Celia gestures for her to take one. Misty smiles and picks a random card facing it down. Celia holds out her hand and Misty places it faced down into her palm. Misty notices Mal and Ben looking over at the interaction.

Celia looks at the card and nods "You are going to be a wise and brave Queen" She says turning the card around. Mal smiles "She already is." Misty looks at the card with awe "See? The cards never lie. Celia says as she holds out her hand and M pulls out her wallet and hands her a good amount of cash and puts it into her hand. Celia smiles widely as she sees how much she received.

Soon the limo pulls near the barrier as it opens to let the vehicle out. As soona s the barrier was about to close a man with blue firey hair known as Hades sticks his hand through the gold barrier. Everyone in the car turns to see what is happening and Jay stops the car. Everyone gets out of the car and Misty steps a little bit in front of Mal and Ben trying to shield them if needed.

Hades peaks through the barrier yelling "I am a God. I don't belong here." As the guys launch forward Hades' ember takes them down with a few flashes of blue. From beside Misty, she hears Mal start to breathe  heavily. She looks over to her her and sees her eyes flash a bright green color. In a cloud of purple Mal transforms into her dragon form.

Hades looks up at dragon Mal and shoots a power beam (?) at her, seeming to weaken her. Mal then shoots a fire ball at him causing him to fall back and close the barrier. Mal transforms back into her regular self with Ben and Evie at her sides stabilizing her.  They all get back into the limo and head back to Auradon. Mal sits between Ben and Misty. She leans into Ben while Misty places a comforting hand on her shoulder. 

Misty was starting to get a strange feeling again, and when she does it's never a good thing.
