03:09, 12 March 2017Tyler's POV
Josh woke up a little after seven in the morning as I continued driving. He rubbed his eyes and looked out the window. He covered his eyes when he realized the sun was shining directly on him.
"Good morning my little ray of sunshine." I told him merrily.
He giggled. "Good morning baby boy." He kissed my cheek. "Are we almost there yet?"
I nodded. "Yep. We should be there in about ten minutes."
Josh sighed.
"Josh there's nothing to afraid of anymore. I'm here now. No one is going to hurt you again, I promise." I reassured him.
"How can you be so sure Tyler?" he looked at me worryingly.
I took one hand off the steering wheel and pointed to the back seat. "You may have forgotten about the memory gun that I used against the guards at the prison."
He looked behind the seat and then back at me. "You don't suppose that you're going to use that gun on everyone in the town right?"
"Yes Josh, I do suppose that." I chuckled.
"But you do realize that it would take forever to erase everyone's mind? That would take so long..." his voice trailed off.
I held his hand. "I have a good plan."
"What's your plan Tyler?" Josh asked.
"Well you remember how in the prison, you hooked up the memory gun to the system and made it produce a loud frequency that erased everyone's mind there? Well, we can sneak into the local radio station, hook the gun up to the radio tower and make it produce a frequency to erase everyone's minds around the radius of the tower and as well as everyone tuning in to the station!" I told him.
He just stared at me in awe. "You know, I fell in love with you and everyday I just seem to find something about you that makes me fall in love with you more and more. You're pretty smart Ty."
I gave him a smirk. "And you're pretty."
"Pretty what?"
"That's it. Pretty. That was the end of the sentence." I giggled.
Josh blushed. "Ah youuu."
//////////////////////////////
We arrived to our hometown within ten minutes.
Josh had to hide his face as we passed by our childhood streets. I drove to the local radio station on a nearby hill. I could see the radio tower in the distance.
As we pulled into the parking lot, I got out of the car and opened the door for Josh. He got out and we stared at the radio tower.
"Do you really think this will work?" Josh asked.
I held him close. "I'm sure."
///////////////////////////////
Josh helped by getting us both through the fence easily using his alien powers and whatnot. He also found out that he could cloak himself and turn invisible as well as me but only if he held me.
We managed to sneak around some guards and other personnel. Eventually we got to the main room and went inside, locking the door behind us.
I grabbed the gun under my sweater and entered the date when everything went down: December 24th, 2018.
I turned to Josh. "Are you ready?"
"Yes. I'm ready Tyler."
I gave him the gun and he plugged it into the machine.
"Okay Tyler, get down and cover your ears!"
I ducked down and covered my ears as he pressed a button. He also covered his ears as a loud piercing screech was let out on the radio as it emitted from the radio tower.
When it was over, we got back up. "Wait let me do it one more time." I told him.
I got the gun and entered the date of my court trial. "Let's also make sure this never happened." I pressed a button and again we covered our ears.
In a matter of seconds, everyone had forgotten that Josh was taken away, that he was an alien and everyone also forgot about my incident with the court.
We got up with tears in our eyes. I hugged him tightly and he hugged back tighter.
Josh and I were both off the hook now. We could finally get back and re-live our lives in peace.
------------------------------------
"Hey Tyler, nice to see you!"
"Looking good Joshua, as always!"
"Aw you two are such a great couple!"
People kept saying hi to us as we walked on the street together. Everyone really did forget about all the bad things that happened in this town in the last ten years. Josh and I could finally be safe out together without worrying about a single thing.
After coming back to my house, I told my parents I had gone out and taken a rather long walk but they shrugged it off and they even welcomed Josh inside.
Josh smiled as he hugged my mom and shook my dad's hand. This time, he didn't shock him with his powers like he did the last time.
After a nice dinner, I told my parents that I would be walking Josh home. They said alright and we waved goodbye.
Josh was waiting on the sidewalk as I exited my house. I walked up to him.
"You ready?" I asked him.
"As ready as I'll ever be."
I held his hand as we walked to his house in the crisp January night.
After about a ten minute walk, we approached the familiar house which had been abandoned for ten years. I stopped at the end of the sidewalk but Josh slowly walked up to his house. He put his hand on the wooden rail.
"I'm...home." he said softly.
I smiled gently as I walked slowly behind him.
"Come on, let's go inside."
He got to the door and put his hand on the doorknob. He closed his eyes and a few seconds later there was a soft click.
He slowly turned the doorknob and opened the door.
The door creaked open and revealed the inside of the house. There was plastic sheets covering all the furniture in the house. The house smelled empty of life as we walked in. I shut the door behind me gently.
Josh stared around the dark house.
"Hold on." he said as he went to the kitchen. On the wall, there was the fuse box. He opened it and put his hands on the levers and circuits. Within a few seconds, the lights in the house turned on.
"Much better." he let out a slight chuckle.
He looked around and saw the same books his mom used to read to his as a child. The same couch from the day I came over and did homework on. The same stairs he would run up and down from on a daily basis. The same table he would eat his pizza on. The same hallway on which he would draw on the walls with crayons on as a little kid.
He walked to the stairs and slowly walked up. I followed behind him as we made our way to the top floor. Once we reached the top floor, Josh looked down at the end of the hallway as he saw the same wooden door he went in everyday. His room.
He approached the door but was hesitant to open it.
I put my hand on his back. "Don't be afraid. You're home now. Open the door."
He took a deep breath and opened the door.
The door swung open as his room came into view. Everything was where he had left it ten years ago. It seems like no one touched his room in that time-being.
He walked in and looked around. All the pictures and poster hung on the wall. His trumpet on the nearby table. His old laptop on the desk. In the corner of his room, a very heart-warming sight.
His drums.
He touched his bass-drum. "Hello old friend. It's been so long."
He teared up a little.
"Hey," I said and he turned around as his eyes widened. "I think you'll be needing these to play them."
I held his red drumsticks in my hand as he reached out to take them.
"My..my drumsticks?"
"Yep. I've kept them with me all this time after you left. I figured you would've wanted someone to take care of them while you were gone. So I kept them and always carried them around with me because they reminded me of you. They kept me...happy. Happy because I remember how happy you were when you played the drums. I guess these sticks passed on the happiness to me in that time but now you're back. I believe you should take them back now." I told him.
He cried. "Oh Tyler!" His leaned in quickly and put his lips onto mine. It was a long passionate kiss.
He was the first to pull away and he stared into my eyes.
"Well?" I told him. "Aren't you going to play them?"
Josh blinked a couple of times. "OH, oh yes. Oh gosh, it's been so long."
He got behind his drums and sat in the little stool. He started banging on the crash cymbals and drums. His face lit up as he got back into the beat and rhythm.
I watched happily as he played the drums for me.
He was laughing and chuckling as he played but then he stopped.
He didn't say a word as the sound of the cymbal echoed through the room. He looked up at me and then back at the drums and back at me.
"Tyler,"
"Yes Josh?"
"I know that you know I really love drumming and that I'm finally playing them here in my house after so long."
"Yes Josh, I know you love your drums." I giggled.
"Well, I might be here and all but this is going to sound crazy but..."
There was silence.
Josh spoke up. "My mom always told me that home is where the heart is at. But I know that I'm finally home but my heart isn't here in my house anymore."
He got up and walked over to me putting his hands on my waist.
"Home is with you Tyler. I don't want to stay here. Sure this is my home but look at it. I can't maintain it on my own and I'm just surrounded by old sad memories. Home is you now Tyler. You are my home."
I teared up. "Aww Josh, you are my home too." I kissed his forehead.
He smiled. "Ty, do you remember us wanting to form a band?"
My eyes lit up. "Yes, I remember that."
"Let's do it."
My heart skipped a beat or two. This was so sudden. "But wait, us forming a band? That's crazy Josh!"
"It might be crazy but it's a pretty sick idea. I believe in us. I know we'll make it far Tyler." He walked over to his desk sliding some books and sitting in the chair. "Don't you wanna get out of here and tour the country- the world even- one day as you sing songs to crowds and I play my drums for them? Wouldn't that be amazing?"
I was hesitant. "That sounds great Josh but what would my songs even be about?"
Josh snapped his fingers. "I know. They can be about me Tyler!"
I giggled. "Josh, they can't ALL be about you silly."
"What about your insecurities? How you beat Blurryface and how by facing him, it made you stronger than what you once were. You've made songs before about that. What's so different about it now?"
I thought a bit. Josh did have a good idea. Blurryface had tormented me for so long that it didn't seem like a bad idea to make songs about my fears and how he pulled me down. I could also makes songs about Josh and how he's special to me.
"That sounds like a great idea Josh but where ever would we even start?" I asked.
"We could start out in small venues. Hopefully people will find us good and start talking about us to their friends. Bands always start out small. But I know we will make it far. I believe in us. I believe in you, my love." he told me.
I blushed. "Oh, but what about our band name?"
Josh turned around in his chair. "I didn't think about that. Darn."
He sat there flipping pages through his history book, thinking to himself.
I didn't exactly know of a good name for our band. This whole idea sounded like it would be fun but coming up with the band's name seemed harder.
I turned back to Josh as he stopped flipping through pages and pointed his finger to a section in the book.
"What is it Josh?" I walked over to see what he was pointing at.
He looked up at me.
"I think I just found the perfect name for our band Tyler."
Hello! This was a bittersweet chapter but the next chapter will be the boys forming the band and getting started and stuff. I'm excited for these next few chapters to be honest. I'm also on spring break so expect me to update maybe every two days this week. There's only four chapters left! I hope you enjoyed and leave a vote and some comments please (-:
