The Question

**A/N: I had so much fun writing this chapter. I hope you enjoy it!**

Tyler's POV

"And the winner for Favorite Alternative Rock Artist goes to..."

"...Twenty One Pilots!" 

Josh and I looked at each other as our band name got announced at the American Music Awards. We smiled and hugged each other as we went up to get our award. I gave Josh the honor to hold the award as I gave the acceptance speech.

[ICONIC]

We thanks our fans especially for this award because without them, we wouldn't have gotten this far. 

Later in the show, we ended up also winning another award. This time it was for "Favorite Pop/Rock Group". 

Again Josh and I got up and went to get our award. I think Josh was really surprised that we had won not one but TWO awards that night. 

[Josh looks so shook and honestly me too]

Josh had the honor of holding up the award again. He seemed a little nervous onstage and I was too but this was a very big moment for us both. Everything we've done in last few years, all our success and music have led up to this. 

As we went backstage, I held Josh's hand and whispered in his ear. 

"Thank you for everything."

He smiled. "No, thank you for believing in yourself."

Our Emotional Roadshow proved to be loads of sick fun. We toured the States and with each tour the energy was stronger and livelier.

It was soon announced that Josh and I were be nominated for three Grammy awards! 

We have never been nominated for a Grammy before, much less for THREE. We were nominated for "Best Rock Performance" for Heathens and "Best Pop Duo/Group Performance" / "Record of the Year" for Stressed Out. 

Josh and I came in suits and I kept giggling at the awards. Out of everyone there, Josh was the main one who stood out in the crowd with his yellow hair. I told him that he looked like a highlighter. He joked and said I looked like an egg with my hair. I joked back and told him that he was the yolk to my egg. We kept cracking jokes all night long. 

[I'm dropping hints that I'm shook.]

Out of everyone there, I had the luckiest boy in the room.

We sat about three rows behind Beyonce and Jay Z who had their daughter Blue Ivy there as well. To think that we were among really great artists was just giving me a nervous feeling. But that nervous feeling was good. I had Josh there. We had nothing to worry about. 

"...The Grammy award for Best Pop Duo/ Group Performance goes to..."

"...Twenty One Pilots!"

Josh was the first to turn to me and we both got up. However we didn't immediately go to the stage to accept our award. We proceeded to take off our pants and go onstage in our underwear. 

We received some laughs and strange looks from the audience but I knew what I was going to stay in our acceptance speech.

We got onstage and accepted our first-ever Grammy. Josh was very nervous but I looked at him with that "everything's gonna be okay" look. I spoke into the microphone and gave the acceptance speech.

[Here's the actual transcript of what Tyler said at the Grammys:]

The story, it starts in Columbus, Ohio, and it is a few years ago, and it was before Josh and I were able to make money playing music. And I called him up, and I said, "Hey, Josh, you want to come over to my rental house and watch the Grammys?" And he said, "Yeah, who is hanging there?" And I said, "A couple my roommates coming to watch the Grammys with us." 

And as we were watching, we noticed every single one of us was in our underwear. And seriously, Josh turned to me — and we were no one at that time — and he said, "If we ever go to the Grammy, if we ever win a Grammy, we should receive it just like this."

So, not only is this amazing, but I want everyone who is watching at home to know that you could be next. So watch out, okay. Because anyone from anywhere can do anything. And this is that.

"Thank you." I waved to the audience as they cheered for us and I motioned for Josh to follow me backstage.

When we got backstage I made sure no one was around and once it was clear, I grabbed Josh and kissed him. 

He kissed me back passionately. His lips were soft and I let go first because I started to laugh and cry.

"I just...I can't believe it dude. Our first Grammy." 

He looked into my eyes. "We did it buddy." 

Although we didn't win our other two nominations, we still won our first award from the Grammy ever. Truly a very special moment for us and our fans who we loved dearly.

It would be two days later that it was Valentine's Day.

We had a show that night but a couple of hours before the show, Josh took me to a nearby Taco Bell. 

We sat in the little booth looking out the window. I saw Josh staring at me.

"What?" 

He grinned. "Do you like this date of mine?" 

"Oh so it's a date, huh? For Valentine's Day?" 

He nodded. "Mhmm. I figured I take my baby boy to the one place he loved to eat from. Taco Bell! I mean, you love Taco Bell, right?"

I giggled. "Of course I do Josh! Yo quiero Taco Bell!" 

"Yo te quiero mucho más Tyler." Josh told me in Spanish. 

I laughed at his cute little accent. "Josh is this all you had planned for me today for Valentine's Day? I mean I have something planned for you during our show tonight." 

Josh puckered his lips. "Mmm...I think we'll have to find out what else I have in store. But I can't wait to see your surprise. I'll love it either way." 

"I know you will Josh. It's sort of cliche but I thought it would be cute." 

Josh giggled. "Oh Tyler. I can't wait for you to see my surprise." 

"I can't wait."

The show went on as normal as I kept thinking about Josh in my head. He looked really happy and anxious though. I understood the happy part but I didn't know why he looked anxious. Perhaps it was because I made him nervous with my surprise that I had for him. 

At the end of a song. I took a pause and walked into the audience. Someone was already standing in there holding a bouquet of white roses. I bent down and took one from them. I walked back on stage and motioned for Josh to come over. 

Josh came over and I looked at him. "So Josh, would you like to be my forever?" I got down on one knee and giggled as I pretended to propose with a rose.

[ANOTHER ICONIC MOMENT AND PICTURE] 

Josh blushed and took the rose from my hand.

He nodded. 

I looked back into the multitude of fans in awe. 

"Guys, he said yes." 

Everyone clapped and cheered as Josh put the rose behind his ear and kept it there for the rest of the concert. 

At the end of Trees, Josh and I were about to take a bow as we usually did. But he stopped me. He asked for a microphone. He wasn't one to usually talk during shows due to his anxiety but if he was going to talk, it was important.

He tapped the microphone a bit. "Uh hello is this thing on? Yes, testing, one two."

The audience laughed.

Josh continued to speak. "Ha ha, okay it works. Sick. Now uh, hey everyone. My name is Josh and I'm the drummer from Twenty One Pilots."

There was applause.

"I'm also a boy from Columbus, Ohio who fell in love with the singer for Twenty One Pilots. That's this guy right here, Tyler Joseph." He pointed at me and everyone cheered. I kept quiet and smiled.

"Now, uh, Tyler and I have been dating for so long now like wow that's really sick dude. Uh, you know, Tyler's a really great person. Him and I have been through a lot in our lives. If it wasn't for both of us counting on each other, we wouldn't be here right now."

I nodded. 

"Tyler is uh, a really amazing boyfriend. Possibly the luckiest boy in this arena right now honestly. But enough about me boasting about the most beautiful boy in the world. I wanna take this next moment to speak directly to Tyler in front of everyone."

He turned to me.

"Ty, I love you a lot. I mean you know that obviously. Uh, you have become the light in my life and I think I've become the light in your life too. We've been by each other's sides for so long that I think we can't ever leave each other now. We care for one another too much. That's a good thing. Our relationship has been very healthy and gosh, I love you so fricking much."

I giggled. "I love you too Josh."

He chuckled. "Now today is Valentine's Day and this is my surprise for you. I know it's cliche to do it today but I've been planning it for so long now. I think it's about time. Look, I love you and I want you to be mine forever. I want you to be my forever Tyler. You're the tear in my heart too. So from the bottom of my heart..." 

He started pulling something out of shorts pocket. It appeared to be a small box of some sorts.

I knew what was happening.

Josh got down on one knee, just like I had earlier in the show, and opened the little box in his hand to reveal a beautiful shiny ring inside of it.

"This is a crazy question but Tyler Joseph, I love you my dear. Will you be more than my boyfriend? I guess what I'm trying to say, will you marry me?" 

I cupped my hands to my mouth as tears fell down my cheek. I just couldn't believe that Josh just did that in front of all these wonderful people. I was shaking.

I nodded as I kept my hands on my mouth still in shock. Josh smiled and he took my hand, kissed it, and placed the ring on my ring finger.

He looked back at the audience. "Guys, he said yes." 

There was large awwing and lots of applause and cheers.

I kissed him there on stage and he kissed back tighter. I looked at him and hugged him tighter than ever holding the hand that my ring was on up high. 

[I'm crying]

Josh and I looked back to the crowd, looked at each other and then took a bow as some fans threw roses at our feet. 

I had officially become the most happiest boy on the planet at that very moment. It was all because of Josh.

After the show, Josh and I were backstage in our dressing rooms. I sat down looking in the mirror. I looked down at my hand and there was the ring Josh put there. 

I rubbed the ring passionately. I smiled so big. 

I looked back in the mirror and looked at myself.

For the first time, I saw something I hadn't seen before about myself.

I saw a happy boy who for once didn't want to die or kill himself.

And why was that?

The same reason for my happiness that's been leading up to this moment.

It was all because of my fiancé: Joshua Dun.
