Chapter 51: Yes To The Dress!

I normally liked shopping, I just didn't like being under pressure as I shopped. I had no clue what I was looking for in a dress today, but I knew it which would be the one once my eyes saw it. I had done research on a few dresses, but trying them on in person was always better. My whole bridal party had flown out for today so we could go pick dresses. Since I'm Sidney Crosby's wife not a single dress place said anything about me bringing a whole bunch of people. Now as for how much I was gonna spend, I guess sky was the limit considering the fact I was marrying thee Sidney Crosby but I decided 2,500 should be the maximum.

Nathalie was tagging along to, to me she was a second mother. We were all at my house waiting for everyone to show up. I straightened my hair for today and wore jeans and a red flannel, it was comfortable for me.

"Who are we waiting for now?" Asked Aerin as she took a seat in between Clarissa and Taylor

"My cousin and my old team mate" Just than there was a honk in the driveway

"That's them I exclaimed, lets go!"

When we got to the first appointment I had my bridal party search the store and pick a dress they liked, their picking would stay secret. The lady who was helping me picked a few dresses of her own, I had told her I was looking into a mermaid type dress, with rihnstones. Once everyone had picked a dress I gathered them in the back room with the help of the lady, her name was Rose. She helped me into the first dress, a very elegant mermaid dress. This dress wasn't very tight, the top was a corset and the bottom was flowey. The corset part went down to my butt before it stopped, than there was beautiful rhinestones around it. It was a very simple dress but I really liked it. I was helped out to the viewing room and onto the platform where I showcased the dress to my bridal party.

"I love it, but I don't think it's the one" said Clarissa

"Same here" said Taylor and Nathalie, so I went to try on more dresses.

Now the next dress was mermaid two, with gorgeous beading around the top. The back opened up into a heart, another simple dress. The bridal party approved but I still didn't believe this was the one. There was two more dresses to try on, the next was a ballroom style one with a christal like belt around the waist. The top part was bedazzled two and the back of the dress was longer, I would need someone to hold it during the wedding. Once I tried it on I realized I would be sticking with mermaid. The last dress was something I had eyed the whole time we were there.

It was a mermaid dress, the top part was tighter but on the right side it extended downward a bit more, on the left the tightness stopped just below my hip. From the tighter part of the dress "ruffles" came outward, giving the dress a bigger feel. The ruffles came out all around the bottom of the dress, perfectly layering on top of each other. The ruffles shined with the beautiful hand sown crystals they had on them and the top tighter part of the dress had the fabrics weave in different ways, some went left while others went under while going right. When I walked into the showcase room everyone held their breath a little, so did I when I looked into the mirror. The dress encased every curve in the right way, it hugged me beautifully. I had tears in my eyes as I turned around and looked at the back, I knew right away this was the dress.

"This is the one" laughed my cousin

"I think it is" said Nathalie

"So is this the dress?" Asked Rose, my helper

My hands came over my mouth as I looked into the mirror with disbelief. I couldn't fathom who I was looking at, I had never thought I would be seeing myself in such a gorgeous wedding dress.

"This is it" I said with a shaky voice, my face had become bright red as I started to cry.

"Don't cry yet we have to take pictures!" Laughed Taylor, she than pulled out a medium canvas from her bag.

"Hold this up, make sure we can see the ring!" I looked at the canvas and across it was painted "I said yes to the dress" the yes was written in rhinestones. "Wait let's put on this vail" said Rose, she clipped a long elegant vail into my hair, it went perfectly with the dress.

"Okay I wanna see the ring and than have the canvas cover most of your face"

"Like this?" I said as I peeked my eyes out from the top, my hand gripped around the canvas to show my ring. "Yep!" The picture was taken fairly close, so you could tell I was in a dress but you couldn't see the dress. (I'm referring to Lauren Cosgrove, Tj Oshie's fiancé, a picture like this was posted on her Instagram if you want to see it, it was such a cute idea)

I found the perfect wedding dress and when I came back out in my regular clothes Nathalie was holding a royal blue dress.

"What's that?" I asked as I approached her

"I was going through the bridesmaid dresses, this is so cute" I turned it around, she was right, it was gorgeous. It was royal blue, just like my wedding colors, and it was long but with a slit on the side. The slit was opened pretty widely to show off some leg, the top was a sweat heart neckline and was hand done with crystal beading.

"Girls" I called out

"Yea?" They said as they came over to me

"Can you guys try these on please?" They each took a dress and where helped into it. Once the girls came out from the dressing room, I was complexity blown away by the beautifulness of the dress.

Nathalie and Clarissa stood next to me, and we were in awe.

"I think we just found our bridesmaid dresses" I laughed

"They look stunning" said Clarissa, she didn't want to try anything on with that baby bump of hers but I understood

"So this is the dress and they aren't priced bad either, only 150. I was thinking do you guys want this to be part of the bridal present?"

"We can't ask you to pay for them, plus I herd you have some pretty cool presents in mind" said my cousin, she was right I had a whole bunch of gifts ready for the girls. the girls made it their responsibility to order the dress within a week so they could get it altered. As for me I had multiple dress fittings scheduled to make sure the dress really did fit perfectly.

"Babe I'm home!" I yelled as I walked trough the front door. I found Sid stuffing his face with a mountain of pasta.

"How did it go?" he said after he swallowed a whole forkful of spaghetti.

i took out the picture and showed him the one where I was holding the canvas

"I can't believe I have to wait so long" he mumbled

"It's makes it all the more special!" I said as I took a seat on his lap, distracting him from his food.

"I have something for you" he smirked than pulled an envelop from his back pocket.

"Plane tickets?"

"For our honey moon"

"How come it doesn't say where were going?"

"Cause those are fake tickets, the honey moon is a surprise" he laughed

"Sidney Patrick Crosby, this is my honey moon as much as it is yours and you are going to tell me where we are going" I demanded as I got off his lap

"Eh maybe"

"Sid!" I yelled the pushed him off the chair, I tackled him to the floor than sat onto of him.

"Okay okay! Were going to the Bahamas"

"Really?!" I was overwhelmed with excitement

"Yes really, can I go back to eating my food now?"

Later that day there was an unexpected knock at the door, behind it stood Geno. As soon as the door was opened Star came rushing over and greeted him with kisses, Geno sure had a way with animals.

"Hey G" I said as I hugged him

"Hey" he said gloomily

"What's the matter?" I said as we made our way into the kitchen.

"Stuff" he mumbled

"What could be wrong? Your trip looked awsome, that whale shark was huge!" I exclaimed

"I know I know but girlfriend no happy you know? I no happy" he said in his think Russian accent, something that fans went crazy for

"Why not G?"

"She doesn't want to start a family, I want kids" he frowned

"Aw G" I hugged him

"You'd be the best father ever, I know it but maybe it just isn't the time"

"I don't wanna wait any longer" he sighed

"Have you ever thought about adoption?"

"No"

"You don't need a wife to have babies" I laughed, just than Sid walked in in his pjs.

"Hey G, why are you here?"

"Just wanted to talk and see Star" he looked over to the dog who was still sitting at his side.

We spent most of the night with Geno until we decided to call it quits and head to bed, they both had practice tomorrow.

"I feel bad for him" I said to Sid as I snuggled up against his side in bed

"He just wants a family so bad"

"You know what would make him happy?"

"What?"

"What if we had our own kid and Geno became the God father?"

"But what about your brothers?"

"Sid I'm sure we'll have more than one kid that they can be godfathers to"

"I agree, I want a girl and boy" he laughed

"Well I don't control that" I laughed, Sid began sucking on my neck, causing me to moan a bit.

"Sid" I said between gasps "I don't want a baby right now" I said as I pulled away

"Whatever" he laughed, than turned on his side.

All night I couldn't stop thinking about how much I needed to get done. I had to pack for Sochi, finish planning the baby shower, finish planning my own wedding, oh and you can't forget christmas.

Once Christmas rolled around, Sid didn't have much time off due to his just schedule so my brothers flew out to Pittsburgh and so did Sid's parents and sister. We had a nice family meal than after we exchanged gifts. Baby Sophia was showered in gifts from me, as for Sid he got a new jacket and a few small gifts. In exchange he gave me a diamond heart necklace, probably my new favorite piece of jewelry.

For New Years Ever we were all at Geno's place, the whole team. It was a nice little get to together and everyone had fun. I hung out with the girls for most of the night, we all talked about how the roster for USA would be released tomorrow, I ha actually got a peak at it. I was happy with all the names called, I believed they would have a good chance at gold. There was also a lot of rumors circulating that Sid would be named captain for Canada.

I loved Canada so much, almost as much as I loved Sid but I've reminded him time and time again that I would be supporting him, not Canada, this was because I was American. id be secretly hopping for the US to pull put a win but I also wanted Sid to succeed. The New Years Eve I got my NYE kiss with Sid, something I'll never forget, I had never had one before I dated Sid. Life seemed to be getting crazier by the day with me but it was only the beginning.
