14 || BUNKER

18:57, 30 July 2023

Before Vanessa could even think about going to the Men of Letters bunker, there was something she had to do first. Someone she needed to apologise to for having been a bitch to, and potentially hurting, when she was sulking around and heartbroken. And that person was none other than the King of Hell himself, Crowley.

Crowley had been nothing but helpful and friendly towards Vanessa since she'd arrived in this universe, both himself and Balthazar becoming almost like fathers to her, and she'd went and used that to hurt him. Calling him just a demon, saying he wasn't her father... Which she didn't even know if Crowley thought of himself as, but from the look on his face when she said it, she could only imagine that he did.

This is why Rufus' house, which Vanessa had been staying in the past few days since she made up with Sam and the others, smelled strongly of scones. Scones that the others weren't allowed to touch without Vanessa smacking their hands away and scolding them.

These scones were extra special 'I'm sorry I was bitch' scones she'd made for Crowley in hopes that he might not want to kill her for what she'd said to him. That's if he'd even show up when she called him, which she was getting ready to do.

The guys had eventually left her alone and headed to Bobby's, flying air Castiel, to assess the damage and gather up anything that might make a regular person want to throw them into the nut house for owning.

And so Vanessa waited... and waited... until eventually Crowley appeared in Rufus' kitchen, a seemingly unamused and still slightly hurt look on his face. He wasn't planning on answering her call but he felt like he had to incase it was an emergency, which by the pot of tea and plate of scones sitting on the table, it wasn't.

"Yes?" Was all he said and Vanessa took a breath and swallowed before she spoke.

"I want to apologise for what I said to you during my... mope, as you called it. I didn't mean it and I'm very sorry and I hope you'll accept these scones and I really very hope you don't want to throw me into Hell for being a bitch." Vanessa was practically rambling towards the end which made Crowley's lips tug upwards into what was almost a smile.

"Also I'm sorry I lied to you about Asmodeus." She added quickly, a sheepish smile on her face before she gestured to the table. "Tea? Scone? My soul perhaps?"

"Tea and scones will do just fine." Crowley said to her relief, taking a seat at the table as she poured him a cup of tea, from a China set he could only imagine Balthazar had given her as the flowery pattern on the cup he now held didn't exactly scream Rufus.

"I really am sorry." Vanessa said a little more quieter and guilt ridden. "Truth is... you do kind of remind me of my father, which is probably why you ended up being my favourite character. He used to watch the show with me, him and my sister... They died before season five even ended, they never got to see the end, see the guys defeat Lucifer. I can't imagine how they'd react to finding out it's all real."

Crowley didn't know what to say, he wasn't exactly used to humans pouring their hearts out to him when they didn't expect to sell their souls afterwards, but he couldn't help but feel for the poor girl. The life she lived even before getting pulled here must have been rough, and if he did happen to bring her a little comfort and remind her of her father, then he'd make damn sure that it stayed that way.

After all, he did see Vanessa as the daughter he, let's face it, probably would have never wanted. He wasn't exactly the best father to Gavin so if he could make up for that just a little by forgiving Vanessa, which he did, then he would. Besides, she even looked like what he'd have expected his own daughter to look like had he still been human. The resemblance between her and his mother was uncanny.

"It's forgotten." Crowley waved a hand towards her, as if fanning the situation away. "I'm not one to hold grudges."

Vanessa's eyebrow just arched, her face twisting into one that say 'really?' She seemed to remember that the only reason Crowley died was because of the grudge he held towards Lucifer, which led to his escape (again).

"Anymore... I'm not one to hold grudges, anymore." Crowley corrected, a small smile on his face as he sipped at his tea, which he couldn't help but notice had both honey and a splash of milk, just as he liked. Guess Vanessa knew him better than he thought. "Can I ask, though, how do I die?"

"You kill yourself." Vanessa's tone indicated she wasn't a fan of that particular incident and Crowley couldn't help but feel a strange warmth inside him at the obvious hatred over his death that she seemed to portray.

"Really?"

"Really. It's not easy to kill you, nobody seems to be able to no matter how hard they try."

"Damn right they can't." Crowley said humorously, making Vanessa chuckle a little. "Me reminding you of your father... Is that why you were so nice to me, the first time we met?"

"A little bit, yeah." Vanessa said with a slight head tilt as she sipped her own tea. "That and I always hated the way the boys treated you. Even when you were helping them they were still so unappreciative of you."

"Well it's nice to know I have someone in my corner." Crowley's lips tugged upwards behind his mug before he took a sip, setting it back down on his saucer with a gentle clatter. "I best be off though, I have a lead on a certain Prince you've been looking for."

"You do?" Vanessa got to her feet a little too quickly, the sudden moment shaking the table. She'd honestly given up hope of finding Asmodeus, at least without the demon tablet, which she was hoping Lucifer would spill the location to once she'd apologised to him for ignoring him.

"I do, it's a small one but it may lead somewhere. In the meantime, you and the rest of the Scooby Gang better deal with these Leviathans." Crowley got to his feet, subtly using his powers to box up the remaining scones he'd definitely be taking with him.

"Right. Leviathans." Vanessa gritted, having sort of forgotten about them in the midst of her strop. She was just hoping Edgar wouldn't pop up again anytime soon with another rocket launcher. Or worse.

Crowley left, thanking Vanessa for the scones as the others arrived back, duffel bags full of stuff.

"How'd it go?" Sam asked, watching as Vanessa washed up the dishes.

"Good." She nodded with a smile as she felt Sam approach her, placing a kiss on the side of her head.

"Good." Sam wasn't exactly thrilled with Vanessa's relationship with Crowley either, that girl literally had a devil, two actually, and an angel, two of those as well, on her shoulders, but he knew she wouldn't trust Crowley if she knew he was dangerous. And who better than a girl from the future to tell you who you should and shouldn't trust.

"Man, did Crowley take all the scones?" Dean sighed, slumping into the chair and the table and sulking. He been hoping there'd be leftovers.

"Well, they were for him." Vanessa added, flicking a little water at him and making him frown.

"When are heading to this secret bat cave of yours?" Bobby asked, him, Castiel and Rufus entering the kitchen, Rufus a little grateful that Vanessa was doing his dishes for him.

"I don't know, maybe once I get the location of the demon tablet we can go there." Vanessa replied, drying her hands and ignoring the looks the other were giving her.

"Right, from Lucifer..." Dean spoke up, straightening in his chair. "You know, we're still not exactly thrilled with your little mind guest you know, and before you say anything, we know he's not possessing you... But he's still in your head which means he can hear everything we say and everything we do and I-"

"Oh my God, relax Nagatha Christie. He's locked in a cage, he can't do anything." Vanessa grumbled, spotting Sam's lips roll in amusement at her name for Dean, who wasn't amused.

"First of all, rude. Secondly, how do you know he stays locked up-"

"Because I'm from the future."

"So Lucifer actually stays in the cage, for the last however many seasons after we throw him in?" Dean crossed his arms, eyebrow raised at Vanessa.

"Yes."

"Really?"

"Okay, no. But..." Vanessa began, ignoring the noises of protest those in the room were making. "...I know how to stop him getting out, so it's fine okay. Plus personally, I don't think he'd go down the same path even if he was out."

"Any you know this how?" Bobby asked sceptically, not liking the idea of Lucifer getting back out, not after what they went through to get him in.

"Because he hates the cage, he hates it. Why do you think he left some grace in me? Because he'd rather spend his time in my dreams than in the cage. So, did he ever get out I don't think he'd do anything that would make you try and slam him back in again."

Vanessa made a fair point, but the others weren't exactly about to go bust him out anytime soon, but it did make them feel a little, a very minute, bit better about him being in her head.

"Now, can we please change the topic... Bobby, how's the house?" Vanessa turned to Bobby who sighed a little.

"It'll take some work but I think we can rebuild. Although I may not want to if this bunker you've been rambling on about every since your new pal gave you the key is as good as you say it is."

"Trust me, it's awesome. There's a shooting range, a garage, a huge library, a feckin' war room, armoury and the best part... Dean you'll like this..." Dean's ears perked up at her words. "A dungeon. With... a devils trap the size of the floor and demon cuffs."

"Demon cuffs?" Sam questioned.

"Yep. Handcuffs carved with symbols, making demons powerless and unable to smoke when cuffed."

"Awesome." Dean grinned, feeling even more excited to check the place out. "Can't wait to use them on Crowley, shut his ass up a little."

"Hey. No." Vanessa scolded him, a little like someone would a dog who was trying to sneak food of their plate. "No throwing Crowley in the dungeon. I've already seen him spend plenty of time in there, I'm not watching it happen again."

"Jeez okay." Dean said defensively, holding his hands up in surrender at her warning tone and look. "I won't throw him in the dungeon."

"Good, now... Leviathans, anyone heard anything lately? Bobby, anything from Garth?" Vanessa asked, leaning back on the counter.

"Nothing on my end, I've got people watching Sioux Falls General, but they ain't seen nothing yet." Bobby replied, making Vanessa frown a little.

At this point the little girl Leviathan was supposed to have taken over the doctor one, who'd then go on to be the one who created the weird meat that would turn people into cannibals and Dean into an idiot.

"Strange, but maybe they've just not been acting very Leviathan-y so as to not turn heads." Vanessa nibbled at her nails. "Well Crowley has a lead on Asmodeus so that's something at least, so maybe we can head to the bunker then, give us something to do?"

"Hell yeah." Dean stood up, rather excitedly. "I'll start packing." And with that he ran off, taking Castiel with him to help pack up what little stuff they had here at Rufus'.

"He's eager." Bobby chucked, taking a seat in the one Dean just left.

"Trust me, when you see this place... You'll understand why."

-

Rather than flying air Castiel, the five of them drove to Lebanon. Vanessa was sandwiched in the back between Sam and Castiel as Bobby took the front seat.

Rufus passed on seeing the bunker, for now anyway. He said he needed a break from them after they just showed up at his house and refused to leave. Driving him near crazy.

The drive ahead was long but eventually they reached the bunker. Thankfully Crowley knew the exact location of the bunker, given how he'd tried his hardest many times to get inside, as Vanessa wouldn't have had a clue. She'd have just wandered aimlessly around the small town until she saw something that looked familiar.

"After you." Dean said, the four guys stepping aside and letting the excited Vanessa unlock the door. She was literally shaking with excitement.

"Wait here, I need to power it up first." Vanessa replied, prying open the door with that familiar squeak of its hinges she's heard so much.

The bunker was dark, Vanessa using the small flashlight Sam had given her to find the fuse box, which was next to the small table. The half played chess game and half drunk coffee still sitting on it, those who'd been sitting there called away to the call that ended the Men of Letters.

The lights flickered on, and Vanessa audibly gasped. She could've believe she was actually standing in the Men of Letters bunker. The one place in the whole show she'd loved more than anywhere.

"Can we come in yet? We're dying out here!" Dean called towards her, just as eager to get inside as Vanessa had been.

"Aye, come in." Vanessa replied, the hinges squeaking once again. God she'd never tire of hearing that door and the sound of the Impala's doors.

"Holy feckin' bat cave." Dean mumbled, earning a raised eyebrow from Vanessa.

"That's my word." She mumbled, the word not sounding right when it wasn't spoken in an Irish accent.

Dean didn't even answer, no one did. They were all too in awe with the interior of the bunker. The giant mapped table in the war room, the huge library, that giant telescope Vanessa knew wouldn't work as the bunker was only at half power.

Should she tell the guys there's a wood nymph living in the bunker? She felt kinda bad that she was stuck in there and just wanted to go home. Maybe once they were settled in and Vanessa had found the control room she'd let her go.

Oh and there was also the fact that Dorothy and the Wicked Witch were in a bottle somewhere in this maze of a building. She never quite got the layout of this place correct when she tried to build it in the sims that one time. But again, once they were settled she'd sort that out too.

The all to familiar sound of footsteps on the metal stairs filled the silence as they walked down them, Vanessa immediately running to the library, bursting with excitement.

"I can't believe I'm actually here." Vanessa whispered, running her finger along the dusty bookshelf. "God I can't wait to organise this place into a better system."

"This place is amazing." Sam gazed around the library in awe, the fact that they'd literally have inherited this place was baffling to him.

"Where's this dungeon you said about?" Dean asked eagerly.

"I think it's room... 7B? Don't ask me where that is I have no idea, this place is a maze honestly. All I know is those doors and those doors..." Vanessa pointed to the two doors in the library and the two at either side of the war room. "All lead to a corridor that's like a circle. But not a regular circle, more like a freaky circle."

"Why did you just slip into an Australian accent when you said that?" Dean asked confused, as were the others.

"You'll find out soon." Vanessa waved her hand towards them, she honestly couldn't wait to see Thor Ragnarok again in cinemas. "Now let's go explore."

And explore they did. They saw everything, the dungeon, the garage, shooting range, kitchen, bedrooms, everywhere Vanessa had seen on the show and even places she hadn't. It truly was an incredible place.

"The beds in this place, memory foam." Vanessa told them and Dean gasped a little.

"They'll remember me..." He whispered, grabbing his bag to go and claim his room.

Vanessa remembered Dean saying the exact same thing and she smiled at his excitement, knowing he was going to be thrilled to finally have his own room.

"You not gonna pick your room?" Sam asked, leaning against the table in the library where Vanessa sat. Bobby and Castiel were still checking the place out.

"Don't you mean our room?" Vanessa raised an eyebrow, hoping Sam would want to share a room with her and by the smile on his face, he did.

"Come on, let's go pick out our room." He held out his hand and Vanessa took it, allowing him to pull her off her feet and towards the bedrooms.

"You know in the show you weren't as eager to move in here as Dean was." Vanessa said quietly as she admired her new room, she'd definitely be redecorating. New sheets, a proper duvet, some throw pillows. The works.

"Maybe it's cause I didn't have you to share it with."

"Flirt." Vanessa mumbled, letting Sam pull her close to him, kissing her gently.

"I'm glad you're back." Sam whispered, still feeling some regret that he'd hurt her enough for her to want to go home, to her own universe.

"Me too." Vanessa mumbled against his chest, his giant arms wrapped around her lightly, for once. "I'm glad I didn't go back."

"I am too." Sam kissed the top of her head, her curly hair tickling his nose as he did.

"This is home now. Here. Bobby's. Anywhere so long as you're with me."

"I'll always be with you, Ness. Always." Sam took her face, lifting it towards him before kissing her again.

"What do you say... we christen this place?" Vanessa flirted, enjoying the way Sam's eyes darkened. The next thing she knew, she was thrown backwards onto the bed.

And it was indeed, memory foam.

-slightly shorter chapter today so i apologise, it was mainly a filler one honestly but i hope you still enjoyed it

also i watched the crawl space episode of bobs burgers today and Bob called someone Nagatha Christie, i can't remember who but it made me laugh so hard I had to have Vanessa call someone it, and who better than Dean
