Chapter 3
18:34, 7 May 2022~~~~~LOKI~~~~~
Finding the Hidden Island wasn't hard, especially with the helpful whispers of the book. After the war against Hybern, High lord Rhysand and High Lady Feyre granted the cauldron to Drakkon and Miyrium for safekeeping.
A fact that no one outside of the Night court knows... No one besides Loki Brekker.
They sailed by a steep cliff on the opposite side of the island to where people dwelled. Loki ordered Wylan and Jesper to stay on the ship and make their way around to the main port. Dock and tell them that they were returning from a trip to Prythian.
Winnowing was useless on the secret island, much like the house of wind, and Inej's big Illyrian wings might cause too much attention from the light house at the top of the cliff, so they were resolved to do it the human way.
To climb.
"No mourners," Jesper said as they readied themselves to jump overboard.
"No Funerals." They all responded.
The classic 'good luck' of the barrel. No mourners, no funerals.
What it really means is 'good luck, don't die. Because no one would mourn sorry bastards like us.'
A farewell said before every job, No mourners, no funerals.
With their well wishes. Matthias, Inej, Nina, and Loki all dove overboard into the freezing water. The water slapped at their faces as they swam towards the cliffs, knowing they had to be careful not to let the waves slam them into the rock.
They made it no problem, shivering as they grasped into the jagged surface of the cliff face. They tore fingernails and ripped the skin at their fingertips, leaving a train of their blood up the steep rock.
"Loki? Have I told you today how much I hate you! I'm still scared of heights you bitch! Now you have me hanging from a cliff so we can get water from a magic pot!"
"This is what I do Nina darling. I'm a businesswoman, no more no less."
"You're a thief, Loki," Nina responded with her signature glare.
"Isn't that what I just said." Loki shot her that smirk that always pissed people off.
Nina chucked a stone at Loki hoping that she might fall, only to hit Matthais instead.
"CAN YOU KILL HER AT THE TOP OF THE CLIFF WHEN WERE ARE NOT HANGING ON FOR DEAR LIFE AND I DON'T BECOME COLLATERAL DAMAGE?!?!" Matthias roared at Nina, annoyed to have been his.
They made it to the top, fingers bleeding and knees scrapped. All except for Loki whose hands were safely hidden underneath the wet leather of her gloves.
They made their way through the forest picking off, four guards and putting in their uniforms.
Loki placed a glamour so each of them looked like the person they stole their uniforms from.
They walked straight into the city, towards the main palace where Loki knew the cauldron was hidden.
They walked as casually as they could towards the front gates. Entering without much of a problem.
"Hey! Rashi! Weren't you guys on patrol today?" Loki heard a light delicate voice behind them.
They turned to see a young maid looking up at them in confusion.
"We got an early start so we finished already. We have some other duties today though so we'll see you later." Loki said with a small smile, hoping she was close enough to the guard's personality that the girl wouldn't notice.
"Okay! I'll see you later!" She beamed before heading off to continue her chores.
They moved quickly to the dungeon heading down the endless flights of stairs before finally coming to the room they were looking for.
Loki had paid a pretty penny to get the layout of this palace. But it was so worth it when they opened the door to find the Cauldron.
"Let's do this quick," Matthias whispered standing guard.
Loki took out three vials quickly filling them with the water from the cauldron. "Why three? We only need one." Inej asked.
"Because wraith, if by some miracle Jack Malak's mate becomes fae after drinkin' this, this is gonna sell for millions," Loki responded as if the answer was obvious.
She closed the top of the vials and they headed back up the flights of stairs.
They walked casually towards the docks. They smirked in amusement hearing, Jesper in the distance.
"I TOLD YOU I DON'T HAVE THE PAPERS OF RESIDENCY! MY FRIEND HERE ATE THEM!"
They approached, glad that all attention was on Jesper and not the direction they came from.
Jesper looked up and Loki dropped the glamour for a second so that they could see it was them.
"YOU KNOW WHAT! I'M GOING BACK TO PRYTHIAN! FUCK THIS!" Jesper yelled getting back in their small ship, Wylan hot on his heel. The exacerbated guards that had been arguing with Jesper shook their heads and walked up to them.
"Do you think you can handle this guy? He's giving me a headache and I'm off in five minutes." The guard asked Matthais in disguise.
"Don't worry about it. Why don't you head out early? You deserve it after today." Matthias said.
The guards smiled and thanked him.
Once they were out of sight, Loki dropped the glamour and they all headed to the ship.
"Wylan ate your papers huh?" Nina teased.
"Oh ya! He thought it was bread." Jesper smirked laughing when he noticed Wylan's annoyed blush.
"Why was that what you came up with?!" Wylan spat at the snickering Jesper.
"Doesn't matter. We have what we came for let's go. We gotta be outta sight before someone finds those guards in the woods." Loki ordered. Kicking them all into gear.
And back to the Barrel, they went, to collect their 50 million.
