PART 76

Even Sky couldn't believe what he'd just witnessed. The imposter, Zkay, smirked, a cruel twist of his lips. "So, Dad was telling the truth. I have a twin brother."  A flicker of something – perhaps genuine surprise, perhaps malicious glee – crossed his features. "As far as I know, my twin brother is dead," Sky replied, his voice tight with disbelief and a deep well of suppressed emotion. Zkay's smirk widened. "Aren't you glad I'm still alive?" The words hung in the air, laced with a bitter irony that hinted at a complex history of rivalry and resentment. "Zkay," Sky said, his voice hard. "What are you doing here? Did Dad send you?"  He pointedly ignored Zkay's earlier question, the dismissal a clear indication of his anger and distrust. "Yeah, Dad sent me to see you," Zkay answered, his gaze lingering on Nani, a mixture of curiosity and something darker – perhaps envy – in his eyes. "I didn't know you had a protective side.  What's your relationship with him?"  The emphasis on "him" was pointed, laced with a venomous undercurrent. Sky's jaw tightened. "That's none of your business," he spat, the words barely controlled. Zkay chuckled, a low, unsettling sound. "Ha, Dad explained everything to me. You've really changed, little brother," he said, his voice dripping with a chilling mixture of disappointment and something akin to wounded pride. "And I don't like it one bit."  The final words were a low growl, a threat barely concealed beneath the surface of his casual tone.
