Chapter 4

Aaron's POV.

I sit at my desk and sigh. Today is not my day. I have so much late paperwork to do, I just can't be interrupted.

Then there was a big knock on my door. Oh jeez.

"Come in." I say tiredly.

Next thing I know Alexander rushed in my office and sat down in front of me.

"Alexander? Why are you here?" I ask.

"WE- there is an emergency! I- I don't who else too talk to about it!" Alexander says.

"Is someone hurt?" I ask.

"No-" Alexander starts

"Is there another war?"

"No but-"

"Is there someone in trouble?"

"What! no-"

"Then there is no emergency, now can you please-"

"I THINK THOMAS JEFFERSON LIKES ME AND HE IS FLIRTING." Alexander blurts out.

"Wait what?" I say, super confused.

"I think Jefferson likes me. He is flirting with me." Alexander repeats

"Oh. What do you want me to do about it?" I say.

"Well- your married! Do you have any advice?" Alexander asks.

"Uhm, well first ask yourself this, Do you like Thomas too? Like more than a friend?" I ask.

"I don't know.. I never really thought about that." Alexander says.

"Well, just go along with his flirts, you'll figure out if you like him or not." I say.

"Hmm.. alright! Thank you again! Say hello too Theodosia for me!" Alexander says, he waved and then runs out of my office.

Theodosia. My wife. She's currently pregnant with our first child, we don't know the gender yet. I should be home, but Thomas is always telling me he needs me to come in to work.

I wish Mr. Washington was back, he'd let me stay home.

*Ring*

*Ring*

My work phone goes off, I grab it and answer.

'Hello, This is Aaron Burr from the Washington Offices. How can I assist you?'

'Aaron? Hi!'

'Theodosia? Hello darling! Are you ok? Why are you calling?'

'I'm perfectly fine! I just called because I wanted to know what time you get off of work.'

'Oh, I get off in about 30 minutes! I don't have too work late tonight. Once I get home, I'm all yours!'

'Alright! I'm waiting for you, don't stress to much. I love you hun!'

'I love you too darling, see you at home!'

I hang up with a smile. I start to work on my work.

Writing papers.

Sending letters.

Reviews letter that are for me.

Sorting papers.

Sorting files.

Filing papers.

30 minutes go by pretty quickly I guess, my watch goes off and I start to pack up.

Once I get done packing up, I leave my office. I immediately walk out into the lobby area, then I run into.. Thomas.

"Ah! Burr! Just the man I needed to see!" Thomas exclaims.

"Oh.. Uhm.. hello Thomas." I say.

"Here, can you follow me to my office please?" Thomas asks.

"Oh, I was just about to leave. My shift is over." I say.

I see Thomas sigh, "Does it look like I care? Come on."

"Thomas I have too leave- my wife she's-" I start.

"Your wife this your wife that-  just come, it won't take long." He says

Before I can reply, he pulls me by my arm to his office.

"Soo.. I need to tell you something." Thomas says. He puts me in his office then closes the door.

"Yeah?" I say.

"I may have a small crush on Hamilton." He says, "Now can you try to see if he likes me too? Try to get him to be closer to me. Please?"

"I-  uhm- sure. I'll try." I reply, "Can I leave now?"

"Yes, dismissed." Thomas says.

I smile and wave. Then I run out of Thomas' office down too the lobby and out of the building too my car.

I get in my car and sigh. I start up the car and start to drive home.
