Normal POV

The movies' night was going well. The children got hooked very easily to the film so there was no need to stand over them. Teachers had watched that typical Christmas movie million of times, so they were just talking, sitting in one of the gym's corners.

When the movie ended, all the teachers took their students to their classrooms. It was time to sleep. The children were putting their sleeping-bags on the floor, just like Demi and Wilmer did. As it was expected, it was not going to be easy to get children to sleep...

—Guys! Come on; get in your sleeping-bags. It's time to sleep! —Demi said walking, around them.

—Miss Lovato, can we talk or play a bit before we sleep? —Violet Wilmer's student asked.

—Yesss! Please, please, please, Miss Demi!!! —Evelyn asked.

Demi looked at Wilmer and he nodded.

—Okay —she replied—. You've got ten minutes before we switch off the lights.

She turned over and walked back to where Wilmer was.

—We've got ten minutes to prepare and talk about the amazing trip we are taking in a couple of days! —Demi whispered to Wilmer.

All of a sudden Wilmer's face turned serious.

—Demi, I... I'd love to talk with you about that... —He muttered nervously.

—What's wrong? —She said, concerned about Wilmer's sudden behavior.

—Well... I think this is not the right place... Could we go to my classroom for a minute? —he said, taking Demi's hand and leading her to his room.

—Guys, we'll be back in a minute! —Demi said while they left the room.

They got into Wilmer's class and he closed the door behind him. He then took a deep breath and he started to explain.

—Demi... I've got something very important to tell you... Some days ago I received a letter from my mom —he sighed.

—And? Is she okay?

—Yes, she is... The thing is my sister and she wanted to give me a surprise and...

—They are coming to visit you soon!!!??? —she shouted excitedly.

—No... —Wilmer replied dejectedly—. The surprise was that they were not going on vacations at Christmas time... They are spending Christmas at home, in Venezuela... and they sent me a plane ticket to go home... for Christmas.

Demi was so amazed she couldn't even talk. She was trying to accept what he was trying to say, but she couldn't.

—I'm sorry Demi... but you know how much I've been missing them...

— Are you trying to tell me you are leaving for Venezuela instead of going to Paris with me as we planned? —Demi reacted.

—I know it might look like I'm being a know-it-all, but you know... It's been a long time I don't see them... —he justified himself.

—I can't believe you're doing this to me, Wilmer! —she yelled.

—I'm sorry Demi! You have to understand me!

—No! I can't! We have the plane tickets and the room already booked! It's just two days before the trip! We've paid everything already! I'm not rich, you know? You don't have the right to do this to me! —she kept yelling hysterically.

—I'm sorry I'll give you your money back! —he tried to comfort her.

—I don't want the money Wilmer! Don't you understand??

—But can't you understand me!? It's a long time I don't see my family! —he said getting angry now.

—BUT DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND I PUT ASIDE MY FAMILY JUST TO GO TO PARIS WITH YOU? I COULD HAVE LEFT YOU ALONE AT CHRISTMAS! AND I WASN'T GOING TO DO IT! —she said almost crying.

—I'm really sorry Demi, seriously... —he told her—. I promise you we will go to Paris another time... —he tried to kiss her.

—Don't kiss me, please! Don't even talk to me! —she yelled again.

Meanwhile, in Demi's classroom...

—My mom told me she recorded our whole performance! I can give a copy to you all if you want to have it! —Allyson Demi's student told her classmates.

—Why would we want it? We don't want to see how horrible you did it Allyson! —Jake joked.

—I didn't do it horribly, Jake! —Allyson shouted upset—. My mom said it was awesome!

—Yes, but she only said that because she is your mom and she doesn't want to hurt you! —he said while laughing.

—That's not true! I'm going to tell Demi that you are being mean to me! —Allyson replied, running to Wilmer's classroom.

—Wait Ally!!! —Evelyn ran out behind her friend.

Evelyn and Ally stopped in front of Wilmer's classroom's door, scared of how Demi and Wilmer were talking at the top of their lungs.

"Demi... Please!" they heard Wilmer say.

"I'M SO ANGRY RIGHT NOW! LEAVE ME ALONE!"

Then the door opened and they saw Demi running to the bathroom.

—Oh my God, Evelyn! Jake was right! Demi is very angry because of my horrible performance!!!! —she said crying and hugging her friend.

Wilmer went back to Demi's classroom and he forced the children to sleep, but Evelyn and Allyson planned to stay awake until Demi'd come back to the class. They were almost asleep when the door opened and she got in. She closed the door and walked straight to her sleeping-bag.

—Evelyn, now! —Allyson whispered to her.

At that moment, both of them stood up and crawled to Demi's sleeping-bag.

—Miss Demi! Miss Demi! —Evelyn called her quietly.

—What are you doing here? —Demi said, looking at them—. Weren't you asleep? —she fake smiled, trying to conceal her irritation.

—We know you've been crying... And Jake told me I did a horrible performance at the Christmas show... so, I know that was the reason why you cried—Allyson explained sadly.

Demi looked at them and chuckled.

—That's a huge lie Ally! You did it perfectly! —She said while stroking her hair.

—So you are not mad at me?

—Why should I be? I can't be mad at my favorite little girls! —Demi replied tickling them.

Evelyn and Allyson couldn't help but laugh.

—Can we sleep with you Miss Demi? —Evelyn asked with a puppy face.

—Come on! Get into my sleeping-bag! —she replied, smiling and opening the zipper on it.

Allyson and Evelyn lay down and hugged Demi. So that night, the three of them were actually what they needed, just someone to hold and to feel secure with.
