the journey to the rooftop, although short, felt like forever.

it was rather awkward, but you could tell jungkook was trying to lessen the tension by joking about some things that happened in the past.

gaining a little bit of confidence, you decided to ask him why he'd wanted to follow you up, since you know, he never does that.

"i wanted to, apologise, for always ditching you and leaving you behind. even if there weren't any feelings involved it was wrong for me to do it, especially when i consider you my best friend." he said as the both of you took a seat.

"and also, i wanted to thank you. i know i'm pretty hard to deal with." he continued as he started to mumble towards the end, but because of how close you guys were, you heard it clearly.

"you're not... hard to deal with." you reassured.

"i'll change. i promise."

and things went on pretty well after that.

the both of you started talking about past events, and you became more comfortable like how you were.

TIME SKIP; the next week

this whole week was much better, you felt more comfortable with him and things were going back to normal.

there really wasn't much mentioned about feelings or relationship, which made it easier for you.

it was just like old times.

"y/n!" you heard.

you turned around to see jungkook rushing towards you.

"let's go out for lunch later!" he suggested.

seeing how it's been forever since y'all had lunch together, you agreed.

since the both of you had different class, y'all parted ways and you walked towards your class.

"hi y/n."

you turned to the side as someone rushed to walk with you.

"hi dae won, it feels like forever since i last spoke to you."

"yea... it's been a while. but i do notice you getting along better with jungkook. things are going well aren't they?" he asked.

"mmhm, quite." you replied.

"care to fill me up on what's happened?"

"well.... i confessed to him. on accident, it just slipped because i was soooo pissed. and then later that night he just came to me and told me he'll try and figure his feelings out." you answered.

upon hearing what you said, dae won nodded.

"at least it's heading the right way i guess. the both of you will surely get together soon."

"i guess... what about you?" you asked.

"the same. except without the disturbing you part." dae won replied, chuckling.

though he was chuckling, you felt guilty for somehow rejecting him in a way, by falling for jungkook.

"i'm sorry..."

"why? it's your feelings. i'll get over it, plus..... i think i may have someone in mind. i don't know, it feels different with her." dae won said.

"really?! who is it?"

"hmm, get together with jungkook first then i'll tell you!" dae won replied as he swiftly walked away to avoid you asking more.

watching him, you smiled to yourself.

at least he's getting over me. you thought.

AFTER SCHOOL

it was finally, FINALLY, after school.

knowing you were heading out for lunch with jungkook, you quickly packed your bags and went out to the hallway to look for him.

leaning on on of the walls, you took out your phone to text him.

suddenly, you felt someone's hands rest on your head, and then turning your head to face him.

and that, made your heart stop. it was only on the head and yet you felt like you were having a heart attack.

"you scared me." you said, cheeks slightly red because you were blushing.

"really? i only touched your head." jungkook replied chuckling.

"okay whatever, let's goooo." you said, taking his hand away.

phew, if that continued on longer.... i wouldn't know how to act. you thought.

after eventually finding a place to eat, the both of you sat down, started ordering, yada yada, the usual stuff.

it was rather, quiet, for some reason.

maybe jungkook was just too focused on eating, you didn't know. but it just felt a little awkward.

after finishing your food, jungkook started acting wierd. like as if he was worried or something.

you looked up to him,

"you okay?" you asked.

"y-yea. uhm. i wanna give you something." he spoke as he grabbed his bag to take something out.

being curious, you tried peeking over to see what it was.

jungkook took out a small plastic bag with a ribbon tied on it and placed it on the table, before sliding it towards you.

"for you. thought it was cute."

raising your eyebrows, you were doubting it to be honest.

never has he ever gotten something like that for you.

you carefully took the bag and untied the ribbon to see what was inside.

a small box.

you took out the box and opened it.

immediately, your eyes enlarged.

"why'd you get this??" you asked.

"why not... it's pretty isn't it." jungkook replied with a proud smile.

"it is, but is it not expensive?"

"mmm, kinda. but don't worry about it, wear it."

you looked at the beautiful pendant that was looped onto a silver chain.

you'd never expect such a gift from him, you could only dream about it.

you carefully took the box and admired the shining pendant.

you slowly took it out and looked at jungkook, kind of seeking for an approval to wear it,

in which he raised his brows slightly, urging you to wear it.

you took a look at the pendant one last time before holding the ends and wrapping the necklace around your neck.

seeing you put on the necklace he bought, jungkook's smile got even bigger.

"it's so pretty on you!" he got excited.

"thank you." you whispered, shy because he's just now staring at you smiling.

it was like his body was trapped in that same position as he continued to stare at you, smiling.

feeling awkward because of your insecurities, you were glad the waitress trying to get past you had her hip slightly touch you due to the small space.

that caused the both of you to slightly turn towards the waitress.

"my apologies." she apologised and bowed.

"o-oh no, it's fine." you quickly spoke because you felt bad.

you took your attention off the waitress and looked back at jungkook.

"let's go. i wanna bring you somewhere." he said
