Chapter 18: No More Lies

"Let me go talk to her Mr. Bang," Juliette said.

"You better," he replied.

Juliette walked out and Jimin followed but she stopped him.

"I need to talk alone with her, ok? I brought her into this mess so I should be the one to fix it somehow."

"Ok," Jimin replied, "I will wait over here. I don't wanna be in the office with an angry Mr. Bang."

Juliette quickly caught up to Valerie who was waiting for the elevator to go down.

"What do you think you're doing Val?" Juliette asked.

"I'm leaving! Can't you see that?" Valerie yelled at her.

The elevator door opened and two of the TxT members were in there, Huening Kai and Soobin. Juliette stood in front of the door to keep Valerie from going in.

"Woah isn't that Venus?" Soobin commented.

"Don't call me that!" Valerie screamed at them.

"Let's get out of here!" Huening Kai said as he repeatedly pressed the "close door" button in the elevator.

"You can't let HYBE sue you," Juliette continued.

"Does it look like I give a f*ck? They can come at me with whatever they want to. I'm not scared of them."

"Well you're not, but I think your wallet might be. You don't know how much they will sue you for! We don't have that kind of money!"

"I would rather be poor and on the streets than put up with a lie with your soulmate to be an idol WHEN IT WASN'T EVEN MY DREAM TO BEGIN WITH!"

"But you accepted, for Sacha."

"I accepted for you."

Juliette looked at Valerie in shock trying to process what she just heard.

"For me? Why would you do that?"

"I knew that if I didn't accept, Mr. Bang would pressure you to join and you would've done it because you're a nice person and don't like letting people down. Then he would've exposed you and Jimin as soulmates. I thought that if I accepted, that would be over and now it made everything worse."

"Val, you didn't have to do that for me."

"I don't care if he sues me, I don't care if I go broke, I don't care if Sacha gets mad, I don't care about anything except you being protected."

"But in the office, you said you were going to reveal the truth. That exposes me."

"I meant I'm going to reveal that I'm not Jimin's soulmate, I wasn't going to say you are."

Juliette suddenly hugged Valerie and she reciprocated. They had a sweet embrace for several seconds. Juliette's gratitude was expressed through it and Valerie felt it. Jimin walked up to them and patted Juliette's back. They pulled away from each other and turned to face him.

"Were you snooping?" Juliette asked him.

"Yes, I was and because of it, I have decided that I will cover the expenses of the lawsuit," he replied.

"Why would you do that? It's not your obligation," Valerie said.

"It kind of is. I forced Juliette to switch talents with me permanently which means she had to go through all that work as my substitute which made Mr. Bang want her to become an idol. She then said no which made her bring Sacha and made Mr. Bang force you to switch, signed you, and now we're here. If I hadn't kissed Juliette that time, we wouldn't be in this situation. I'm responsible for all this, I should handle it."

"Jimin, I don't blame you for this at all," Juliette replied.

"With all due respect, I do," Valerie commented.

"Valerie!" Juliette reprimanded her, "She doesn't mean that Jimin."

"No, I do," Valerie added.

"It's ok Juliette, I blame myself too. I take no offense," Jimin replied calmly.

"I don't blame you but I think we should accept your financial support...even though I feel bad," Juliette relayed to them.

"I accept it too," Valerie jumped in, "Because I was willing to go broke but if I don't have to do that anymore, I will take it."

"First things first then," Jimin said, "We have to reveal the truth."

"What about Mr. Bang? He thinks I'm coming back with both of you," Juliette reminded Jimin.

"I am never going back into that office!" Valerie said and then stormed off to go down the stairs.

Juliette and Jimin followed her leaving Mr. Bang to wonder what happened outside his office.

Hours later, Venus was going to reveal the truth about Jimin and her not being soulmates but wasn't sure how to do it.

"We both need to sit down and make a video about it," Jimin suggested, "If I back you up, people are more likely to believe you."

"I think it should be posted on Venus' Twitter," Juliette added

"That would make it a direct reach to her audience. Good idea," Jimin praised her.

Valerie went to her Twitter app and had been logged out but she wasn't phased as the app did that sometimes so she tried logging in again. Regardless of how many times she tried though, it kept saying she had the wrong password and couldn't change it since it was under the company's email.

"It won't let me log in and I'm sure this is the password that Mr. Bang gave me," Valerie informed them.

"He probably locked you out of the account since you want to expose the truth," Jimin thought.

"So what now?"

"We could post it on BTS' Twitter account. I have access to that."

Suddenly, J-Hope walked into the living room looking down at his phone confused.

"I can't access our Twitter, do you know why? I wanted to post a selfie for Army," J-Hope shared with them.

"Oh no, did he freeze our Twitter too?"

"Guys!" Jungkook yelled from his room, "Our Weverse login isn't working on my phone."

"Not the Weverse!" J-Hope exclaimed.

"None of our Instagrams work either," Taehyung added as he walked into the living room.

Every one of the members came in and realized none of their social media were accessible. All of their accounts had been blocked and they couldn't log in.

"What's going on?" Jin asked.

"Mr. Bang is suing me and I think he froze all of our social media so I can't expose the truth," Valerie explained.

"You know who's social media he hasn't frozen and would be willing to help and take a hit for us?" Namjoon asked them.

"Ji-Hoon!" Everyone said in unison.

After several minutes of waiting for him to head over, upon arrival, they explained to him the situation and he was determined to help.

"Of course I'll help you expose the truth! I also feel responsible since I was the one who suggested noona to get signed. Feel free to use my social media," Ji-Hoon replied without hesitation.

"You're a lifesaver," Valerie replied, "How did you guys find this kid?"

"He was the first Jimin double, remember?" Juliette reminded her.

"I know that, but I mean like how did you find a kid so willing to help out whenever you need it?"

"Easy," Ji-Hoon responded, "Jimin is my bias and huge inspiration so when Namjoon hyung asked me to help out, I couldn't say no."

"You're a good kid," Namjoon said, "Sorry we always bug you with our issues now."

"I knew getting into a friendship with you guys wouldn't be a walk in the park and I'm all for it!"

"As sweet as this exchange is," Valerie interrupted, "Can we please get back to the problem at hand?"

All the members cleared out the couch in the living room and stood behind the camera so Valerie and Jimin could explain what was going on. She held back no details and said that after she signed, she wanted to get an audience on her own terms but HYBE went behind her back and exposed a lie. Jimin added that he wanted to keep his real soulmate a secret for her safety. Then they both apologized for the confusion and thanked them for their understanding. After that, they uploaded it to Ji-Hoon's account.
