PART 67

11:16, 23 February 2025

As they lay side-by-side on a blanket, watching the meteor shower paint streaks of light across the velvet night sky, Nani presented Sky with a small gift. It was a miniature red box, tied with a delicate white ribbon. "What is this?" Sky asked, his curiosity piqued.

"Just open it," Nani replied, a hint of a smile playing on his lips.

Sky, with a mixture of suspicion and anticipation, carefully untied the ribbon and lifted the lid.  Inside, nestled on a bed of soft velvet, was a simple, yet elegant red thread bracelet.  His expression softened immediately. "Oh, aww," he murmured, his voice filled with a warmth that mirrored the glow of the falling stars. "How... when did you become so sweet?"  He reached up to playfully ruffle Nani's hair, but Nani gently swatted his hand away, his cheeks flushed crimson.

"Stop it," Nani mumbled, his voice barely a whisper.

Sky chuckled. "You know, I used to think you were such a bad boy, but now you're like a lovesick kitten."  He laughed at his own joke, the sound light and carefree. Nani rolled his eyes, but a secret thrill coursed through him.

"Oh really, doggy?" Nani teased, mimicking Sky's playful tone.

"Shut up," Sky retorted, though his smile betrayed his amusement.

Nani laughed, the sound echoing softly in the night.

Suddenly, Sky pointed excitedly towards the sky. "Oh look! There's a meteor! Let's make a wish! Hurry!"

"Okay!" Nani replied. As Nani closed his eyes, a silent wish forming on his lips, Sky gazed at him, a tender smile gracing his features.

"I wish that we'll be together forever," Sky whispered, his voice barely audible above the soft murmur of the night.
