Sunlight lit up Gianna's room as she opened her eyes in the morning with a smile still on her face from last night.
Finishing getting ready to school, she walked to the kitchen, "good morning."
"Good morning, what's up with the smile on your face?" Her dad asked her, not used to seeing her with a smile lately.
Gianna shrugged, "just woke up on the right side of the bed," she smiled behind the mug she stole from her dad.
Grimacing at the taste, she placed it back in front of him. "Gross, black coffee."
"You're acting as if I haven't been drinking black coffee the past sixteen years you've been alive," he rolled his eyes at her dramatics, taking sip of his coffee.
Saying bye to Marco, she walked out of the house, finally taking the time to look at her phone.
Freezing in the middle of their pathway that led to their front door, she stared at the phone, trying to convince herself she wasn't seeing right.
The door behind her opened and Marco walked out, "forgot something?" He teased with a smile on his face.
Snapping out of the trance she was in, she shook her head. "Actually," she turned around, "could you bring me my keys? I'm gonna drive to school today."
"Sure," he nodded and turned around, appearing on the porch second later. "There you go."
She gave him a tight smile, "thanks."
Turning around she got into her car. She didn't drive a lot, she wasn't very comfortable doing so. But right now she didn't really care.
She pulled out of the driveway, to not risk her dad or Rosa seeing her. She pulled to the side, a fee streets away from her house, so that she didn't block the road.
She looked at the message that made her heart drop.
'Don't contact me again.'
Message from Eliseo said. That was it, nothing more to it, leaving Gia confused with her heart pounding all the way to her ears.
Swallowing, she quickly started typing, but gave up a second later. Her eyes watered she could barely see what she was typing and her hands shook, she would always tap the wrong letter.
Deciding it was better and quicker if she just called him, she dialed his number.
"The number you have dialed has been disconnected."
Pulling the phone away from her ear, she stared at it. Dialing his number, she tried again.
"The number you have dialed has been disconnected."
"Fuck!" She screamed, throwing her phone on the ground, punching the steering wheel and then leaning her head against it, her breathing unsteady.
Taking a long deep breath, she tried to calm herself, shaking her hands in front of her.
"It's fine. Everything is fine," she tried to comfort herself, her voice and entire body shaking.
She counted to ten, trying to steady her breathing.
After a few minutes, she calmed down a little. Reaching down to retrieve her phone, she put it onto the seat next to her, ignoring messages from Chiara and Ludo.
Starting her car again, she pulled away from where she was parked, making her way to Eliseo's place.
————
Jogging up the stairs, she finally reached Eliseo's floor.
"Open the door, Eliseo!" She yelled, banging on his door. "Open the fucking door, Eliseo!"
The door to her left opened, "yo what's up with yelling?" The guy who opened the door asked, sleepily rubbing his eyes.
Gia ignored him, keeping her attention on the door in front of her. "Eliseo," she said more quiet now than before.
"Eliseo is not there," the guy said.
Turning to face him, she glared at him, hoping he won't omment on red red eyes.
"Who are you?" She glared at him.
"Valentino," the guy simply answered, "and I live here, so if you could lower your voice so that I could go back to sleep, that'd be great."
"Where is he?" Gia asked him.
"He's gone," he said, completely unaware that the words just made her heart drop.
"When is he going to be back?" She asked.
Valentino looked at her with blank stare, "never. He moved out. Sorry. Now shut up and let me sleep," he finished, shutting his door behind himself.
Gianna stood there, frozen in place, staring at the door that Valentino stood in seconds ago. Turning her gaze to the door in front of her, a sob broke out of her. She put her hand against her mouth, in hopes to keep herself quiet.
Kicking the door with all the strength she had, she cursed at the pain and turned around, walking back to her car, ready to drive herself back home, not caring that she was going to see Rosa and maybe even her father there.
———
"Hey, you forget something?" Rosa's voice carried throught the hallway, once Gianna opened the front door.
"I'm not feeling well," Gianna said, not really telling a lie. She kept her eyes down, not wanting Rosa, who now stood in the hallway with her, to see her red and moist eyes.
"Okay, that's fine," Rosa assured, nodding. "You want me to call your father?"
"No, that's fine. I'm just gonna go lay down," still keeping her eyes on the ground, she passed by Rosa, who had a confused look on her face, she walked to her room, closing the door behind her.
Laying down onto her bed, she put the sheets over her, covering her entire body. She buried her face in the sheets, and let herself cry.
———-
A knock on the door forced Gia to look away from her phone, looking at Rosa, who now stood in her doorway. "There's someone to see you," she said and got out of the way, revealing Ludo and Chiara.
Walking into Gia's room, Chiara closed the door behind them as Ludo immedietly made her way towards Gia, who sat on the bed with vacant look in her eyes.
"What's wrong?" She asked, pulling her into her embrace.
"Why were you not in school? We were worried about you, you weren't answering," Chiara said, joining the girls on Gia's bed.
Gia pulled away from Ludo, looking at her friends. "He's gone," she simply said, sad look on her face.
"Who is?" Chiara asked, with furrowed eyebrows.
"Eliseo is," she gritted her teeth. "He left. He fucking left me," she forced out, letting out a sob involutary.
Both Chiara and Ludo pulled the crying blonde into a hug, comforting her.
"He texted me last night after I fell asleep to not contact him again," she started explaining, tears streaming down her face. "I tried calling him, but it said the number is diconnected," she continued, scoffing. "I drove over to his apartment, and I had to find out from some random guy, that he moved out," she shook her head, a bitter laugh escaping her. "I don't know what I fucking did wrong."
Ludo shook her head, "nothing. You did nothing wrong, Gia," she assured her, hurting for her best friend.
Chiara nodded, agreeing with Ludo. "He's an asshole. He never deserved you."
Sighing, Gia nodded her head, wiping away her tears, "yeah."
"Look," Chiara started, "I have three tickets to a spa, Ludo and I are on our way there. You wanna come with us?"
Gia shook her head, "I don't think I'm feeling up for it, sorry," she told them a sad smile.
Chiara nodded, "that's understandable. Don't apologize," she shook her head.
"We'll always be here if you need us, okay?" Ludo asked, wiping Gia's tears from her cheeks.
Gianna nodded, "thank you, guys," she said, pulling them both into a hug, super grateful to be friends with them.
