-나는 그들의 것, 그들의 내 꺼야-

i have a weakness for women, i've noticed that these last few months.

it's an interesting thing that i can't quite explain.

🌷

i sat beside joshua, smiling as brightly as i could, telling him about the people i'd met and how many dancers were performing at any given time.

it was like going to a festival for the first time all over again.

the excitement you feel when you see all the beautiful lights hanging from strings, attached from vendor to vendor, selling the most beautiful trinkets. some to bless your house and others for good luck. i remember how much i begged seokmin for one of the items.

trying to get lucky to gain a friend.

"joshua, you had to be there to see how powerful their dancing was," i grabbed hold of his hand. "i can very well imagine," he chuckled, parking the car.

🌷

and again, time flew by, not allowing me even to catch my breath. before i knew it was september 12th and namjoon's birthday.

i came to know namjoon as jungkook's reliable older brother. i was never close to him, but clearly, mingyu was, and so were all the others.

and still, jungkook couldn't look in my direction, still angry with my betrayal of his trust.

"are you ready, areum?" myungho walked into my room, knocking just before.

"everyone is ready," he walked in.

vampires sure do love their parties.

drinking seems to be how they deal with the eternal life they bear.

for them, life is too long; for me, it doesn't seem to be long enough.

what she was wearing:

"that's a beautiful dress," he gave me a knowing smile as i walked out of the closet attached to my room. "i should hope so, you made it for me," i gave him a soft smile.

"you vampires love dressing up," i walked towards him, giving him a peck on the cheek.

"we have the life to enjoy such privileges, so we must take them," he placed a hand on my shoulder and kissed me.

"i guess," i rolled my eyes and he let out a breathy chuckle.

his hands went up to my cheeks, softly caressing it, "i love you so much," he thinned his lips into a soft smile.

"i love you too. so much i can barely take the thought of losing you," i got on my tippy toes and pecked his nose.

"please never leave again," i mumbled as i wrapped my arms around his body.

"i promise."

🌷

"why must there be so many people," i half sulked as i exited the limousine, looking up at the tall skyscraper in front of me.

unlike last time, we aren't going to a castle, but a tall building. it felt like a modern twist to everything we've done before.

i'm praying kai isn't here, i let out a puff of air.

"alas, we know too many people," myungho stood beside me, intertwining our arms to guide me.

i chuckled at his joke, and he shined a reassuring smile at me, knowing very well that i do not enjoy such large gatherings.

this was on a whole other level than past events. just from the outside of the building, you could see many stories of the place filled with people.

the moment we passed the front doors, the receptionists came towards us, guiding all fourteen of us to the level we were supposed to go to. they seemed to know who we were before we even spoke a single word.

the elevator doors opened up to the same familiar people we always saw at every event.

there were tall windows, allowing your eyesight to stretch as far as they would take you, and a bar tucked away in the corner out of everyone's way, the band standing over a small stage, playing classical music, most to namjoon's taste.

he was a very old-fashioned man for certain things.

i could see jihyo and her friends, sana and tzuyu off in the distance speaking to each other in whispers, giggling, and kissing.

shownu was the first to notice our presence, walking towards us with hyungwon and kihyun at his sides, all bright smiles. and from the corner of my eye, i could make out bangchan, speaking to none other than jungkook.

how much i miss jungkook will remain immeasurable.

but i turned back to the men walking towards us.

"areum, myungho," shownu regarded us, taking my hand and kissing the top of it.

the live band in the background, surprisingly playing loud music, made it harder to hear anything they were saying.

"you look beautiful tonight," he smiled and immediately turned to myungho, and mingyu who was just beside him, and i was left searching at anyone else in the crowd that i recognized.

boredom seemed to overcome me and left me wondering once again why we must go to such events, more specifically why i must if i do not know anyone here.

they spoke about trivial things that i had no interest in, but one thing caught my attention. "changkyun is probably going to be late," hyungwon drank from his red cup.

"he seems to be quite taken by a girl he's met," kihyun turned to mingyu, winking at him, signaling that he was very much in love with the girl.

i chuckled lightly, trying to imagine changkyun madly in love with a girl.

and from there, they continued speaking, and myungho walked away with me, taking us to drink.

"namjoon told us that this event was mortal-friendly," he grinned lightly, thinking again of his friend's words.

"i can drink this," i picked up a glass, looking suspiciously at the red liquid, swirling around in it. taking a sniff of it assured me of what it was.

"can i?" i looked up at his tall figure, and he nodded at me, a smirk on his face.

and as i took the first sip and cringed at the feelings of the heat, he started speaking: "i know you're bored here," his smirk grew, "so let's play a game, one that you'll enjoy," he placed a hand on my waist. i grew excited at his words.

"what's the game?" i looked down at the glass, drinking the rest of it in one go, i wanted to get it out of the way to give my entire attention to him.

"i'll give you three wishes and i'll make them come true, as long as they are within my ability to do them."

"tell me myungho, when did you become a genie?"

he chuckled.

but his offer was intriguing, tempting even.

and i gave in.

"tonight i wish to drink as much as i wish," i took another cup, "and you won't protest about it," he arched a brow at me and i drank t whole, once again cringing at its heat and how it was burning me inside.

"my second wish," i thought for a moment, acting coy. "i want you," i placed a hand on his suit, "to treat me like a princess today. like i'm the only woman in the entire world."

i hung my arms around him, leaning on him.

"and my third wish," i pouted, "is for later," i smile.

he did as well, perhaps knowing very well what I wanted later on.
