Chapter 25: An Error
08:15, 20 July 2022Months later, BTS had ended their tour and returned to home in Korea. Erica went back to London to finish her contract with Cirque Du Soleil and then promised to move to Korea to be with Taehyung since she could find another circus over there to work at. Other idols began to share who their soulmates were too and the k-pop community began to become more accepting of idols being in relationships and maybe starting families at some point. However, k-pop companies also increased their security measures to prevent sasaengs from finding them.
Upon their return, with the money she had been given as a backup dancer on tour, she looked for a place to move into on her own while Jimin figured out his last moves with BTS as a group. The members were discussing how they should continue as a group now that their soulmates were exposed. For the time being, nothing would change and they would continue as normal at least for the remainder of the year but they were planning on cutting back on how much work they would be doing when they decided to settle down and start families with their partners.
The night before Juliette moved out of the dorms (roughly one month after their return to Korea), Jimin knocked on her bedroom door to have a chat.
"Juliette, I am concerned about you moving out tomorrow," he shared with her.
"Jimin, I know you don't want me to move out but I have to do this to have some of my own space before we live together. Besides, it would be better if I didn't live with you guys now that I am known to be your soulmate. If someone follows me, at least it wouldn't lead them here to the dorms," she told him.
"Yeah I know but since we've been back...you've been acting weird and different."
"What do you mean? I feel totally normal."
"You've been a lot more tired, napping frequently, and eating more than usual."
"Are you calling me fat?!"
"No! Of course not! But it's just unlike you to eat as much as you have been. Is everything ok?"
"It's probably just jet lag from having been on tour. I'm sure it'll clear up in a few days."
"I've never heard of jet lag lasting longer than a week. None of us have ever experienced it longer than that at least."
"Everyone's bodies are different, get off my back will you?!" she told him, annoyed.
"Jesus, relax Juliette! Where's all this attitude from? God!"
"Attitude? You're the one getting all up in my business!"
"Because I am concerned about your health, you're not acting like your usual self!"
"Well maybe that's because I've been busy looking for a place, moving all my stuff, packing, and jet lag!"
"No need to yell at me! I'm trying to be a good soulmate!"
"You wanna be a good soulmate? Let me live in peace!"
"Fine, if that's how you want it."
Jimin walked out of her room and slammed the door behind him. In the hallway, Jin was standing nearby.
"Is everything ok Jimin?" he asked kindly, "It got pretty loud."
"I don't know what's gotten into her and I'm sorry we were loud."
"It's the move isn't it?"
"It's something else, I know it, but I'm not sure what it could be."
"Maybe it's jet lag."
"For this long? That's kind of odd."
"Go rest for the night and you two can talk it out in the morning when you both are rested and relaxed."
"That sounds like a good idea."
They both went into their respective rooms and called it a night.
In the morning, Juliette moved her boxes to the front door where the movers would pick up her remaining items from the dorm to her new apartment. Jimin helped her move some boxes now that the odd tension from the previous night was gone. When they waited for the movers, Juliette and Jimin sat down in the living room to have their last moments together in the dorm before she left.
"Wow, I can't believe I've been here for six months," Juliette said.
"And to think you were me for half of the time you were here," Jimin reminisced.
They both let out a chuckle.
"I will miss this place, lots of good memories."
"You're welcome back anytime, I'm sure none of the others would mind."
Speaking of the others, they approached the living room to say their "See you laters" to Juliette since she wouldn't be moving too far to begin with. They each thanked her for her hard work both on tour and while impersonating Jimin. She thanked them for the memories and shared that they could visit her any time they wanted to.
The movers arrived shortly after and they began to load the last boxes into the truck with Juliette's help. When she picked up the last box and was on her way out, she lost her balance momentarily and dropped the box of items. Jimin quickly ran to her side.
"Are you ok?" he asked her, concerned.
"Yeah, I'm just tired from the jet lag. I'm ok now though," she reassured him.
"I don't think you should drive like this. Let me drive you."
"No, I swear I'm fi..."
Her words trailed off as she fainted and fell backwards but Jimin caught her before hitting the floor. The other members noticed her fall and they ran to see what had happened.
"Call 112 (the equivalent of 911 in America)!" Jimin yelled at them.
Namjoon was way ahead of the situation and already had the ambulance on the line. They arrived quickly and took Juliette along with Jimin in the ambulance to the nearest hospital. As much as all the members wanted to join them, they were afraid it would attract too much attention and stayed behind to wait for news from Jimin.
A couple hours later, Juliette was stabilized and her vitals were normal. They took some blood tests and a urine sample to make sure she wasn't deficient in any vitamins that may have caused her to faint. Jimin was let into her room when they finished with that. She smiled at him as he entered.
"Oh, you came in the ambulance?" she asked him.
"Of course I came in the ambulance! I was so worried! How do you feel?"
"I'm back to normal. It was just the jet lag."
"I'm going to get the doctor. I know they ran some tests on you."
Jimin went to fetch the doctor who shortly after came into the room to explain what was going on with Juliette.
"It was just my jet lag, right Dr. Lee? Jimin over here is freaking out over nothing," Juliette said.
"Normally we run all kinds of tests to find out the problem but we only needed one to find out what happened," Dr. Lee explained.
"You guys have a jet lag test?"
Dr. Lee chuckled.
"That is not something testable."
"Oh no! You're gonna die!" Jimin exclaimed.
"She's not going to die," Dr. Lee said, trying to not laugh, "She's just pregnant!"
There was silence in the room. Jimin and Juliette looked at one another and then busted out laughing hysterically.
"Yeah, good one doc!" Juliette said, "Both of my fallopian tubes are completely blocked. There's no way I'm pregnant."
"Hmm, well there could have been a false positive. We'll need another urine sample from you, we can't trust the previous one to be clean now that you mention that to me."
Juliette gave the doctor another urine sample and this time, Dr. Lee dipped the pregnancy test right in front of them.
"If it turns pink, you're pregnant. If it's blue, you're negative," Dr. Lee told them.
They anxiously stared at the pregnancy test and saw it fade from white to pink.
"No!" Juliette yelled, "I refuse to believe this! My doctor in France told me they were blocked. That's what causes my abdominal pains every now and then. I'm sure of it!"
"Have you had symptoms?"
"I have not. I have been totally normal."
"That is not true!" Jimin objected, "Doc, she has been very tired, napping frequently, eating a lot more, and losing her temper very easily which is so unlike her."
"Hmm, that sounds like pregnancy symptoms. Is your period late?"
Juliette shook her head no.
"In that case, we can do an ultrasound if you'd like, that can never be wrong."
"Yes please! Let's do that!" Juliette said, "You're gonna see it's just jet lag."
Dr. Lee transferred Juliette to the ultrasound room, applied the cream to her uterus, and put the machine on her. She began examining the uterus for a while in silence.
"See? She can't find anything. I'm not pregnant," Juliette said after a couple minutes.
"You don't have a bump so the baby would be very small but I'm trying to locate your fallopian tubes and I just found one. Indeed, this one is blocked."
"Ha! Told you so!" Juliette said to Jimin.
"You have two tubes Juliette, let the doctor finish," Jimin said.
"Here is your other fallopian tube and this one is...not blocked at all. I don't know what kind of doctor you had in France but they misdiagnosed you. Your occasional abdominal pains would be from just the other side," Dr. Lee informed them.
"So...am I pregnant?" Juliette asked, a lot calmer now.
"Let me have a look at your womb."
She moved the machine down to her womb and pointed to the screen.
"This is your womb and here is an amniotic sack. Congratulations, you're pregnant!"
