Chapter 7: If you love me DON'T let me go

08:51, 15 January 2019

I giggled and helped Willy up, he smiled embarrassed, "thank you darling". He puts his hat back on and pressed the button to open the glass elevator, "come on" he waved still blushing a bit. We put away the glass, then entered the glass elevator.

Willy pressed a button that read, Up And Out. "Up and out, what kind of a room is that"? Willy asked in front of us.

"Hold on" willy said slyly, which caused me to look at him and then looked up, "willy that isn't a room is it"?

He looked at me and nodded, I went pale and held Charlie close as the elevator started to excel up towards the glass window.

"Oh my goodness, we're going to need to go much faster. Otherwise, we'll just never break through.

Charlie looked up and then at Willy, "break through what?".

"I've been longing to press that button for years". Willy laughed and continued, "well, here we go, up and out".

"But do you really mean..?" Charlie asked slightly scared and held onto me thighter when willy replied, "Yeah, I do!"

"But, its made of glass,  it'll smash into a million pieces." I said seriously worried about our safety. All he did was laugh and I glared at him causing him to shut up and grab my waist pulling me closer, "don't worry it will be okay, I promise". I nodded and held onto both of them, then we smashed through the glass and started falling down.

Willy quickly pressed a button causing jets to come out and stop the falling, jerking us.

Then, the rest of those rotten kids started to walk out of the factory. First was, Augustus Gloop covered in chocolate, getting chocolate off his fingers. "Augustus, please don't eat your fingers!" his mother exclaimed. "But, I taste so good!" he said back and continued eating his fingers and going down the steps.

Next was, Violet Beauregarde and her mother. Violet was completely blue but was doing flips and being very flexible. "Look mother, I'm much more flexible now!" Violet smiled brightly trying t make her mom feel better but it didn't work, "yes, but you're blue" her mother was still very upset and embarrassed. They continue leaving.

Next were the Salts, covered in rotting garbage with flies. They walked out and Veruca saw the flying glass elevator, "daddy, I want a flying glass elevator." she said sweetly, but her father looked angry, "Veruca, the only thing you're getting today is a bath and that's final". Veruca turned slightly red, "but I want it!". Her father looked appalled and angry.

Lastly, Mike walked out with his father extremely stretched out and paper thin. Everyone was met by townspeople and reporters.

'Where do you live?" Willy asked politely and we turned towards our house and Charlie pointed, "Right over there, that little house." So we flew towards the house.

*3rd person POV*

It showed the, Bucket's waiting for Charlie and Alice to come home.

"What time do you think they'll be back?" Mrs. Bucket asked curiously, her husband looked up from his book, "I don't know dear". So Mrs. Bucket continued to cook. Until the glass elevator came anding through the roof.

*Alice's POV*

We landed and the doors opened, "Hi mom!" charlie yelled and ran out to hug his mom. Willy waved awkwardly and I gave his hand a reassuring squeeze before exiting the glass elevator hugging the woman I called mom.

"Charlie, Alice!" Mr. $ Mrs. Buckets hugged us and looked us over to see if we were ok. Willy walked out and stood in front of us.

"This is Willy Wonka, he gave us a ride home." Charlie exclaimed happily.

"I see that" Mrs.Bucket said looking at the now even bigger hole in the roof.

"You must be Alice and Charlie's..." Willy tried saying parents, so I helped him out.

"Parents" I smiled at Willy helping him out. Willy swallowed, "yeah" still very nervous.

"He says Charlie won something!" I said excited for Charlie.

"Not just something, the most something something of any something that's ever been" Willy looked through cabinets, he says, "I'm gonna give this little boy my entire factory. I was beyond shocked at this, I couldn't say a thing but, "you must be joking, Willy?".

"No, really, it's true 'cause, you see a few months ago, I was having my semi annual haircut, and I had the strangest revelation. In that one silver hair, I saw reflected my life's work, my factory, my beloved Oompa Loompa's. What would watch over them after I was gone? I realized in the moment... I must find a heir and I did, Charlie. You." He finished coming out of his flashback.

"That's why you sent out the golden tickets." Charlie smiled and Willy turned around to look more, "uh huh".

Mrs.Buckets whispered, "What are Oompa Loompa?" I laughed quietly and quickly explained who they are and what they are.

"I invited five children to the factory, and the one who was least rotten would be the winner." Willy said opening the cabinet with his factory's model in it. His eyes widen then closed the cabinet.

"That's you, Charlie" I smiled happily at this.

"So, what do you say? Are you ready to leave all this behind and come live with me in the factory?" Willy asked happily looking at us.

"Sure. Of course! I mean, it's alright for my family to come, too." Charlie smiled and looked at us, but the next 8, I wasn't prepared for and shattered my heart.

"Oh, my dear boy of course they can't." Willy smiled and my face dropped. What?

"You can't run a chocolate factory with a family hanging over you like an old dead goose. No offense." Willy still kept a smile, which destroyed me. I couldn't say a thing at all.

"Non taken.. jerk" Grandpa George whispered the last part but Willy heard and ignored it.

"A chocolatier has to run free and solo. He has to follow his dreams, gosh darn the consequences. Look at me, I had no family and I'm a huge success." Willy explained. It killed me on the inside, and maybe me rethink if he even liked me. I just wanted to die in a hole.

"So, if I go with you to the factory, I won't ever see my family again?" Charlie asked kind of angry.

"Yeah, consider that a bonus." Willy kept on god damn smiling.

"Then I'm not going." Charlie said confidently, I was so proud of him.

"I wouldn't give up my family for anything, not for all the chocolate in the world." Charlie stood his ground and was straight faced.

Willy looked highly confused by this, "oh, I see. That's weird, there's other candy too, besides chocolate." Willy tried persuading.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Wonka, I'm staying here" Charlie said serious. Then Mr. Wonka became more confused, "wow.. well, that's just... unexpected and... weird. But I suppose in that case, I'll just..." As a tear slid down my face, Mr.Wonka looked over, "Alice...?" I shook my head putting it down. I couldn't look at him without breaking down.

"Good bye then, sure you won't change your mind?" he hoped for one of us to say yes but all Charlie said was, "Im, sure". He went back in and pressed a button closing the doors and started to leaving looking down at me, it might have hurt him that, I rejected him. Then he was gone, and I ran upstairs. While charlie explained to them about how I fell for him at that the factory and he returned the feelings.

I heard from Grandma Josephine, "things are going to get much better" and maybe she was right.

A couple of day's later we got the hole in the roof fixed and Grandpa Joe spent the whole day out of bed, not tired at all. Dad got a better job at the toothpaste factory, repairing the machine that had replaced him. Everything was a lot better, we got actual good food, good clothes and better things, but I was still heartbroken. I would cry every night while mom, dad or charlie would comfort me. What made it worst was that Willy's candy was going bad.

*Willy's POV*

"I can't put my finger on it, candy's always been the only thing I was ever certain of, and now I'm just not certain at all. I don't know which flavors to make, I don't know which ideas to try. I'm second guessing myself, which is nuts and all I can think about is, Alice... and I've always made whatever candy I felt like, and I... I sat up at the realization, " that's just it, isn't it? I make the candy I feel like, but now I feel terrible, so the candy's terrible, you're very good" I praised him and he nodded. After my session, I headed out.

*Alice's POV*

Charlie had set up a boot shining station in front of, Greystone Cafe. I sat inside trying to warm up, while Charlie was shinning some man boots with a top hat and a magazine. His hat looked like, Willy's. I had to look away because I was about to break down, I'm still not over him yet.

*20 minutes later*

Charlie came in quickly and grabbed my wrist pulling me outside, "what in the world is wro-" I cut myself off, when I saw Willy. He came straight up to me and took off this sunglasses. I looked straight into his beautiful purple eyes, "Willy...". He looked so apologetic and sad, "Alice, i'm so so sorry about what I sai-" I cut him off with a kiss and he soon kissed back. I stopped and smiled with tears in my eye's, "it's okay, I forgave you after you said it". He smiled and hugged me, "Alice, will you be mine?". I smiled and nodded, "yes, I will". He let go of me with the biggest smile on his face, "Ok well, it would be so kind of you if you would company Charlie and I to go see my father father". I nodded and he was extremely happy.

"Great and you know what? I've got transpor-" Willy ran straight into the glass elevator again. I laughed and helped him up, "thank you darling, I have to be more careful where I park this thing". Willy adjusted his hat and pressed the button to the glass elevator. We head inside and Willy presses a button, sending us into the air towards his father's house, in the middle of nowhere, we landed.

We walked out and headed up the steps of the building and Willy started to become nervous and scared, "I think we've got the wrong house". I shook my head and pointed to the sign that said

'Dr. WILBUR WONKA, D.D.S. - DENTAL PRACTITIONER'

Willy gulped and Charlie rang the doorbell. The door opened a man with white hair and a beard with glasses wearing a white outfit asked, "do you have an appointment?"

I looked at him, "no, but he's overdue". He let us in and Willy laid back in the chair and let his father examine his teeth, "let's see what the damage is, shall we?" he examined while I looked at the many articles on the wall and they were all about Willy and his factory.

"Heavens, I haven't seen bicuspids like these since... since..." Wilbur pulled back shocked and asked, "Willy?". I smiled and watch as, Willy smiled, "Hi, dad".

I could tell, Wilbur was still very shocked, so he put his tools dow and Willy sat up and his father smile a little, "all these years, and you haven't flossed" he joked.

Willy shook his head, "not once". They hugged which caused me to tear up a bit and so I wiped it away. They pulled back and Wilbur saw Charlie and I, "Is she..?".

I went up to them and put my hand out, "Hi my name is Alice Welish - Buckets, I'm Willy's girlfriend and Charlie is my younger brother". Instead of a handshake he pulled me in and hugged me, "welcome to the family". I was shocked but said, "thank you".

We exchanged goodbyes and left to go back to the factory and by then the whole family and the house was in the factory. I was helping with dinner when Charlie and Willy came in, "sorry we're late, we were brainstorming" Charlie sat down and Willy came over and kissed me, I kissed back and set the rest of the food on the table.

"Thought I heard thunder" Grandpa George joked.

"Can you stay for dinner, Willy" I asked hoping he would, he works way too much for his own good, maybe I should help him 'relax' later. Oh my! Why did I think that?!? I shook my head and Willy replied, "Oh, yes, please." Putting his coat away and sat next to me and Grandma Georgina.

"I'll shuffle the plates" Grandpa Joe  said trying to help out.

"You smell like peanuts. I love peanuts" Grandma Georgina smiled, at this I giggled.

"Oh, thank you, you smell like.. old people and soap." he stopped for a dramatic pause then sort of whispered, "I like it." Grandma Georgina made a aww sound and hugged, Willy and looked at me, "he's a keeper". I blushed and nodded, after Grandma Georgina let go, Willy saw the blush and kissed my cheek happily. Gosh what his man does to me.

"Elbows off the table, Charlie." Grandma Josephine warned and Charlie did.

"How do you feel about little raspberry kites?" Willy proposed and I lightly smacked his arm warning him. Will he ever stop?

"With licorice instead of string" Charlie smiled and mom intervened, "boys.. no business at the dinner table" I nodded.

"Sorry, mum" Charlie apologized.

"I think you're onto something though, Charlie" Willy said proudly and we all began to eat.

Once dinner was done and we all finished cleaning up, Willy and I headed outside. Willy smiled asked, "why don't we do something exciting tonight?" I smiled and looking at him, tilting my head, "like what?". Then Willy picked me up bridal style and said, "hold on, you'll see" and with that Willy ran to the hallway and went into our bedroom, throwing me on the bed as I was laughing. He closed the door, locking it and jumped onto me kissing me. Life had never been sweeter.
