It's been a month since Gianna was in school. A month passed since she saw her father, since she talked to him. A month since she saw her friends in person.
Well not really, Chiara did come over one time, few days after the news broke out, to check on Gia how she was doing. And she texted sometimes, asking if she needed something or wanted to hang out.
Gia's answer was always no, but she appreciated that Chiara cared enough to ask and reach out. Unlike Camilla Rossi, who as if forgotten Gia's phone number.
Camilla's brother on the other hand, has shown Gia the same attention like before her father's arrest.
As she walked into the school, everyone turned to look at her, turning to their friends, whispering, gossiping.
Keeping her head up, she walked through the hallway. From the corner of her eye, she could see a particular group of people, in which stood the boy she missed even though it's been only 48 hours since they've seen each other.
He watched her and she knew knew it. Trying not to make it obvious that she was looking at him, she gave him a quick glance, her heart going on a rollercoaster at the sight of him.
Seeing his girlfriend standing beside him, pulling his face into a kiss, she averted her gaze. Ignoring the weird sting in her chest, she continued making her way towards the classroom where she was supposed to meet Ludovica.
"Hey, Gia," Chiara called out, smiling at her. Gia smiled at her, her gaze sliding to the duo that stood next to the blonde.
Fabio and Camilla.
Gianna was never really close with Fabio, he was more of Chiara and Camilla's friend . But he and Gia only talked sometimes, when they both hung out with Chiara.
He didn't reach out to her, of course. He probably didn't even have her number, to be honest.
Camilla, on the other hand, for sure had Gianna's number, and the reason why she didn't reach out at least once while Gia was gone, was uknown to the blonde.
It stung. Gia considered Camilla one of her closest friends, together with Chiara.
But then again, Gianna wasn't the greatest friend either, she supposed, thinking about Camilla's brother, with who she had something going on.
Plastering a sweet smile on her face, she walked towards the trio.
"Hey guys," Gia greeted unsurely, looking at Fabio and Camilla.
Fabio greeted her back with a smile. While Camilla stayed quiet. No smile, no nod, nothing.
Gia brushed it off, acting as if it didn't sadden her.
"How are you?" Chiara asked with a gentle smile while Camilla next to her just continued to stare at Gia as if she was trying to figure her out.
Gia took a deep breath, "fine," she nodded and pressed her lips together.
"Are you coming to Brando's party?" Camilla finally spoke up, staring into Gia's eyes.
Gia looked at Camilla with a surprise and thought for a second, "I'm not sure.." she trailed off, sahking her head. A party isn't exactly on her mind right now.
"You should come, everyone will be there," Cami said, making Gia slightly raise her eyebrows.
Before any of them could say anything else, they turned around at the sound of Niccolo's girlfriend's voice.
"Here comes pudding bowl," Virginia started, using her nickname for Ludovica, "what were you doing in the toilet? Making another porn movie? Send it to us," she said with a laugh.
Gia glared at her, gritting her teeth together. Ludovica didn't bat an eye at Virginia, just continued down the hallway, making eye contact with Gia.
Gia didn't hesitate, before walking towards her greeting her with a smile and gentle hand on her arm.
Linking their arms together, Gia ignored the loud whispers behind her saying something along the lines 'since when are they friends?' 'no way Gianna is a slut too'.
"You know when I saw you stand there with them, I was kinda scared you were gonna ditch me," Ludo said, laughing.
Gia smiled, "not happening," the girls looked at each other and smiled. Even though they started hanging out just a few weeks ago, they were really happy they had someone like the other girl.

"Gianna, glad to see you're back," her teacher, Mr. De Nardis, greeted her when she walked into the classroom after her classes ended.
"Hello," she gave him a polite smile, coming to stand in front of his desk.
Mr. De Nardis stood up, eye level with her. Giving her a gentle smile, he tilted his head, "I heard about your father. I'm so sorry Gianna. How are you holding up?"
Gia gave him a tight smile, clenching her fists next to her hips. "I'm fine," she nodded, a bit too much to not be considered weird. "Yeah."
Mr. De Nardis gave her a sad nod, his eyebrows scrunched together. "Do you want to talk about it? How is your father?"
Gia shook her head, "I don't know, I didn't talk to him," she said, letting out an awkward chuckle. "And no, I don't want to talk about it. Um, I'm here for the.. um," she scratched the top of her head, looking for her words.
For some reason, she was feeling really nervous and uncomfortable and words just disappeared from her vocabulary.
"The work that I need to finish. Since I missed a month of school," she nodded as he widened his eyes and started nodding.
"Right, right, of course," he said. Turning his attention from Gia he started looking through his drawers, while Gianna silently watched him. "You can sit down," he gave her a quick glance, "might take me a while," he let out a chuckle.
Taking a deep breath and then loudly exhaling, she made her way to one of the student's desk, sitting at the first one.
SIghing again, she placed her hands before her and looked around the class, trying to find something that would be fun to watch, but found nothing. The class was still plain and boring like a month ago.
"Found it!" Mr. De Nardis exclaimed, pulling out sheets of papers into the air in triumph. "Alright," he mumbled for himself, walking towards the girl.
Taking a chair he put it in front of the table, sat down and placed the papers on the desk.
"Okay, so," he started. "This is all the work you've missed," he told her, pointing to the text where it seemed he had written all the assignments he had given to students in the month Gianna wasn't at school. And it was quite a lot.
"But considering your situation, I'll only need these two things from you," he said, pointing to those two assignments.
"So I only need to write paper about one of these topics and write one exam?" Gia asked with furrowed eyebrows. From exactly ten assignments that the rest of her classmates had to hand in, Gia had to hand in only two. Didn't seem fair, but who was she to complain.
"Exactly," he nodded and gave her a grin. He put a hand on her shoulder, "I don't want to give you any excessive stress at the moment. I can't even imagine what you're going through."
Gia's eyes fell onto the hand on her shoulder, looking at it weirdly, she gave him a polite smile and nodded. "Thank you, Mr. De Nardis, I appreciate it."
"Don't mention it. And call me Girardo. Hearing everyone call me Mr. De Nardis is making me feel old," he joked, chuckling, not even noticing that the girl in front of him wasn't laughing with him.
"Alright, well, I don't know if it's appropriate for me to call you Girardo," she gave him a tight smile and started to get up.
"Well, then call me Girardo in private," he said and smiled at her. "It'll be like our little secret, hm?"
Gia stared at him, her lips pulled in thin line. "I should get going. Start working on the paper," she awkwardly chuckled.
"Of course," Girardo nodded, "let me walk you out," he said, placing a hand on her back that had Gianna turn her head around and look into his eyes that were already trained on hers.
Giving her a sweet smile, he walked her towards the classroom door and opened it for her. "I'll see you tomorrow in class, Miss Alamanni."
Giving him a smile, she noddded and walked through the door, "goodbye."
As the door shut behind her, she continued to stand in the spot in front of the door. Taking a deep breath she thought back to the whole interation with her teacher.
She shook it off, and started to walk towards the school exit.
School was pretty much empty, no one was in the hallway. Only people here were probably just teachers finishing up their work and Gianna.
Suddenly she feels a hand on her wrist that pulls her into a corridor.
Gia prepared to scream suddenly freezes upon seeing the face of Niccolo Rossi. The guy she's been thinking nonstop about and the guy she knows she shouldn't think about. The guy that is a brother of her old best friend, Camilla.
"Hey, sorry, I didn't mean to scare you," Nicco apologizes, his free hand going to the back of his neck, shooting her a grin. His other hand has slowly moved down to her palm. Almost unnoticible that he's still touching her.
As she looked into Nicco's eyes her features softened and a soft, barely visible smile has formed on her face.
"What do you want?" She asked sighing, hating how cold she sounded.
Nicco's smile fell a little, but he pretended as if her tone didn't bother him and took a deep breath. "I missed you," he looked between her eyes, his gaze dropping to her lips for a second. He missed kissing her too.
Gia tried to hide the smile that tried to break out to the surface, but she failed.
Noticing, Nicco grinned, making Gia roll her eyes at him.
"Where did you forget Virginia?" Gianna asked, crossed her arms in front of her and turned her head away from him.
Nicco tsked, "come on," he started, grin on his face. "Don't be like that," he put his hands on both of cheeks and turned her head towards him again.
Gianna shook her head and shrugged, "like what? It was just a question."
"You're jealous," Niccolo stated.
Gianna shook her head again, "you're delusional," she said, trying not to smile.
Nicco chuckled, leaning in he put his lips on hers, gently at first. Gianna uncrossed her arms and snaked them around Nicco's waist, pulling him closer to her.
Pulling away for a second, they looked at each other before pulling the other into a kiss again, this time more passionate.
Gia smiled into the kiss, pressing Nicco against a wall.
"Let me drive you home," he said, separating himself from her lips.
