After a week of pushing herself through the pain of having another woman disappear on her without a word Athena was up late due to her not being able to sleep. She stood in the kitchen making a pot of tea while Maverick and Sage lay at her feet. The kitchen was silent except for the sound of hot water being poured into a mug. First it had been Carol who left her for space, now Lucy who got transferred to London. As Athena sipped her tea she heard footsteps coming down the hallway towards the kitchen.

Flicking her eyes up she saw her mom walking her way. "Hey sweetheart, can't sleep?"  Athena shook her head no as she sat the mug down. "No." Natasha nodded siting down opposite her. "It's gonna be ok, you know that right? You'll get over Lucy,  just like you did Carol." Athena nodded. "Yea I know." "Good, now make me some tea and we can talk some more." Natasha added. Athena rolled her eyes but made her mom a cup of tea anyways and slid the mug over to her. "Do you know if we're getting any more new recruits?" Athena asked.

Natasha shook her head. "I don't know, but if we do I'll make sure they stay away from you." Athena nodded. "Yea, that's probably for the best." Maverick and Sage huffed in agreement. "Even your dogs agree." Natasha teased. "Yea, they do." Athena replied laughing. After their tea was gone the two Romanoff's and Athena's dogs headed back down to their rooms. "Good night sweetheart." Natasha said softly. "Goodnight mama." Athena replied with a smile before she dipped into her bedroom, her dogs trailing behind her.

Athena lay on her bed looking at her ceiling wondering what to do now that she was newly single again. "Maybe I'll just take a break from dating. Sound good to you Mav? Sage?" Athena asked. The dogs huffed in agreement. "Noted." Athena said as she rolled over in bed and closed her eyes.
