Kung Lao: I hope your girlfriend's worth lord Raiden's anger, Liu Kang

Liu Lang: Notice that I am ignoring you

(Liu Kang, Kung Lao, and Echo look around)

Kung Lao: Hmmm... they must have relocated Kitana

(Sheeva, Baraka, and Noob Saibot enter the room)

Noob Saibot: We have indeed, we knew someone would come for her

(Echo fights Baraka in the background)

(Liu Kang fights Sheeva in the background)

(Kung Lao fights Noob Saibot. Noob Saibot's shadow magic and clones present a challenge for Kung Lao, but with his shaolin techniques and his bladed hat, he's able to defeat Noob)

Kung Lao: Be thankful that I do not choose to spill your tainted blood. Who are you? There is something familiar...

(Echo is still fighting Baraka)

(Liu Kang is struggling to beat Sheeva)

Kung Lao: Need any help? Four arms against two is hardly a fair fight

(Goro enters the room)

Goro: Liu Kang?! Rar!

Kung Lao: You have had your match against Liu Kang. Now you will face me!

(Kung Lao fights Goro. All four of Goro's arms are too much to keep up with defensively, so Kung Lao takes a risk and stays on offense, slowly wearing down Goro until his defeat)

(Liu Kang defeats Sheeva in the background with a fire blast)

Kung Lao: Now, if you have any honor left...you will tell us where Kitana is!

Goro: She has been taken to the coliseum, where she has no doubt been executed. After, they plan to kill Skarlet and Rain

Echo: Didn't I kill Skarlet?

Goro: She survived, thanks to blood magic

Liu Kang: You lie!

(Liu Kang kicks Goro in the face)

Kung Lao: Wait. She may yet live, let us go

(Echo defeats Baraka with a side kick)

Echo: I'll follow your lead

(Kung Lao nods)

(Soon)

(Ermac defeats Smoke and Johnny Cage in a fight)

Shang Tsung: Ermac wins!

(Echo, Kung Lao, and Liu Kang arrive at the coliseum. Kitana, Rain, and Skarlet are being held captive)

Kung Lao: There's Kitana

(Kung Lao points to the prisoners)

Kung Lao: Skarlet and Rain are here too. Goro was telling the truth

Liu Kang: I must free her!

Raiden: Not now! Smoke and Johnny Cage have been defeated, and I no longer sense Jaxon Briggs' or Sonya Blade's presence in out world. Despite my doubts as to wether or not you are earth realm's savior, you must fight!

Liu Kang: But I am not he who must win

(Liu Kang walks over to Kitana, who is surrounded by tarkatans)

Shao Khan: Raiden! Put forth a worthy champion, if you can

(Raiden and Kung Lao look at each other)

Raiden: Perhaps you were meant to be the victor

(Kung Lao steps forward)

Shao Khan: You will face Shang Tsung!And Quan Chi!

(Shang Tsung and Quan Chi step forward)

Quan Chi: No earth realm boy can stop this deadly alliance

Shang Tsung: On that we agree

Shao Khan: And your partner?

Kung Lao: Echo!

(Kung Lao and Echo work together to fight Shang Tsung and Quan Chi at the same time. Each of the two choose one target and decide to take them one on one. As both pairs of kombatants fight simultaneously, there is frequent switching of battle partners because of Echo and Kung Lao's tag team strategy)

(With teamwork, Kung Lao and Echo manage to take down Shang Tsung and Quan Chi)

Kung Lao: It is done!

Shang Tsung: No, Kung Lao. Not nearly so

(Kintaro walks out of a cage door)

Kintaro: I will eat your heart!

(Kung Lao fights Kintaro. It's very similar to the fight with Goro, only Kung Lao has to dodge blasts of Kintaro's fire breath. Kung Lao still comes out on top)

Kung Lao: (Laughs in Shaolin)

(Kung Lao takes off his hat and bows to the crowd)

Kung Lao: You see, Raiden? Earth realm is free-

(Shao Khan snaps Kung Lao's neck)

Echo: Mother of fu-

Raiden: Kung Lao!

Kenshi: Oh my god!

Liu Kang: Nooo!

Raiden: I will strip the flesh from your bones!

(Liu Kang tackles Shao Khan)

(Shao Khan throws Liu Kang off of himself)

Shao Khan: Witless boy, do you know who I am?

Liu Kang: The murderer of my friend!

Shao Khan: I am Shao Khan, conqueror of worlds! You will taste no victory!

Liu Kang: You will taste your own blood!

(Liu Kang fights Shao Khan. His rage fuels his fire and gives him the strength to defeat his opponent)

(Echo throws some stars at Shao Khan and gives him a Lin Kuei style beat-down)

(Kenshi hits Shao Khan with his sword)

(Raiden blasts Shao Khan with his lightning)

(Smoke hits Shao Khan with a ball of smoke)

(Johnny Cage spinning-jump kicks Shao Khan)

(Liu Kang flying dragon kicks Shao Khan, knocking him down)

Liu Kang: On your feet!

Echo: He is weak! Finish him!

(Liu Kang's fist is on fire)

Liu Kang: For Kung Lao, for the Shaolin, and earth realm!

(Liu Kang punches straight through Shao Khan's chest and out through his back)

Shang Tsung: I cannot believe it. Earth realm has won

(A blinding light surrounds Liu Kang)

Raiden: The elder gods have spoken. Earth realm is free of Shao Khan forever

(Shao Khan is carried away by some tarkatans)

(Shao Khan's followers leave with the rest of the tarkatans)

(Raiden's followers surround Kung Lao's body)

Raiden: But the price of victory was almost too steep to pay. Kung Lao's death is my fault. I encouraged him. Our triumph was not meant to be achieved in this way. I see now, he must win refers to you. But to prevent armageddon, you needed to defeat Shao Khan, notShang Tsung

Echo: No, it's my fault. I didn't volunteer to fight. And Kung Lao did

Raiden: It takes a good man to admit his faults, Echo. But the blame is mine and mine alone

(Raiden's amulet cracks)

Raiden: It cannot be! Shao Khan is dead! Yet, the future remains unchanged!

Echo: Unless he survived, or got resurrected?

Kenshi: Hmm. Could very well be

Echo: We should free the prisoners. They may want to fight at our side

(Echo frees Rain)

(Liu Kang frees Kitana)

(Raiden frees Skarlet)

Echo: Rain, I know you desire the throne. But we have a common enemy. Help us overthrow Shao Khan, and you can take the throne

Rain: You have yourself a deal

Raiden: Join us, Skarlet. In the fight against Shao Khan

Skarlet: Shao Khan will pay for trying to execute me!

Kitana: Liu Kang! You came!

Liu Kang: Of course I did. I-

(Kitana kisses Liu Kang)

(Meanwhile)

(Shao Khan's followers are gathered in a circle)

Goro: Shao Khan is finished

Baraka: Mileena is his heir, she should rule

Shang Tsung: Mileena? She exists only because of my sorcery

(Shao Khan appears, but is weak)

Shao Khan: And you breathe because I restrain mine!

Sheeva: Emperor!

Goro: You live!

Shao Khan: I am not so easily killed. Quan Chi's magic accelerated my recovery

Shang Tsung: Emperor, I-

Shao Khan: Not. One. Word. Because of you, out world can no longer merge with earth realm!

Quan Chi: There may yet be an alternative, emperor. Invasion

Shang Tsung: Invasion?!

Shao Khan: Shush. Do you mock me? Sindel's ward prevents me from setting foot in earth realm

Quan Chi: Have you ever considered why your wife and empress chose to betray you in this particular fashion?

Shao Khan: Of course, but even after millennia, her motives are a mystery

Quan Chi: She realized that the safeguards afforded by the elder gods through mortal kombat are but fiction. She sacrificed herself to give protection that the elder gods could not. So earth realm would not suffer as had Edenia

Shao Khan: Indeed

Quan Chi: I have mastered the spells necessary for her resurrection. Her ward will be nullified. And with it, the barrier that prevents your entry into earth realm. I will return her to you, of course. You will find her much more... cooperative

Shao Khan: This is a very magnanimous offer

Quan Chi: I wish only to serve, emperor

Shao Khan: I am weary of sorcerers, Quan Chi. Prove your worth. Bring her to me

(Quan Chi and Noob Saibot travel to Sindel's grace and raise her from the dead)

Quan Chi: Sindel

Sindel: Quan Chi?

Quan Chi: Shao Khan looks forward to your return

Sindel: Screw you! I will not bow down to Shao Khan! Never again!

(Sindel gets in a fight with Quan Chi and Noob Saibot)

(She injures them both, but Sindel gets restrained by Noob Saibot's shadow clones)

(Quan Chi uses a hypnosis spell on Sindel)

Quan Chi: I said the emperor looks forward to your return
