Monday, 21st.

"Arent you just a delight?" Riley spoke to herself as she stared into her empty locker.

She then put her new books into it, before sighing and shaking her head.

"Excuse me?" A voice asked her, turning around she saw two girls staring at her. "Yes?" Riley asked.

"Do you want my book? Lunch money?" She asked, quite cheeky. The girls frowned at each other before one shook her head.

"No, I'm Scarlett. I'm part of the student body...are you Riley? The new girl?" She asked. "Oh...you're the girl that was going to show me around?" Riley asked her. "Has someone else done it?" Scarlett asked, a little disappointed.

"No, I dont need it..." Riley nodded.

Silence.

Riley sighed. "Look I'm sorry...I'm stressed with moving, parents...a lot. Yeah, I'm Riley, nice to meet you" She then smiled holding out her hand.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Scarlett. This is my friend Harper" She introduced the blonde haired girl next to her. Scarlett had dark auburn hair. Riley shook her hand, before then shaking Harper's.

"So...is this school bearable?" She then joked. "Once you get used to it, its not that bad" Harper smiled. "Great, starting my last year at a new school in California..." Riley bit her lip. "Where are you from again?" Scarlett asked. "I'm from a small town in Wisconsin" She nodded.

"Oh thats nice" Harper smiled. "Yeah, when I say small town. I mean, small town. To me, this is huge" Riley told them. "Dont worry, we'll have you knowing your way around in no time." Scarlett grinned.

"Yeah, hang out with us at lunch" Harper tapped her arm. "Oh I dont want to ruin your...group" Riley declined. "Group? Its just us" Scarlett giggled. "Oh so you're not part of a cheer leading team ready to rip me to bits?" Riley joked making the girls laugh.

"No, no nothing like that. We're just...us" Scarlett nodded. "Yeah, we can tell your not part of cheer leading either which is cool" Harper smiled. "What classes do you have?" Scarlett then asked, and Riley gave her the spreadsheet she had printed out.

The girls scanned it, their expressions turning slightly shocked.

"AP English?" Harper looked at her. "Modern literature...Social studies, and US History?!" The girls stared at her. "What are you super girl?" Harper smiled. "Is that bad?" Riley asked confused. "Uh yeah, are you doing extra credit?" Scarlett asked.

"I picked AP English because I was in my highest back home...I figured this would be okay. My last level was easy. I passed well" Riley smiled. The girls stared at her.

"Woah..." Harper nodded. "So...I'm already a nerd here?" Riley joked. "No, not at all but...say goodbye to your social life" Scarlett gigged, giving her back the sheet. "I didnt have one back home. I hung out with friends after school, did homework so it was out the way" Riley nodded.

"Oh what did you do?" Harper smiled. "Skated around, skate park, ice cream...hung out" Riley told them. The girls looked at each other before back to Riley. "Ah...so no parties?" Harper asked. "Parties? Thats a thing here? I thought that was just movies..." Riley admitted.

"No. We have a few parties" Harper grinned. "No, we didnt go. I'm not a party person" Riley nodded. Harper gasped a little, as Scarlett smiled. "Ignore her" Scarlett told Riley.

"Yeah well...I better get to maths. Sadly" Riley nodded. "Do you know where the lunch hall is?" Scarlett asked. "Yeah I think I passed that this morning" Riley nodded. "Great, we'll get you there at lunch okay?" The girls smiled.

"Uh...sure" Riley smiled, before closing her locker and walking off.
