VIII: A Gut Feeling
23:35, 22 June 2020After the Calamity
(Flash forward to having defeated Fireblight Ganon)
Link dropped to his knees in exhaustion. He had recovered a memory of the Champion, maybe even his friend, Daruk.
After freeing Vah Rudania, Link slowly trudged back into Goron City. He walked to the inn where he payed for a soft bed.
"How long would you like to sleep for?" The Goron Innkeeper asked gently.
Link pointed at 8 p.m. on a clock on the wall.
"Well, until evening it is then!" The Goron said cheerfully. "Please, enjoy your stay."
Link walked over to his bed and lied down to rest. His mind was racing from his strange gut feeling about Zelda to freeing the divine beast. It all seemed so sudden to him. His thoughts dissolved slowly, and he drifted off to sleep.
♦
The Innkeeper woke Link up with a gentle nudge. Link sat up and watched the goron walk away through heavy eyelids. He rubbed his eyes and stretched his sore arms. He had a strange feeling of a place he needed to go- of a place he had recovered a memory of him and Zelda.
Link stood up and grabbed his gear. As he left the inn, he nodded and the Goron and slung his sword over his back. He walked down the hill to the place Zelda had shown him long ago.
When he reached the hill, Link climbed up as his gear clanked behind him. It was growing darker by the minute, but he could still see. Upon reaching the top, Link looked out onto the beautiful land Zelda showed him 100 years ago. His stomach began to feel upset. Maybe he was hungry, or maybe this is why he thought something bad was about to happen...
"..."
"link."
"Link."
"Link." He heard Zelda's worried voice in his head. "Please, hurry. I can't hold Ganon for long. Hyrule needs you... I need you."
All of a sudden, the ground started rumbling and he could see rocks falling from the ruins of Hyrule Castle. Things were falling apart... fast.
Link jumped off the cliff and pulled out his paraglider. He still had divine beasts to free, and he knew he had to do it quickly.
He was more determined after hearing Zelda's voice. He did not understand why.
