Chapter 14

It had been a few days now since David entered the circus. Caine had yet to introduce him to the circus members. He seemed to put it off every time someone brought it up. Seemingly changing the topic faster if it was you asking about him.

Eventually your trip was reaching an end as the west coast was approaching with every stop. By now you all had explored New Orleans, Colorado, Texas, New Mexico, Utah, and now you were on the way to the golden bay. Your eyes gazed at the mountain ranges that seemed to never end. The crisp morning air nipping at your nose. You decide to roll your window up and cuddle into the warmth of Caine's firm chest. He wrapped his arms around you and you fell back asleep, only to wake up to the golden coast. Waves lapped at steep mountainsides as the bus hummed along the road. You eagerly watched out the window once more.

Caine lovingly stared down at you and smiled. He loved seeing how much fun you were having on this trip.

"Last stop party people!!!!" Jax eagerly yelled over the intercom.

Gangle smiled and chimed in, "I'm actually kinda sad it's the last stop. This has been... actually kinda fun."

Zooble smiles and places an arm around Gangle, "Even when the trip is over I'll remember all the memories we made." Zooble seemingly placing an emphasis on the last part of her statement making Gangle blush.

When you all arrive in the city you go out drinking to start the night. Drunkenly singing karaoke at the top of your lungs was one of the top three experiences on this trip. You had never felt so alive despite this being somewhat fake in the digital world. Suddenly singing at a bar didn't matter, because these were NPCs. Not people who would or even could judge you. Even if they did they'd forget by the next adventure.

Jax and Pomni ended up singing some weird Daisy song. While Kinger killed it on the divorced dad rock. Zooble sung some surprisingly good evanescence covers. And gangle sung her favorite anime opening. Everyone cheering the singer at the time on. The group remained supportive and positive no matter how many off key notes were sang. The buzz of the alcohol clearing all your minds of any embarrassment.

Drunkenly the group stumbled from restaurant to restaurant as Caine began picking up all the tabs. Paying for each excursion without hesitation. Although you knew he was the creator of the world and that he could do as he pleased. It still felt nice having someone pay for your meals and your friend's.

After drinking your fill of alcohol and eating all the amazing food on the California coast you all sat on the beach by the pier. The orange and pink hues sprawling across cotton candy clouds as the sun slowly set. Jax threw up in a nearby trash can before going to lay back down groaning. You and Pomni laugh before focusing back on the sunset.

"Guess he isn't as good of a drinker as he thought." You joke with Pomni. She smiles and laughs before replying, "You know. Around others he's always showing off. Trying to be the tough guy. Behind closed doors though... he's just. Normal. In the best way though." She smiled down at a now snoring Jax. He layed asleep in her lap turned on his side. The gentle air from his mouth brushed against Pomni's thigh. Sending a shiver down her spine.

"You good Pom Pom? I have a jacket if you're cold." Pomni nervously blushed and declined, "N-no!!! I'm good. Thank you though." Pomni rested her hand on Jax's purple ears and stroked them lovingly. Jax's eyes partially opened, looking up at Pomni momentarily before shutting again. He drunkenly slurred with his eyes closed in a half asleep state, "I love you, you know." Pomni gasped and turned bright red before stuttering, "I — I uh. I l-love you too"

You smiled at the cute display before you turned your gaze back to your man. You give him a kiss on the cheek, but he pulls you back in for a real kiss. Deepening it by pulling on your hair gently, pressing your face deeper into his. His tongue begins to infiltrate your mouth before pulling back out. A string of saliva from your wet cavern was greedily swallowed by him.

He savored the taste on his tongue before proudly announcing, "Well this has been a successful adventure!! Why don't we introduce you to our newest member."

You perk up at the idea of going back to meet them. Everyone else seems to share your excitement in meeting this new mysterious circus member. Much to Caine's dismay. He feels animosity bubbling beneath the surface as he seems your excitement for another man.
