Chapter 2

Veronica POV

My friends dragged me to a shithole they call home, the bar. I loved drinking don't get me wrong, I just didn't always like the locations. The sunset strip was a sketchy place to me, and it seemed like a lot of pervs would be hanging around every ally way we passed. The thought almost shocked my nerves. But that's besides the point. I had always had a need to be rebellious. It was in my blood. So, in order to fuel that hunger, I ran away from home at the age of 15, and never looked back. I haven't seen my parents in 7 years. I cut off all communications. And some how, I ended up with these crackheads. We walked inside the bar, and I didn't expect any more than to be bored and get drunk the whole time. I was wrong.

The girls found a band to hang out with and completely ditched me. Nothing new. I sat at the bar and ordered a jack and a shot of whiskey. "I see your having a good time." I heard a voice say. I turned around to find the one and only, Mick Mars. I was a bit shocked, but didn't think much of it. 

He took the seat beside me and created small talk. He really did prove me wrong. He's not like his band mates. I guess sex isn't everything to him. He bought me another shot of whiskey. We talked for hours, and we had a lot in common. Sometimes you just have to go to the right places at the right time even when you think it's a bad idea to find friends. Well, in my case, better friends. 

"Veronica, let's go!" Shelly said to me. She was the only sane one in the friend group besides me. "Nah, I think I'll walk home. I'm for once having a good time." I said back. "Alright babe. Have fun!" She said as she blew me a kiss. I waved back and then turned my attention to Mick. 

I studied him for a while. He really was handsome. Raven hair, pale skin, perfectly kisssable lips, beautiful blue eyes, he was the definition of tall, dark and handsome. I didn't know if it was the alcohol talking or if it truly was me, but I think I know what love at first sight is. I know it sounds cheesy, but I finally feel love. True, genuine, perfect love. "What are you staring at, love?" He asked. My heart skipped a beat when he called me love. It took me a moment to find my voice. "I- It's nothing." I said as I turned away. "Hey, It's okay. Just look at me." He said calmly. His fingers brushed over my cheeks before gently forcing me to look at him. I looked in his eyes and brought a hand up to his cheek. "You're very beautiful, you know that?" He said so quietly that if I wasn't sitting so close to him, I would've missed it. 

I smiled and nuzzled my cheek into his hand. After a few minutes, his face fell. "What's wrong?" I asked. "Nothing." He said, his hand still caressing my cheek. "It's alright, you can tell me." I told him. He took in a long and shaky breath. "I recently got into a divorce with my ex wife and I only came here for a one night stand, but I can't do that to you and I won't. I'm not gonna hurt someone who's allowed me to have a good time in months." He told me. My heart shattered. I could give it to him though. I can give him the sex he's looking for so he can just drop me. A single tear streamed down my face. "It's okay. I'm just like all those other girls that you've slept with and then kicked them out on the street when your done with them. JUST SO YOU CAN GET THAT FUCKING SATISFACTION THAT EVERY GOD DAMN DIRTY MAN WHORE WANTS!!" I screamed. 

Hot tears streamed down my face as I pushed his hands off me and ran outside the door and attempted to run home. Mick grabbed my arm and stopped me. "I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have said anything." He told me. "It's not gonna change the fact that you use all these women and throw them out like they're a plastic fucking sex doll!" I said furiously. "You're right." He said quietly. He pulled me in for a hug but I pushed him away. I walked home with my hands in my pockets. 'I should've gone home with them.'  I said to myself.
