Prologue: Echo

Raiden: (Snaps out of his visions)

Liu Kang: Lord Raiden? What is wrong?

Raiden: Strange visions of the future

(Raiden's amulet cracks)

Liu Kang: Your amulet!

Raiden: It is nothing Liu Kang, the tournament begins

(Everyone gathers in a crowd)

(Echo puts on his mask and joins the crowd)

Bi-Han: (Whispers) You're late

Echo: (Whispers) Sorry, just had to help Kuai with something

Shang Tsung: Kombatants, I am Shang Tsung. In the coming days each of you will fight. Some of you were brought here of your own volition, others were brought here by chance

Johnny: Hey beautiful, Johnny Cage

Sonya: Good for you (Rolls her eyes)

Johnny: What? Massive strike? Citizen Cage?Ninja Mime? None of those ring a bell?

Kano: (Casually walking)

Sonya: Kano...

Johnny: Kano? Wasn't in that one

Shang Tsung: You participate in the most important mortal kombat in history! This tournament, the tenth after nine outworld victories, will determine earth realm's fate.If you defeat all of your opponents, you will face one final challenge. ME

Johnny: Ha! That old geezer is the final challenge? They might as well give me the belt right now. Uh... they do have belts right?

Echo: Don't be so sure. With age comes experience

Johnny: Shut it, ninja

(Shang Tsung is right behind Johnny and clears his throat)

Johnny: What? How did you-

Shang Tsung: He is right you know, appearances can be deceiving

Liu Kang: I'm not the biggest fan of Lin Kuei ninjas, but on that we can agree

Shang Tsung: Our first kombatant is Echo!

Echo: I accept, who is my opponent?

Shang Tsung: Your first opponent will be.....Skarlet!

Skarlet: (Makes a blood ball) I am going to suck you dry!

Echo: I like where this is going

(This earns a laugh from Johnny and a few others in the crowd)

Skarlet: You fools! Argh! (Pulls out her dagger)

(Echo fights Skarlet, after some traded blows, Echo spin kicks Skarlet. She falls into her dagger hand and accidentally stabs herself in the side, in result she drops her dagger)

(Echo picks up the dagger and slashes Skarlet's throat open)

(Skarlet falls on the ground bleeding)

Shang Tsung: FATALITY!

(Skarlet lives because of her blood powers)

(Some people clap, while others don't budge)

Shang Tsung: Your next opponent will be...... Tremor!

Tremor: I hope you like getting punched

Echo: LeTs rOCk! aNd rOll!

(Tremor gets angry at the joke and runs straight at Echo)

(Echo extends his staff, spins it around, and hits Tremor on the head)

Tremor: You will regret that!

(Echo and Tremor land some good hits on each other. Tremor kept throwing rocks at Echo, who caught a rock and threw it at Tremor, and the rock hit his head. Tremor was stunned, but then Echo uses his staff to knock Tremor out)

Shang Tsung: FINISH HIM!

(Echo twists the staff so a blade comes out, then he drives it straight into Tremor's chest, injuring him greatly)

Shang Tsung: Your next opponent will be.....Rain!

Rain: Sorry, but swords don't work on gods

Echo: Good thing you're only half

(Echo fights Rain, but Rain constantly teleports behind Echo. Then, once Echo knew Rain's strategy he threw a smoke bomb behind himself once Rain teleported)

Rain: (Coughs) Huh? What is in that thing?

Echo: Oh nothing, just a little power nullifier(Jump kicks Rain)

Shang Tsung: FINISH HIM!

(Echo uses his sword to stab Rain in the heart)

(He lives because he is half god)

Shang Tsung: Echo wins again!

Bi-Han: (Thinks) We have taught you well

Shang Tsung: Your next opponent will be...Kano!

(Kano chugs a beer and walks over to Echo to size him up)

Kano: Heh, I will walk right through you kid

Echo: I'm not scared of some tatted up gun dealer

Shang Tsung: FIGHT!

(Echo takes Kano down with hand to hand, this was arguably the easiest fight he had so far)

Shang Tsung: FINISH HIM!

(Kano is on his knees as Echo readies his sword)

Sonya: WAIT, DONT!

Echo: Ugh. Fine (Kicks Kano in the face)

Shang Tsung: Your next opponent will be....Kenshi!

Kenshi: I will cut you down

(Echo fights Kenshi. Echo has to dodge Kenshi's sword many times. When Echo gets a chance, he knocks Kenshi unconscious with his nunchucks)

Shang Tsung: FINISH HIM!

Echo: Not this time

(Echo returns his sword to his sheath)

Shang Tsung: Very well, return to the audience. Your list is complete

(Echo walks into the crowd, but then Kano draws a submachine gun)

Kano: No one screws with Kano!

(Echo draws both of his swords)

(Kano starts firing his gun, but Echo spins his swords so fast that the bullets can't hit him)

(A beam of ice then freezes Kano's gun)

Kano: Huh? Hey, what gives?!

Bi-Han: You dishonor this tournament

(Bi-Han summons an ice hammer, and whacks Kano with it)

(He flies into a gong, making a very loud noise)

Raiden: You fought with ferocity

Echo: Thank you, mr....

Raiden: I am Raiden, god of thunder. Which faction do you represent?

Echo: I am of the Lin Kuei

(Raiden has a vision)

Raiden: Do you know of Shao Khan's plan?

Echo: Who is Shao Khan?

Raiden: He is an evil emperor who wants to absorb earth realm into out world

Echo: What? Bi-Han has never told me any of this before

Raiden: Anything he has not told you by now, he does not want you to know. He is using you

Echo: Can't you stop it somehow?

Raiden: Unless directly challenged I cannot participate

Echo: How can I help?

Raiden: Listen closely
