PART 74

After class, the group headed to the cafeteria for snacks. "Wait, I forgot my wallet in my bag," Nani said, realizing he'd left it in the classroom.

"Huh? I'll get it for you," Sky offered, but Nani shook his head.

"No, thanks. I'll get it myself," he replied. Sky nodded, understanding.

Nani hurried back to the classroom.  He rounded a corner and bumped into someone, sending the books in his arms scattering across the floor. "Oh! — Sorry!" he exclaimed, helping to gather the fallen books.  As he looked up, he rolled his eyes.  "Sky? It's you. I thought you were at the cafeteria getting a graham bar. Why are you here? Did you already grab my wallet?"

Nani was completely bewildered.  As far as he knew, Sky hadn't followed him.  Even more surprising, he seemed to have arrived before him.

Sky stared at him with an annoyed expression.  "What are you talking about?" he asked, his tone implying disbelief.
