The Sacred Weapon (Chapter 21)

08:02, 31 December 2016

Quote:"You can't break what has already been broken."

"So you want my help to build a sacred weapon?" I ask Hepheastus.

"Well......yes." he said.

"Do the other gods know?" I ask.

".......no" Hepheastus says nervously.

"Then I'm in." I grin.

Hepheastus sighs in relief, this project must be very important.

"So, who is the weapon for?" I ask him.

"You"ll see, don't worry. Come to my forge tomorrow morning, 7:00 AM, and I will show you my plans and progress." He informed me and flashed out.

I nodded to him before he flashed, and I warped myself back to my house. Home, sweet home. Blackjack was resting in my bedroom since for some reason, he likes it there more than his stable, but I let him sleep there. After the Doomsday event, Mrs.O'Leary hunted me down for days apparently and found me in the cabin. She was so excited to see me, and even more excited when I could summon huge dog biscuits for her. Also, she could communicate with Blackjack, who could communicate with me. I had built a room near the stables for her, but she prefers to sleep in my room also for some reason. Lucklily, neither of them snore. Or drool.

(Let the BlackJack x Mrs. O'Leary shipping sink in..)

(Just kidding, seriously please do not make that a thing)

So I relaxed in a chair, after a long days work.....not really. I still wasn't remotely tired, and I still wanted action. Hepheastus is on my good side, he did vote for my survival, as well as giving me his blessing, which was extremely useful in Tartarus. Most gods were pretty nervous around me. People such as Dionysus, Hera, Demeter, Zeus, and even some gods who favored me were nervous. Athena just hated me, nothing complicated about that.

Would getting rid of some of them be better? Would getting rid of gods such as Dionysus, Demeter, and any of them that never produced any results be wise?

I wipe the thought from my head instantly. I do not get to make those choices, to decide who lives and dies to innocents.

But are the gods innocent? Many gods are responsible for the deaths of great heroes and have been the cause of thousands of deaths.

Maybe, maybe not.

Nah, first of all, I am waaay too lazy to do it, second, every god would pee in their godly underwear knowing I could get rid of them easily, which could cause a civil war. Nobody wants a Civil War, Am I right? (Marvel reference)

I have talked with Poseiden over time and we are almost beginning to mend the father-son relationship. Almost. I still hate what he did, but I guess mom's death hurt both of us.

I still appreciate most of the gods, but I don't want them to fear me. I just want equality, but then again, history shows that equality is just man's dream.

I can't stroll down the beach without campers staring or asking me questions. I can't talk to any gods without them being slightly afraid of me. I can't talk to my friends or we will be interrupted by others or even because they are scared of me.

Power is great and all, convenient, but it sure does have it's drawbacks.

I remember Annabeth and Jack's reaction right after the battle and I talked with the gods.

FlashBack -Camp Half Blood

I was just finished talking with the Olympians, making them know I will not fade them. I returned to camp to see my friends, but as I walked in, Annabeth and Jack stopped me. I sighed.

"You don't deserve that glory! I do!" Jack shouted.

"You probably cheated somehow to make yourself look like a hero!" Annabeth screeches at me. Wow, like mother like daughter.

I sighed. "Can both of you please chill out?"

"Idiot! I doubt you even killed all the monsters, and you probably can't even beat me!" Jack snapped loudly.

Campers started gathering to see us in an "arguement".

"Listen buddy, I don't want to fight you. I have had enough action for a lifetime and you and your stick up your butt aren't helping." I reply.

"Coward!" Jack shouted with all his voice.

"If I was a coward, where were you and Annabeth when we all were summoned to defend Olympus?" I state with genuine curiosity.

"........" Jack was speechless, so was Annabeth.

The campers had a look of shock, had the two tried to ditch everyone and ran away to leave them to fight?

"No! We were fighting a huge army of hellhounds and giants!" Annabeth replied, it was a clear lie. Apollo campers snickered, but to my surprise, some campers bought the lie.

"Jackson, meet me at the Arena, and we will settle this, you weakling!" Jack shouted and left alongside Annabeth.

The camper dispersed, Jack had claimed he was extremely powerful, is that the truth?

Thalia and the Seven joined me in laughter.

"Is he serious?" I ask, trying to keep a straight face.

"Dude, he literally signed his own grave." Leo laughed.

1 hour later

I walked to the Arena area safely, and almost every camper was there. Chiron was there smiling at me with a look of "smash his internal organs for me please?". I smile back as I meet up with the two lovebirds.

"Hello Jackson, I was afraid you were too afraid to show your ugly self!" Jack sneered.

"Dude, have you ever heard of a 'mirror'?" I asked sarcastically, earning a few laughs from the crowd. Before Jack could blow a casket, Chiron announced.

"The demigods may warm up for 2 minutes before the fight. Magic is allowed, as well as magical items. No maiming or killing." Chiron spoke.

Jack started to warm up by putting on celestial bronze armor that was way too big for him. The armor was about 7ft tall, and Jack was like 5'6. Let me say, the results were not pretty. I bet I could literally poke the armor and it would all fall down. In fact.....

The two minutes were up, and I had stood for 2 minutes and done nothing. I was simply in a T-Shirt and jeans. I had Bane visible on my back as well as Riptide in my pocket.

"Are you stupid? We were supposed to prepare! I wanted a fight, this will be too easy." Jack laughed.

Some demigods agreed with him, some staring at me with an odd expression.

Chiron looked at me with confidence. "3.............2...........1.......Go!"

I stood still, waiting for Jack's move. If he were smart, he would attack.

But he didn't.

"What's the matter Jackson, frozen in fear? Well it seems I have already wo-" Jack stated but was cut off as he was blasted fifty feet backwards at the speed of sound.

I smashed my hands together to make a huge clap. I didn't even use all my force, but the impact between my hands was enough to create a blast of wind so strong, it went in a straight line and slammed Jack backwards so fast, Hermes would be jealous. His armor flew off him like they were attached together with scotch tape.

The campers and Chiron all stared in shock. The ground was visiby shaken, and cracks were made on Gaea.

"Holy crap!" Someone shouted.

"He cheated!" Said Annabeth, who pushed her way forward up to me.

"That's ironic, coming from the person who is as unfaithful as Zeus." I state with a grin.

Annabeth looked like she had just been slapped by Jesus Christ. She recovered just as quickly, unfortunately.

"You cheated by acting like you were weak, only to use all your strength in one go against Jack, who is a thousand times stronger than you will ever be!" She whined at this point.

"Annabeth.....you taught me that strategy, remember? And do I look tired to you? And does he look like he is still standing right now?" I ask calmly.

Annabeth had her mouth agape. I really did not look tired at all, and Jack was probably lying under a rock.

"Well...it seems Percy has won." Chiron stated it like saying Mohammad Ali beating up a toddler.

"Wait! I call for a rematch!" Annabeth shouted.

"Sure." Chiron and I stated with a smile.

"But Jack seems to be in a....predicament at the moment." Chiron questions Annabeth.

"I will fight!" Annabeth shouts again. Man, those two need to stop screaming.

"Sure." I reply.

20 minutes later

Annabeth returned with red armor. Unlike Jack, she was smart, relatively. Her armor actually fit perfectly. Honestly, she did look somewhat intimidating, but for me? She looked about as intimidating as me, when I was a baby, I mean.

"You never could beat me Percy." Annabeth bragged.

"Uh, yeah I did, like last week." I reply with a smile. Man, Athena and her children need to have their oil changed.

She glared at me with anger in her eyes. Jack also returned.......with a bandage......everywhere. I don't think he was even hurt, but acted like I murdered his kitten.

"Okay....3...2...1" Chiron announced, and she charged. I still did not prepare anything, and I had the same gear. I watched as Annabeth charged with all her might, preparing to beat me.

So I let her. Charge me, not beat me, just to clarify.

Her dagger pierced my T-Shirt. Only, my T-Shirt though. My skin was intact. Her dagger felt like someone hit me with a pillow.

She stared at me with shock, until I merely just plucked her off the ground and kicked her back, sending her 20 feet in the other direction. I received many stares and many were amazed at my power. I still had not even shed a single drop of sweat.

That day, the two basically swore revenge on me and yada yada, so it was a good day. For me, atleast.

End of Flashback

I smile at the encounter. However, I was quite worried that the newer campers would be influenced by the two. Surely my friends would keep Camp in check, right?

Holy Hades, it was 10 PM. While I was not sleepy, I will not stay up till 7 in the morning doing absolutely nothing.I get into bed, and I slumbered peacefully. Atleast somewhat.

Ever since that encounter with Order, when he showed me all those people whom have died because of me start blaming me. Chaos told me they were fake, but yet they still haunt me. I just wonder....what would the world be like if I didn't live? Fate is odd, but it is something not even Chaos can change. At least I think so.

Well, fate apparently has a lot in store for me, as always.

The next morning, I woke up at 6 AM to prepare. I brushed my teeth, not that I needed to, but it felt right. Hepheastus wanted me to meet him at his forge on Mount Olympus. I remember when I went there once with her. I still don't understand her, I mean, she was the most kind, and inteligent person I have ever met, but that girl isn't there anymore. How could she just change so drastically?

Greed. Hubris, to be more precise. She was too focused on doing stuff way beyond her, wanting the power she got and more.

Annabeth is taking the path of every dictator, psychopath, and criminal in human history. If she becomes a villain, I am not sure even I can stop her. I can't face her if she were to turn to the other side. But she isn't stupid enough to become evil, right?

Also, since I technically am a god/titan, I am able to have a signature weapon. Much like Kronos' s scythe, Zeus' s master bolt, Poseiden's Trident, Hades' s helm of darkness, etc, I could have one if I wanted. All major gods are able to have one, but since I am a powerful being that is part god, its optional. Same goes for sacred animals. I already have Bane and Riptide, as well as the Chaos Armor, I don't really need more gear. As for sacred animal, I don't really have one.

I don't really have a good connection with any animals, BlackJack is already taken since Pegasus are Poseiden's sacred animals, and Hades already had hellhounds, so no Mrs.O'Leary. Maybe I can think of one later.

Also, the last thing I can have are Domains. Me being a god allows me to have some domains of power, and since I am part Titan as well, I can have access to more domains than just a god. I was offered several domains when I saved the world. However, if I was granted those domains by the Olympians, I would be bound to be loyal to Olympus, which I am not ready to do. Yet.

BlackJack and Mrs.O'Leary still are not awake, as both of them are lying on the carpet. The two are great friends. When I was exiled, the two had been chased from camp by Jack. They survived together, and made it to the Underworld, where both of them hung out with Cerebrus. When I got out, both of them sensed me, so Blackjack found me first, and Mrs.O'Leary had to say goodbye to Cerebrus. Now the two live in the stable area, or my floor.I smile, Blackjack was the joker, the sarcastic, but couragous friend. He was a bit like me a long time ago. Mrs.O'Leary was the inteligent, strong, and the one who kept Blackjack out of trouble. Their friendship was like the ones I have had with several people.

I carefully snuck past both of them easily, BlackJack, quite literally, snores like a horse. Or neighs, whatever.

I get a glass of nectar from the fridge, which is stocked with different foods, since Blackjack doesn't use the feeding area for some crazy reason. I taste the blue chocolate chip cookies that Mom use to make. It was extremely refreshing, I have gotten over her death, but it still comes back once in a while. I could easily make the cookies, but it won't taste the same at all. Mom never told me the "extra" ingredient she always added. I swear it was mashed up blueberry jelly beans, since the cookies were extremely sweet, and always had an extra stretch to them.

My house was a bit more modern, I added plenty of new stuff since I was free. I upgrded my TV and I even got ahold of a some game consoles. I found some cool games, until I stumbled upon "God of War". I finished the game, and it was hilarious. I showed the gods many parts of the game, and when it was finished, it went like...

Flashback

"....."

Every god was speechless when I showed them the game.

"I DO NOT WEAR THOSE TYPES OF CLOTHING!" Shouted Artemis instantly.

"Why did I get killed with a sword? Stupid punk, I would have killed him before he moved." Ares complained.

"Some demigod was able to kill me?" Zeus said in shock.

"I am not that ugly." Aphrodite whined.

The gods all had something to say, and that is why God of War is now banned on Olympus.

End of Flashback

It was 6:55 AM, so I got ready to leave. I flashed myself to the forge and saw Hepheastus looking at several blueprints.

"So, what is the project about?" I ask. Hepheastus turns around and waves.

"Good thing you made it, I have an idea to create a new sacred weapon." He replies.

"Who is it for? Please don't say Zeus." I question curiously.

Hepheastus grins. "Naw, he already has too many. This weapon is not necessarily a weapon, more of a tool. It will help everyone on Olympus greatly."

I notice he avoided the question. "Who is it for?" I repeat suspiciously.

Hepheastus starts to look nervous, which is odd since he is like 8 feet.

"It is for me." He says sheepishly.

"Okay, why so shy about it?" I ask.

"Well, I was tired of using enchanted tools, and they lose their touch after a while. I do not want Father to find out since he may become angry." He replies, happy that I agree.

"Sure, lets begin." I tell him.

We begin by looking over the blueprints, which are all scattered over the ceiling, floor, walls, and tables. They all have a design of a hammer, and each shows the flaws of having a certain design. See, for example, Thor's hammer is basically a block of metal on a stick, and while it is powerful and makes you never miss a target, it is not precise, so if you hit somthing, the force is spread on the surface of the flat side. In a nutshell, It means it weakens the blow.

A modern hammer is the best choice, since it allows precise, powerful blows, yet does not weaken nearly as much as a bigger one. We begin working, making the handlebar out of Stygian iron. I build the handle easily, making a large handle, it was 3 inches wide and about a foot long, and a cylinder.

"So why do you need me? Why not ask one of your children?" I say curiously.

"That lump of Stygian Iron was the size of a car, and I compressed it to a smaller size. That handle is as strong as 400 Stygian Iron handles put together. None of my children are strong enough to shape such strong metal, but you have the physical capability to reshape it." He explains.

So that is why I started sweating. I did notice that it was a lot heavier and stronger than normal Stygian Iron. Next, we had to make the actual blunt of the hammer. This time, the blunt was made out of Imperial Gold, and was coated with liquid Celestial bronze, reinforcing the blunt. By the time we finished, the hammer was basically a wrecking ball. One hit would be like getting hit by a train, a train that happened to be going at the speed of light. It had so much raw power, it could quite possibly smash a mountain into rubble. However, there was no grip. I held it for a momment, and it was slippery as butter.

Then I had an idea."Hepheastus, I will be back in a moment." I tell him. He nods and continues to work.

I flash to my house and grab some Nemean Lion fur from my closet full of them, and I bring it back to the forge. I start turning the fur into a thin strings.

Hepheastus looks over at what I am doing. "Is that Nemean Lion fur?" He asks with a surprised look.

"Yup, the handle is hard to grip, so adding a gripping area with Nemean Lion strings seems like the best idea." I explain.

Hepheastus looks ready to jump in glee. "Finally! Someone actually understands crafting on Olympus." He chuckles.

4 hours later

"So...are we done?" I pant, I had been hammering sheets of metal together for over 8 hours, in a forge that happened to be hotter than Aphrodite.

"Yup, just adding the finishing touches." Hephestus also panted out, and when he finished, the Hammer was shining like a star.

"Should we call it something?" I ask Hephestus.

Hepheastus thinks for moment.

"Yes, this hammer will be named Wrecking Ball." Hepheastus says rather awkwardly.

I stare at him. "Seriously? We worked 8 hours to get the most powerful hammer in the universe, only to name it after a Miley Cyrus song?"

"What did you expect? I was dropped off a mountain when I was a baby, give me a break." Hepheastus says sheepishly.

I think for a moment. "How about "The Hammer of Creation?"

Hepheastus grins. "Much better."

"So, what are you gonna use it for?" I ask.

"Probably for building. The enchanted hammers are nice here, but get dull from the work I do. This hammer can be used as a weapon, a good one, but I prefer to use it for it's natural purpose." He says.

"What happens when Zeus finds out?" I question.

Hepheastus scratches his beard for a moment. "I don't know."

"Maybe this will help." I enchant the hammer, using the mist to make the hammer appear as a normal, golden hammer. It hides its powerful aura, so no gods can tell it is extremely strong.

Hepheastus looks ready to cuddle, looking a lot like Tyson. He thanks me and tells me if I need new gear, I can ask him.

I smile as I flash back home. It was pretty late, I worked the whole day. Blackjack and Mrs. O'Leary were playing in the stables. I think they were playing Uno or something, and I have no idea how they can flip cards using hooves and paws.

I was pretty tired, so I was trying to find something to eat. Cookies? No, too sweet. Beef? Nah, had too much Minotaur meat in Tartarus. Fried Chicken? Nah...too greasy. Ice cream? No, not in the mood.

I get another idea. I open a cabinet where the 10 golden apples are. I pick one out of the bag, placing it on a table.I close the cabinet and look at the apple. It was shining, as if the apple was real gold. It was never dirty, always having a bright glow. The Hesperides did say it would add to my invulnerability, so why not? Nothing to lose there.

I bit into the apple, expecting it to be hard as gold, but instead, I was amazed by it's rich flavour. It was soft, crunchy and juicy. Imagine the best apple you have ever eaten, but multiply that by 10, and add in whatever your favorite food is.

I was stunned by it's flavor, that one bite was like walking into Elysium. However, when I got out of my trance, the apple was gone. Well thats stupid, apparently it disappears after the first bite, so nobody can eat any part of it except the person who got it. Smart, but still stupid. I glare at the sky, seriously god-s?

But after that bite, I felt more strong. I had more stamina on top of my already strong body. My skin was probably harder than Titanium, but were still soft and smooth.

I felt re-energized and ready to fight.....nobody.

Then Mrs.O'Leary and BlackJack came in. (Italics =Blackjack, Bold= Mrs.O'Leary)

That card was a 9! You can't put that ontop of a 6!

I was sure that was a 6. You are just mad you have to have me place the cards since your hooves dont work.

You lying piece of- oh Hi boss.

"I told you not to call me boss Blackjack." I warned

Oh ok boss

He's hopeless, I already know.

Hey! Atleast I-

"CAN BOTH OF YOU PLEASE STOP TALKING!?" I scream. Somehow, these two manage to give me all the migraines.

The two pets smiled evilly. (Just to clarify, being a god allows Percy to talk with Mrs.O'Leary using a Mind-link.)

Sorry Percy.

Sorry boss.

I hold the bridge of my nose. "Why do I even bother?"

Mrs.O'Leary came up to me and snuggled up next to me. Awwww, she was so adorable for a hellhound.

Blackjack started neighing and opened the fridge with his wings somehow, and stuck his whole face inside to get a chicken wing.

What?

I sigh. I am a single man, who's wife and parents died, who lives with a huge dog and a horse with wings. Yeah, I have a LOT of problems going for me.

After some "talking" I headed up to bed and Blackjack came up with me. Mrs.O'Leary also followed us both and I fell ontop of my bed, Blackjack and Mrs.O'Leary both slept on some pillows and blankets I put down, I didn't want them sleeping on just the carpet, and the 3 of us fell asleep.

Dream World

As soon as I fell asleep, I felt my body just....float. I was no longer in my bed, just floating above the ground. At least I think it is ground. It was green grass and brown dirt, seems normal enough. I start to move, but when I lift a single muscle, I fall a few feet on the ground.

My butt hits the ground with a thump and my pants are covered in dirt. I groan in frustration, until I hear someone giggling behind me.

I turn around and see Lady Chaos laughing at my discomfort.

"Really?" I ask.

"The look on your face!" Chaos replied, still laughing.

"Where am I?" I look around, it looks like Earth, but it is somewhere I have never been.

"This is the Dreamscape, where beings such as me can talk with you without directly visiting you. I did say I would talk with you soon." She recovered from her burst of laughter.

"So why do you look...." I stated, since Lady Chaos no longer looked like her normal self. Instead of her dark purple body with stars and galaxies, she looked normal, a mature teenage girl with long, dark hair. She was wearing jeans, sneakers, and a tank-top, which confused me.

"Like what?" She smiled, clearly trying to confuse me.

"Like, not Chaos-ish." I struggle to find real words.

She laughs once again at my inteligent mind.

"Still one with words, aren't you?" She grins at me.

"So what did you want to talk about?" I ask.

Chaos puts a hand on her hip, "Well, you see, Hope is still recovering, since many demigods have died, hope is lower than before. It is still growing, but at an extremely slow pace. I have to use this form to save as much energy as possible. I have to protect the universe with my powers, and with my power weakened at the moment, I am having trouble. I heard of a rumor of something that will happen on Earth. Something that involves a certain son of Poseiden."

I facepalm. "Why me?" I mutter.

"Because you are special, you are kind, pure, honest, loyal, courageous, strong, smart, and have all the good qualities of man, but none of the bad such as Greed, envy, hubris, lust, indulgence, etc. Unfortunately you are the only one on Earth who has these traits. Many heroes have good traits, but they always have some bad ones too. You are the full package, as Orion was lust, Hercules was too arrogant, Leo lacks inteligence, Frank lacks courage, Annabeth literally has almost all of them, and much, much more." She smiles.

I am reminded of my time with the Hesperides, and I blush like a strawberry.

"But every person has a limit. A limit that once it passes, they gain another bad trait. When heroes often accomplish a feat, they become arrogant, or when they see someone do something better, they envy them. This happens with each trait, different events lead to different traits. People rarely gain good traits, since people are usually born with them. I am afraid you have your limits too, very high limits, but limited nonetheless." She says grimly.

I start to sweat, she was right, everyone has a breaking point, even me.

"I need you to prepare. Something, not even I know what, is coming." She says, being extremely vague.

"Umm, Apollo kinda told me earlier." I stated, maybe the two are talking about the same thing.

"Then he has received the warning from the Creator." She sighs as she holds out her hand, an orb forming infront of her.

"I am afraid that I cannot risk Earth being in danger, this time, I dont have the power to travel there with my army, so I have no choice but to bless you, granting you the powers of many things." She states seriously.

"What is coming that requires me to have more power? I really don't need anymore, I have enough, pleaaaaaaase." I groan like a child.

Chaos giggles at my failed attempt. "I am sorry, but I can't risk losing Earth, this orb will grant you power over all elements. Don't worry on trying to master them, I made them able to adapt to your skill. So your new powers such as Ice will be at the same strength of your water powers. Same goes for every new element, but no skill will match your fire skill. Due to being Hestia's champion and able to control Aquatic fire, Think of your fire powers as a club, and your other skills are sticks." She explains.

"You also have the choice to have any power, as long as it is reasonable, like not blowing up planets." She adds.

"Do I have to?" I complain.

"Yes" she smiles.

"Nope!" I say and bolt away from Chaos. I ran as fast as I could, I was sure she was long gone. I was certain I didn't need more power, and I didn't want to start more wars. When would I wake up?

Suddenly, as I ran, the black orb chased me and merged into my heart. A weird feeling surged in my body, making me trip and tumble on the ground.

Lady Chaos appears right infront of me.

"Nice try, but no." She laughs at my second failed attempt.

"Owie, what was that for?" I whine.

"Trying to escape fate." She continues to laugh.

I give her a fake glare. "Ugh, I feel like mush."

"Yeah, you will feel like that until you wake up, which is....now!" She snaps her fingers, which would make Athena jealous, and I black out.
