The Destroyer (Chapter 13)

I could not fall asleep after that dream. I spent the next few hours breathing heavily and sweating. It was the weirdest dream ever. Was it even real? I am certain that I would never fall in love with any of them. Annabeth is a huge no for obvious reasons, Thalia is my best friend, and daughter of Zeus. Artemis is a no because she is also a daughter of Zeus and is the leader of a feministic group.

Maybe I can dodge this bullet. The Creator did say that it may happen if I didn't want to, but do I want to avoid it?I mean, I have already canceled out Annabeth, because she lost her chances long ago. Artemis is extremely beautiful, skilled, strong, and determined. Thalia is beautiful herself, rebellious, kind, and strong as well.

I want to be with either of them, but if history has taught me anything, the things you want are not always the right thing.

I get up at about 5 AM, since I cannot sleep in bed for the next 3 hours. I need to clear my head. I go outside, the sun starting to rise, neat. Soon I am fully awake, ready for whatever the world can throw. Hopefully. I summon some blue waffles and a blue milkshake for breakfast. Diet doesnt really matter for me at this point, I mean I barely get hungry anymore, I just eat for pleasure.

When the morning begins, I start Iris-Messaging Camp Jupiter, who were happy to hear Chiron was in charge now, but were upset to hear Jack and Annabeth would reform like tomorrow.

After the message, I start training. My skills are good, really good, but I want to get better. I have already mastered most weapons I could find. My archery is much better, I can actually get bullseyes most of the time. Like 9/10 times. While I have expertise in most weaopnry, I prefer a sword. I start training by practicing on some homemade dummies I made. I slice through the dummy with be ease, and I finish after a few minutes.

I start to remember something. I need a name for now until I reveal myself to everyone. I also cannot wear a cloak 24/7. And my Roman helmet doesnt cover my whole face. I think for a few minutes then I conclude with an awesome name. Since my name is Perseus, meaning Destroyer, its appropriate to be named The Destroyer. It doesnt really hint people to my identity since nobody really knows my name translates into that.

Now for appearence. I think for a moment and come up with something. I remember watching Daredevil a few days ago. That suit was awesome, but its kinda corny if anyone notices I wear the same outfit as a TV superhero. So I start crafting on a suit, an original suit. Not a battle armor, but a regular jump suit. (Like samus' s zero suit.)

I start with using some Nemean lion strings, very comfortable and flexible. Using Nemean threads and some spare celestial bronze, I create a suit with the flexibility of Nemean Lion fur and the hardness of celestial bronze.I create some images on the suit, intricately creating very creative images on the suit. The suit itself is blue and orange. Water and Fire. It has designs of fire from below the waist, and blue on my chest and arms. The colors are extremely dark, bloodred and deep ocean blue. I will wear this under my clothes most of the time. It will provide extra protection if I am caught without armor.

Now to cover my head. I make a helmet, using black stygian iron to create a small, protective helmet. The helemet is completely black, fits extremely well. It is not a large helmet. Its like a ninja's mask but covers my eyes. It is skintight, but not made of thread. It has a space for my mouth so I can speak, as well as breathe. It has two small holes for my eyes as well. I get an idea to forge this helmet and the Roman one together.

I start to combine the two helmets, forging them onto one. The outcome is a black helmet, much similar to the one I made, but it looked much stronger and durable.

Now you may wonder where I got these metals, remember Hades' s blessing of precious metals? Yeah these metals are considered "precious".

I feel like a superhero, heck I already am technically. I saved Olympus, and have powers. Irony.

All I need now is a cape. Just kidding. I put on the new clothes, and it feels great. Comfortable too. I enchant my suit to be invisible, but can appear if I want it to. I enchant my helmet into a pair of sunglasses, and will appear back like Riptide if I lose it.

I smile at my new accomplishment. Gear worthy of Hepheastus. I decide to test out my armor and I hunt for monsters, but I wont use weapons.

Soon I come across a giant. A large giant. He looks at me extremely angrily.

"Oh look! A new demigod has arrived! More food! I will crush you and devour you and anyone who dares cross me!" He shouts

I grin as he charges. I easily move out of the way and ready my fist. I punch the Giant in the leg, sending him to the ground in pain.

"Ah! How is this possible? How can a tiny demigod punch that hard?" he screamed.

"I am no tiny demigod." I say and I send one more punch to his stomach, and he bursts into dust.

I really do feel stronger. Maybe its because I feel better, at my best.

"Holy crap....." says a voice behind me.

I turn around and see some hunters all staring at me. Do they ever leave me alone?

"We have been tracking down that giant for days after it killed one of us. Our weapons barely scratch him but you punched him twice and killed him." One exclaims.

"I see. I have avenged your sister. I can tell you are not as aggressive as some other hunters. I am sorry for your loss." I said

The girls hesitate. "Thank you, I guess." And they walk away.

That was odd. Like really odd. They didnt attack me for some reason. I guess times really are changing. Luckily I didnt need to have my helmet on, they just didnt recognize me.

I finished up that hunting session and warped back home. It seems monsters have been getting stronger. Order is rising. I heard from Camp Jupiter that Monsters have started gathering into armies, as if prepaing for war. And I just saw the some hunters struggling with one giant. This war is going to be tough, but I need to do this one last time. I mean nobody evil is stronger than Order right?

Its stll early afternoon. Still got plenty of time. What can I do for now? I already visited each camp, so I guess wait until something happens. Which shouldnt take long, judging by my luck.

Should I tell Thalia and Artemis about my dream? Nah, they'd probably think I am insane or shoot where Apollo dont shine. They wouldnt believe me, but who would?

Well, I decide to visit the Hunt's camp, since I kinda want to talk with Thalia about Annabeth. I forgot to tell her when I last saw her.

I dont Iris message her since she may be showering or something. Most of us learned never to Iris message unless the situation is desperate or you know exactly where the person is.

I warp near the camp and I see smoke from the trees. Thats weird, usually the Huntresses never go crazy with fire. I start running towards the camp and see a battlefield. Tents are all on fire, some Hunters are unconscious, and monsters every where. Where is Artemis and Thalia? I gotta find them. I start rushing, dodging some monsters and see a battle. The remaining hunters, with Thalia and Artemis leading a retreat against an army of monsters. I dont even know how many are there, its like a swarm.

I rush over to the Hunter's side.

"All of you! Retreat! Run! Get away from here, I will take care of this!" I shouted, I needed to get everyone out of here no matter what.

The Hunters didnt budge until Artemis shouted them to retreat as well.

I wanted Artemis and Thalia to retreat as well, but they stood and fought. Thalia used a spear, stabbing monsters, and Artemis used her bow to pick off monsters.

I quickly transformed my sunglasses into my helmet. Thalia and Artemis both look at me surprised.

I pulled out Bane and Riptide and started slashing. I noticed these monsters were extremely tough. Normally this would be easy, but these monsters are blessed by Order, making them equivalent to skilled demigods.

I continued to slash non-stop. Each individual monster was easy, but there were so many. Every time I killed a monster, 27 would appear. I summoned some fire and blasted a hole in the sea of monsters, but it was quickly filled with monstes a second later.

I sighed. This was not going to be easy. I try to find Artemis and Thalia, I lost them a few seconds ago. I franticly start slashing, trying to find them. I create a firestorm, dust flying everywhere. While the monsters were blinded, I rushed out of the horde. I searched back to the damaged Hunter campsite, and see Artemis and Thalia tied up next to a few monsters and a man.

"This was too easy! Master will be pleased! I will bring him these two maidens to be his wives!" He exclaims.

Artemis and Thalia both struggle furiously against the ropes, but it doesnt even budge.

I can feel the fire flickering in my eyes. I jump out and slash the two guards at the same time, shooting fire at the rest. Soon there was a pile of dust. But the man still stood.

"Ah! Who are you?" He shouted.

"I am The Destroyer." I announce.

He smiles creepily, then pulls out a horn. "SWARM! GATHER!"

The second he said that, the whole army arrived behind him. It was like a full stadium behind him. He punches Thalia and Artemis in the head, knocking them out, and he tosses them to a tree.

"Foolish demigod, you stand no chance at the Swarm!" He bellowed and the monsters charged.

My eyes oozed fire. Blue fire dripped from my eyes. I cannot fail Thalia or Artemis. I let out a huge war cry, before charging. The swarm surrounded me, trying to overrun me. I slashed constantly, but it wasnt working. After about a full hour,I got tired, but the swarm still kept coming. I started getting sloppy. Monsters started getting hits off. These weapons somehow cut through my suit, cuts appearing on my everywhere.

I sink to my knees, breathing heavily. I failed. I was going to die. I felt my cuts get deeper, I was soon in a pool of my own blood. I cant save them. I was too weak.

"Victory for Order! Lets take the whores and go!" The man shouted.

Whores? Thalia, Artemis. I need to save them! I cant just lay down and die when they need me!

The Monsters start walking away to leave with the man when I get up.

I get up, covered in bruises, cuts, and still bleading. I can tell one of my legs are broken, and with a loud crack I still rise. I bear through the pain. It hurts. I raise my sword, still determined to fight.

"You will never call them whores ever again." I said deeply.

The man and his army laughed at my weak appearence. They thought I was weak, too weak to save my friends.

I feel anger. Lots of anger. I havent felt this since Zoë died. I can feel the power pumping. I suddenly cracked. I let out a blood-curddling scream, making all of them turn their heads.

I can feel power like no other. The need to help my friends. My family. My cuts dissapear, my energy back. My determination, stronger.

My head and my palms both radiate Aqautic fire. Riptide and Bane both dripping fire as well.

"You just made the biggest mistake of your life." I say coldly.

The monsters raise an eyebrow and charge. Before they could reach me, I summoned the largest blast of Aqautic fire I could at the monsters. It was more like a wave of fire. The fire splashed all over the monsters, and spread between monsters. One spark was all it took to burn them. Trees and grass all dissapeared, not even dust was left.I collapsed on one knee. It took all my power to defeat this whole swarm.

All the remained was the man, who was not in the blast.

"How.....our strongest....gone in one blast..." he stuttered.

I turn to him, I am angry. Very angry.

He quickly gathers himself and shouts.

"I am Law! Appentice of Order! You do not stand a chance against me!" He boasted.

I pull out Riptide and Bane, and here I am, my hands on fire. My helmet still shining. I needed to win. For Artemis. For Thalia.

And I charged.
