episode three ~ make a wish

"Hey," Gianna greeted Ludo, giving her a quick side hug, before falling in step with her.

"Hi," Ludo replied, giving Gia a genuine smile.

"Where's Chiara? And what's with the box?" Gia noticed the box in Ludo's hands. "Isn't Virginia supposed to be raising the money for the trip?" Gianna asked Ludo, walking alongside her.

"Chiara's at home. She's sick, apparently." Ludo said with a tone, that said she didn't believe it.

"Oh," Gia frowned.

"And about the box," Ludo stopped in her tracks, turning to look at her for a moment before dragging her into a corridor.

Setting down the box on the ground, she turned to Gia. "Virginia was supposed to be doing this, but we got into a little argument and she made me raise the money," she explained, with ironic smile.

"What a bitch. How is it going?" Gia asked, peeking into the box through the hole for the money.

"Not great. Also she's a liar," Ludo stated. "She's not actually pregnant."

"What?" Gianna's eyes jumped to Ludo's. "How do you know? Are you sure? Does Niccolo know?" Gianna asked.

"I overhead her and Camilla talking," Ludo shrugged. "I don't know if anyone else knows, but I thought maybe you would like to hear about that," Ludo shrugged and gave her a knowing smirk.

Gia shrugged, "I don't. I don't care," she averted her gaze.

Ludo gave her a look, "yeah, right," she snorted.

"No, I-" Gianna started, upon seeing Ludo's look saying 'you can't bullshit me' she cut herself off. Sighning, she started again, "okay, maybe I do care a little bit. But it doesn't matter. I'm not gonna get involved in that."

"Alright," Ludo simply said, grabbing the box from the ground again. "Let me go back to raising the money."

"Hold on," Gia said, pulling out a five euro bill, putting it into the box.

"Thanks," Ludo sighed, walking out of the corridor, Gia right behind her.

Biting the inside of her cheek, she said, "I mean.. do you think I should tell him? It's none of my business, though, right? But, he deserves to know. Maybe she'll tell him, now that she knows you know. She knows you know, right? Probably. Ludo, don't ignore me," Gianna rambled, still tuned out by Ludo.

"Happy birthday to the bestest, most beautiful and perfect best friend on the entire planet!" Gia exclaimed the next day, giving Ludo a tight hug, pretty much cutting her airflow.

Ludo laughed, trying to shove Gianna off of her. "You're choking me," Ludo dramatically pretented to be dying from not having enough oxygen.

Gia let her go, rolling her eyes. "You're too dramatic."

Ludo turned to look at her and opened the 100 days box.

Gia's eyes widened. "How did you collect that? You had like fifteen bucks yesterday!" Gia exclaimed, looking inside the 100 days box with wide eyes.

"I have my secrets," Ludo told her with a grin, receiving unimpressed look from the girl in front of her. "Alright, I put in the money I made from, you know what," she admitted, giving her a look, "and money I got from my dad for my birthday. Virginia's going to be so pissed off," she laughed, making Gia laugh too.

"I hope I get to see her face," she chuckled.

"You can, I'm going to give it to her right now," Ludo said. "Come with me."

"Oh, I'm coming with for sure," Gia chuckled and linked her arm with Ludo's.

Walking to the computer's classroom, where Virginia was, they saw gloomy looking Niccolo leaning on the wall beside it and his friends walking out of the classroom chuckling.

"That's unbelievable!" Vitto chuckled, smacking Niccolo on the shoulder, chuckling and then followed the rest of his friends, leaving Niccolo standing there by the classroom.

Sharing a look, Ludovica nodded and walked into the classroom, while Gia went to stand in front of Niccolo.

"Hey," she greeted him.

"Virginia's not pregnant. She made the whole thing up," Nicco said, not looking at the blonde standing in front of him.

"Yeah, I know," Gia admitted, looking at him.

Niccolo looked up to look at her, "you knew? Why didn't you tell me?"

"I found out only yesterday and I didn't think it was my place to say anything to you." She looked at him apologetic, but swallowed down the need to say 'sorry'.

Sighing, Nicco shut his eyes, leaning his head against the wall for a moment, before looking at Gia again. "I don't want to be with her," he admitted.

"That's something you should probably talk about with her," Gia gave him a tight lipped smile.

Ludo walked out of the classroom this time without the box and made eye contact with Gia.

Gia walked towards her, linking their arms together again, giving her a smile.

"You missed her face," Ludo told her as they walked away.

"I know," Gia whined. "Was it good?"

"Eh, mediocre," Ludo said, both of them laughing on their way to their classes.

Coming back home from hanging out with Chiara and Ludo with a smile on her face, Gianna opened the front door, coming to a complete darkness and quietness in the house, which was very unusual lately.

"Hey, I'm home!" Gia called out, seeing if she get any answer. None.

Scrunching her eyebrows, she walked towards her room with a frown on her face, passing by her father's office on the way.

Seeing a light coming from the gap in the door and hearing hushed voices, she opened the door, coming face to face with Marco and Rosa, who stood towering over the table.

"Hey, what's going on?" She asked.

Her dad only looked at her, look in his eyes that made Gianna feel uneasy. Switching her gaze to Rosa, who had similar look in her eyes. The only difference between those two looks was that Rosa had a little empathy and sadness on her features, while Marco only had anger and disappointment.

Coming closer to the table with her heart pounding all the way to her ears, she took a look at what was on it.

Pictures. Pictures of her with Eliseo on a date. Pictures of her and Giovani on a date. Breathing heavily, she took the pictures in her hands, revealing more pictures of her and the guys, in some which they've been kissing or touching.

Looking at her dad and Rosa with furrowed eyebrows, "where did you get these photos?"

Marco looked from the ground on her, cold look in his eyes, "it doesn't matter where we got the photos and you are in no position to be asking questions," he said, anger evident in his voice. "What the fuck were you doing with these guys, twice your age? Huh?" He spit at her.

Gia hardly swallowed and looked at him, "I..," she started, immedietly trailing off, not sure what to say. "It was nothing," she pathetically tried.

"Nothing?" He raised his voice, walking by the table. He took the photos into his hand, "You call this nothing?"

"Dad.." Gia trailed off, taking steps backwards.

"Don't try to get me feel sad for you, Gianna. Do you think it's normal? For a seventeen year old to be dating- no, fucking guys who are twice her age? Huh?" With every word he said, he took a step closer to her, while she took step away from him.

Being completely pressed against the wall, she didn't say anything. She didn't know what to say. Her eyes watered and she bit the inside of her cheek.

"Why are you crying? Toughen up! Be a grown woman! Is that not what you want to be treated as?" He yelled in her face.

Gianna turned away from him, hiding her tears.

Marco firmly took a hold of her chin, making her look at him. "Look at me when I talk to you!"

"Marco," Rosa said, watching from her place next to the table.

"You're nothing but a burden, you know that? Burden and a disappointment." He looked her dead in the eye as he said this. Gia tried her best to not break down in here, in front of them.

"I gave you everything you could've wanted. I took care of you, when your own fucking mother left you! And this is how you repay me for everything I've done for you? You couldn't get any worse," he let out a chuckle, letting go of her face, walking back to the table, he trew the photos back onto it. "Get out of my face."

Without being asked twice, she left his office, quickly running into her room, locking her door behind her.

Once she was there, she didn't even made it to her bed, before breaking down in the middle of her room, her whole body shaking.

Putting her hand against her mouth, she tried her hardest to silent her sobs that were coming out of her.

Her breaths came out as pants, and she tried her hardest to calm herself. She felt like she couldn't breathe. Her hands shook, her vision was disfigured as if she was looking through fish lens.

But she knew that the only person to blame was her and her only.

After all, it's been her who's been making the bed.
