Ch.8 Storms

โ€ข--()--โ€ข

= STUMBLING OUT THE TALL GRASS, a now human Madison plays with her shirt that she swiftly tucks into her baggy beige pants. She couldn't risk getting them ripped so she had to get naked outside and transform, something the female didn't exactly enjoy but does so anyway.

Joining the group, Madison pops her mouth as they watch Ellie go through Triceratops poop.

"That is one big pile of shit." Malcolm is the first the speak, commenting on the size he and the rest grazes their eyes upon. You could tell the disgust in his voice as nearby, Ellie who was now wearing rubber gloves is found digging through another pile of droppings.

"You're right. There's no trace of lilac berries. That's so odd, though." Ellie stands up and walks off, questions and thoughts playing on in her head before she decides. "All right, she's suffering from Melia toxicity... every six weeks..."

"She's tenacious." Madison notes while Alan lowly chuckles from beside her, making both the girl and the black headed male on the opposite side of him look to the Paleontologist.

Alan, responds swiftly. "You have no idea."

Malcolm then turns to Ellie, Madison noticing him clench his fists tightly. Confusing the mutant. "You will remember to wash your hands before you eat anything?"

Madison jumps when a loud thunderclap of a storm crackling in the distance is heard, followed by Gennaro stomping his foot on the ground.

"Doctors, if you please-- I have to insist that we get moving." Donald tells the professors in the group.

"Oh. You know if it's alright I'd like to stay with Doctor Harding and finish up with the Trike. If you know...." Ellie says, stopping to gesture to the area around her.

"Sure, I'm in a gas-powered jeep. I can drop her off at the Visitor's Center before I make the boat with the others." Harding responds, waving to the now human Madison who smiles and waved back.

"Great. Then I'll catch up with you if you want to go on." Clapping her hands, Ellie has a big and excited grin on her face.

Alan watches his female companion with uncertainty. "You sure?"

"Yeah, I want to stay with her a little longer." Ellie nods in an assuring manner.

Grant nods with a heavy sigh. "Okay, then."

The group returns to their vehicles and Madison decides to hog the back of the car, wanting to have a quick nap on the way back while Alan and Ian sits in the front.

The car stills as the men fall into quietness, there seemed to be tension rising from amongst them and they both seemed to know why.

"Do you have any kids?" Alan asks, striking up a conversation.

"Me? Oh, hell yeah. Three. I love kids. Anything at all can and does happen. Same with wives, for that matter." Malcolm nods. Answering his question as they keep an eye on the car in front of them, and if they were quiet enough. They'd hear the soft but ragged snores leaving the napping female in the back.

"You're married?" Alan looks to the man in surprise, crossing his arms tiredly and leans his head back with groan. Sparing a glance to the purple and pink headed female in the back.

Malcolm shrugs to his question. "Occasionally. I'm always on the lookout for a future ex-Mrs. Malcolm." When he see's Alan Grant turn to him, Malcolm laughs slightly.

"Look, we might have only met like a few hours ago but I can tell you are a good man Dr Grant." Malcolm tells the man, surprising the male who nods quietly. "I don't mean to make you jealous with Dr Sattler back there, I have something else I found." Ian adds, holding his hands up in defensive.

"Of course you do." Alan grumbles.

Rain after 10 minutes began to pour heavily against the vehicle. Waking up the female who sits up, noticing in surprise at the car stilling. It was only her and Ian in the car while through her groggy eyes noticed Alan jogging back over in the pouring rain.

"Their radio's out too. Gennaro said to stay put." Alan says, oblivious to the obviously awake female tiredly rubbing her eyes with a quiet yawn.

"Are the kids okay?" Malcolm asks.

"I didn't ask." The other male with the bucket hat responds, staring at the male with confusion. "Why wouldn't they be?"

"Kids get scared." Ian points out.

"What's scary? It's just a little hiccup in the power." Alan looks to him in straight confusion.

Malcolm furrows his eyebrows while Madison hears the whole conversation. "I'm not scared."

"I didn't say you were scared." Grant rolls his eyes, leaning on his palm to tiredly gaze towards the enclosure they had stopped near.

"I know." Malcolm grumbles.

"Strange men." The pair jumps when Madison decides to stick her head between them both. Hand reaching over to press the radio with her fingers, tongue sticking out from the right side slightly as she began tapping it.

"What happened to the maniac's voice?" Madison asks, looking to both the males as she leans backwards. Noticing their silent manners.

"..."

"Did you two fuck each other or something?"

They turn to the girl with straight up confused and dumbfounded faces, finding her have a blank face with a sheepish smile twitching on her lips as she raises her hands up slightly. "Did you?"

"No, of course not. If we did, wouldn't you have heard us?" Alan asks the girl with deeply furrowed eyebrows.

"I need five horns to wake me up." Madison responds, shrugging her shoulders and looks out the window on Ian's side. Eyebrows furrowing. "Why have we stopped?"

"The power went out, we were told to remain here." Ian informs her, watching as the female opens the door and make her way to the fence. Something was wrong, she could like feel it. The small rumble through the air.

The two males watch as she touches the fence. Her lips slowly parted when Madison felt no electrical shock, eyes slowly turning as she felt the ground shake slowly. They latch onto a water puddle where it shook and so, she jumped back into the truck. Cursing lightly.

"Now where does he think he's going?" Grant asks his two companions in the car, Madison looking up to find them staring at the bathroom.

Malcolm shrugs, flicking his eyes from Madison and Alan. "When you've gotta go, you've gotta go."

Another sound gets their attention, and Madison's blood runs cold. Her face pales with shock.

It was the t-rex. God, that was the enclosure they were near and the electric fences weren't working. It was what was going happen as the Tyrannosaurus rex finally steps out of the enclosure.

"God, do I hate being right all the time." Malcolm mutters. The Rex approaches their car, deciding to nudge it with her snout as when Malcolm goes to lock the door. He feels the whited eyed girl grip his shoulder, digging her fingers into his flesh.

"Don't fucking move." Madison whispers through her gritted teeth.

"Keep absolutely still. Its vision is based on movement." Alan informs the pair whose eyes were glued onto the giant animal.

In front of them, a light is flashed. Shocking the group even more as the T-Rex turns her attention to the first one. From the light, Madison squints her eyes and then widens them.

"He left them..." she whispers in an hushed tone.

"Madison, they'll be fine if they turn that light off." Alan flies his hand back and grabs the girls wrist when she went to exit the car.

"They're my niece and nephe-"

In a blink of an eye, the Rex's head crashes down, slamming the plexiglass roof of the car down onto the kids. The plexiglass holds, however, it is the only thing protecting the kids from the Rex's teeth. The kids scream in terror.

The Tyrannosaurus then slams its head against the car, tipping it into the air. A second slam flips the car completely over. The T. rex stands on top of the car and starts trying to bite its way through.

The kids are trapped in the rapidly crushing car, and mud and water are pouring in around them.

In the rear car Madison frowns as she helps Alan to fins a box of flares and grabs one. The girl slipping off her top to reveal her bra, shocking the males as she hops out the car.

Hearing their steps, the T-rex stops the attacks on the children to find Madison holding a gun aimed to the animal. They recognised her. Of course they did.

She was the one to raise them.
