Chapter 14

Hailey's POV

It's been 2 weeks since I was attacked and there has been no appearance of Rebecca or even talk about it. I know that they've been talking about it because they go and have meeting some where without me, they're keeping me out of it.

Elliot knows we were here which means Rebecca knows too so the boys have decided to pick up and move again, but back to the old house that they all loved. They've signed the house over to me which means I can invite in whatever Vampires I want. If I have the house in my name, Rebecca cant get in.

I've barely talked to Harry over the past couple of weeks which kills me because I hate knowing that he's going through something but wont talk to me. I don't know what it is, before that night he couldn't keep his eyes or hands off of me and now it's like he's avoiding me leaving me utterly confused. I either spend my time alone in my bedroom reflecting on anything that comes to mind or I'll hangout with Liam.

Zayn and I still don't really talk, pretty sure he still hates me. Louis sides with Harry on everything and is basically replacing me because they're always together and Niall is just not trying to get in the middle of it.

The boys were in another one of their meetings downstairs in the dungeon. I've only been down there once when I saw Zayn torturing Rebecca, which I should have let go on. I knew if I tried to sneak up on them they'd hear  me so I stood at the top of the stairs trying to listen in but it was useless. I could hear mumbles and occasionally a few words from different pieces of sentences but I constantly heard two names; Rebecca and Hailey.

I didn't like being out of the loop especially when it involved me and my well being. I leaned in slightly, sticking my head in the door way and concentrating on Louis' voice.

"She's safe in the house that's about it." he said making me listen harder.

"My mum's working on it, I went and saw her last night and she's almost done." Harry said making my eyes widen. He's been talking to his mum, making deals or whatever he's doing, and didn't tell me. Suddenly Zayn appeared infrront of me making me gasp and stumble back.

"I'm sorry." He mouthed making me furrow my brows. He slammed the door shut and locked it making me jump. I groaned and rolled my eyes, stomping down the hall and heading out the back door and into the back yard. I sat down on one of the lawn chairs, wondering if they even cared that currently Rebecca could come and snatch me as I lied here like live bait.

"Hailey." Someone said shaking me roughly making me sit up and as my eyes pried open.

"what?" I asked rubbing my eyes. My arm was grabbed onto and I was dragged inside with a slam of a door behind me. I was sat down and I looked up to find an angry Harry standing over me.

"You exposing yourself is kind of ruining the whole plan." He growled making me stand up and push past him, heading down the hall. I could hear him following me but I kept walking, ignoring his presence.

"Hailey." He said softer this time.

"What!?" I snapped spinning around making his eyes widen slightly. His eyes shifted over to the left and back to me making me look over at the 4 boys stare back at us.

"Mind giving us privacy?" I asked as they all sat there stiff except for Liam who gave me an apologetic look and sunk back in his spot. I looked back at Harry who was starring down at me.

"What is this? Some sort of team against me?" I asked loudly as Harry kept his stare on me. I sighed and turned back around heading towards the front door and walking out.

"Hailey!" Harry said chasing me.

"I just want to go home Harry." I said as we got on the porch and he closed the door behind him.

"You cant." He said quietly.

"I'm just as safe at home than I am here. I want to be with my parents." I said making him hang his head.

"If you're there I cant protect you." He said looking upset.

"Is that what you're doing Harry? Protecting me? By keeping me out of these stupid meetings, talking about my well being when I'm not there. Talking to your mum about me and not telling me, pulling deals with her and trying to keep me safe. BUT NOT TELLING ME?" I yelled making him stiffen.

"Yes Hailey, I don't want you apart of it." He boomed back.

"It's my life Harry. Technically I am apart of it." I snapped making him sigh and rub his temples making me roll my eyes at him.

"You haven't talked to me in 2 weeks. I think it's best if I go home, if I just get out of here and go back home with my family and friends. I wont tell anyone your secret, I haven't yet and i'm not going to. It's safe with me and I'll be safe." I said watching his face turn completely from anger to sadness. The sound of a car rolling in the drive way rang in my ears and I looked over my shoulder to find Annie right on time.

"You already called her...?" Harry asked quietly making me nod and look back at him and nod.

"I called her last night and told her to be here today around 4." I said making him stand taller, the anger come back on his face.

"I was just protecting you and now you're leaving!?" He yelled making me flinch. "So now what? We go our separate ways and never see eachother again when I'm trying so desperately to keep you safe?" He asked frustrated.

"We will see eachother again Harry." He just froze and stood there making me sigh slightly. I went on my tippy toes and kissed his cheek before pulling back.

"I'll send for my things." I said quietly before walking off the porch and heading over to Annie's car. I got in and I felt her stare on me.

"You okay?" She asked putting her hand on my knee. I nodded and looked over at her forcing a smile. I looked up as she pulled out of the drive way and he was gone.

Harry's POV

It's been an hour since she left and I still have the same anger in my body as when she told me.

She's gone. She just left leaving me wondering why the hell she did it. As soon as she left I went crazy, the anger pulsing through me harder than it ever has and I just had the instinct to kill but I couldn't bring my self to do it.

"Harry calm down!" Louis said running into the study as I threw things at the wall, indenting it. A dozen holes in the wall where now there because of me. I stood there almost shaking, breathing as heavily as I could as it all crashed down on me making me realize, she was gone.

"She's gone Lou." I said hunching over, falling onto the couch. He rushed over beside me and sat there as I starred at the ground, not feeling anything but a hole in my chest.

"Then what are you doing here?" He asked making me look over at him as he had a slight smile on his face.

"Go chase her." He whispered making me study his face.

"Really?" I asked.

"She's a girl, girls love being chased. It makes them feel wanted or something like that, I don't know. Just go chase her." He said pushing me up.

"Thanks  Lou." I said making him nod.

"Go." He said loudly. I ran out the room and grabbed my keys before darting towards the car and speeding towards her house as fast as she could.

There were no cars in the driveway but lights were on which gave me hope to her being home. I ran up the pathway and onto the porch before banging on the door. I listened to a door open and someone walk down the stairs before the door unlocked and open. She stood there almost shocked to see me.

"I have to talk to you, please let me explain it all." I said out of breath. She nodded and stepped aside slightly.

"You can come in." She said making me shake my head.

"Lets go for a walk." I said making her raise one eyebrow.

"A walk? But.."

"Come on, it's okay." I said holding my hand out for her. She looked down at my hand then back at me.

"We cant live in fear." I said making her nod. She grabbed onto my hand and closed the door behind her and immediately I interlocked out fingers and squeezed onto her hand making her look down at our hands then up at me. I left my car in her drive way and we just went for a walk. Eventually it was taking too long so I pulled her on my back and we ran to the destination.

It was a park that sat on a tall hill that over looked the small town. She sat down on the hill amazed over looking the lit up city as I sat down beside her.

"wow." She said making me smile.

"My mum's working on a spell, one that will kill Rebecca without any of us having too. Basically it's like an aging spell and itll work within a couple hours." I said making her look up at me.

"When is she doing it?" She asked making me sigh.

"That's the hard part. We need something of hers to make the connection. My mum wants a lock of hair, she says that it's the strongest but there's the problem of getting it. That's what most of these meetings have been about, deciding how we would do it. Most of us have agreed to trying and getting it ourselves." I explained.

"And who didn't agree?" I asked.

"Zayn." I said making her chuckle.

"Of course."

"Zayn's idea is good but it's too risky, I don't want you doing it." I said making her look confused.

"It involves me?" She asked making me nod.

"His idea was to call Rebecca in and let her know that we want to talk. You'll be downstairs with her in the dungeon as a distraction. The idea is to get her mad enough she will go at you and that's where we come in. We grab her and chain her down so she cant move and take the hair lock then bring it to my mum. Rebecca will stay chained until the spell is completed." I explained watching as her face stayed emotionless during the entire explanation.

"What are your thoughts?" I asked.

"I'll do it." She said making my eyes widen, I half expected her to say no.

"It's dangerous though, you could get hurt." I said grabbing onto her hand making her look up at me.

"You care about my safety too much." She said pulling her hand back and standing up making me stand up along with her.

"And that's a bad thing?" I asked confused.

"you obsess over it. I'm 19, I've taken care of myself long enough I know the right and wrong decisions to make. You aren't my father.." She snapped.

"You're mad..." I said quietly.

"Yes! You've barely spoken to me over the past couple of weeks and it's so confusing. I don't get it Harry, what did I do to make you ignore me? Everything was going good and then bam, you just stopped talking to me or looking at me or acknowledging my existence. What kind of coward does that?" She yelled making my insides boil.

"You want to know why I did that?" I asked loudly stepping forward making her shrink back slightly, regretting pissing me off.

"Yes." She said trying to stand her ground.

"Because someone was coming after you already, if we continued talking wouldn't that make it worse? You even said yourself you were scared to see where things went because  you could get killed of it. I'm scared to love you like I do because you could get killed for my selfish feelings and if you were killed I don't know what I'd do Hailey, I broke down because you left, if  you died I wouldn't want to live." I yelled watching her face soften as she stood her ground. I breathed heavily starring down at her as my shoulders rose and sunk. Her hand grabbed onto mine making me look down at them as she was the one to squeeze my hand now.

"Did you say you love me?" She whispered making me process what I had just said. And sure enough I confessed finally that I love her. I nodded and moved into her leaning down.

"I love you Hailey and you don't even have to feel it or say it back, just know I love you." I whispered into her. Her free hand snaked around my neck and pulled me into her as our lips crashed onto each others. She dug her hand in my hair as my free hand traveled to her lower back, bringing her torso into mine. The kiss was perfect, not to intense but just intense enough as she managed to take my breath away like she always does.

"I love you too." She whispered into my lips.

Suddenly it was like all the fear in the world was gone because she felt the same feeling I did. This gave me motivation to rid Rebecca of her perfect life and keep her with me because this is the happiest moment of my life and I'm not letting anyone ruin it.
