Thirty nine

Friday.

School.

It was lunch time, and everyone sat at the tables.

"I think we should just throw something" Nate smirked. "You going to do a Carrie on them?" Harper asked. "Just something, paint, water, even slushes from the 7/11 up the road" Nate chuckled.

"Yeah, throw glitter over them. You've just been glitter bombed!" Austin joked, and Levi and Drew laughed. "Glitter bombed" Levi laughed, as he squinted his eyes a little. "Yeah, that would take forever for them to pick it out of their gelled hair" Scarlet giggled. "Fuck boy gelled hair" Harper giggled, shaking her head.

"Wannabes" Nate scoffed. "You really dont like them, huh?" Scarlet asked. "They won our competition, and rubbed it into our faces. They come to our mall to keep doing it too!" Nate frowned. "I'm up for the glitter!" Levi laughed, as he raised his arm. "Right, Riles" He smiled, turning to Riley.

She was sitting staring, and stirring her untouched food with one chin leaning onto her hand. "Hm?" She asked. Harper looked at her. "You okay hun?" She asked. "Mhm" Riley nodded sitting up. Levi frowned. "Not hungry?" He asked. "Cafeteria food? No." She told him, blunt before she stood up.

Levi turned following her with his eyes as she walked to a bin and dumped the food in before putting the tray on a trolley. He turned back and saw Harper staring at her too. "Everything okay?" She asked, practically demanding. "She's been quiet, since last night" He told her.

Riley walked back over, and grabbed her folder. "I'm heading to class" She told them before walking off. "Uh, Riley wait" Harper called, but she kept walking on. Everyone stopped and stared at each other. "What was that about?" Scarlet asked.

"I think she's stilled bummed about her dad" Harper nodded. Levi sighed. "What?" She then asked him. Levi looked up at her, then shook his head. "Nothing..." He wasnt sure if Riley told the girls, or anything about their kiss.

In fact, she didnt.

He thought the two of them were getting somewhere, and now she's clammed up. He felt bad, but he didnt know what to do or say. He didnt want to piss her off, or hurt her.

"I'm sure we can just talk to her" Harper nodded. "And say what?" Levi blurted out. "We're here for her" Harper told him. "Yeah, but her dad is threatening to ship her back to Wisconsin" He spoke. "Calm down, I know that" Harper frowned. "We can't all hang out normally, she freaks out! She squirms when I'm closer than five feet from her, she doesnt talk to me much, she can't hang out" He listed off.

He was beginning to get pissed of himself.

"Jeez, dude calm down man" Nate told him. "No, I wont! I hate it, I really want her to be cool and chill out but she cant because of the asshole she has as a dad! He cant even let her live her life, but he's going to take her back home." Levi slid his own tray away.

Austin and Drew stared at him, and the girls were quite took back.

"She can't have her phone at home, I'm under a different freakin name, I can't text her or call her. She's under house arrest practically 24/7!" He shook his head. "Levi!" Harper waved her hand in front of him. "Chill out!" She told him.

"I think this is getting more heated because...it's more than friends." Drew smiled. Levi stared back at all of them looking at him now. He sighed, and dropped his hands into his face. "You do like her!" Harper whispered and grinned.

"I can't do this right now" Levi stood up, grabbed his bag and walked off.

"He cant give up on her..." Scarlet told them.
