Chapter 30

"Kendall, let her see already." Dustin insisted as Kendall had lead me outside the building with everyone else snickering at our cheesiness.

"Please." I pleaded overwhelmed with excitement. Kendall sighed.

"Okay, well, just so you know, I'm not crazy okay?" He asked me. I was very confused by that. Kendall slowly lifted his hands from my eyes and then he did fully. I gasped.

He had bought a VW Van alright, more like pimped out an old VW hippy van. The bottom of it was turquoise and the top was almost cream colored while it also looked brand new with new chrome as well.

"You're crazy." I mumbled looking at it. I shook my head with a smile that didn't want to leave my lips. Kendall shrugged.

"Only for you baby. Let's get going!" Kendall said smiling. James and Logan piled the luggage in the very back before then getting in the front two seats. Carlos, Alexa, and Dustin then climbed into the newly upholstered turquoise seats in the middle and Kendall and I got in the back.

"Where are we going?" I asked then after James started the van since he was driving. Kendall cleared his throat.

"Alexa can only be away for roughly five days so we're going somewhere semi close." Kendall said. Alexa turned around then and smiled at me as she was sat between Carlos and Dustin.

"Sorry your road trip isn't going to be much of a road trip with such a short time and Gabby not being able to come because of work." Alexa said sympathetically. I shook my head and smiled.

"It's fine. It'll be great." I smiled and touched her hand assuringly. She smiled them turned back around as James was now pulling out of the parking lot. We were headed north, and that's all I could tell. We all made small talk about nothing important what so ever. After three hours on the road, Alexa and Carlos were passed out asleep as Dustin listened to music and James and Logan sat talking about people we passed on the road or about work. Kendall however was very much awake and very much staring at me.

"What?" I asked quietly with my legs across his lap. He shrugged.

"Nothing." He said smiling at me, not even embarrassed for getting caught staring at me. I furrowed my brow.

"Liar. What are you staring at?" I asked him, feeling a little insecure. He smiled and reached out to touch his thumb to my cheek bone lightly before running the back of his fingers down my cheek to my jaw.

"A beautiful view." He said before leaning forward and resting his lips on mine. I shivered at his touch and he took that as a sign that I was cold. His arms wrapped around me and I felt my heart swell. I really was in love with this guy, but I didn't want to be the first one to say it. I feared that this would turn out like my list. 'Fall in love even though it's not for forever'. I didn't want it to not last forever. I wanted it to be worth it. I wanted it to last for as long as I would live. I was head over heels and I did to care who didn't approve, which might've only been a select few.

"I love you." I whispered to Kendall happily content as James was pulling into a rest stop. Kendall straightened up and smiled.

"I love you too babe." Kendall said smirking as we all were woken up and sent to get refreshments and to relieve ourselves. Alexa and I went in together as the guys talked by the van at the gas pump.

"Skittles for Carlos, tortilla chips for Dustin, mini donuts for Logan." Alexa said as we walked up and down the isles in the convenience store and we grabbed stuff for the guys outside.

"Corn nuts for James, and Cool Ranch Doritos for Kendall." I added then. Alexa shot me a smile as we then scoured the store for our own snacks. Alexa grabbed herself some candy as I grabbed a bag of chips for myself while we then fumbled over to the drinks to fulfill the guys' orders and then our own. It was difficult not to drop everything. We stood in line behind about six people as it moved slowly.

"You and Kendall look like you're enjoying yourselves." Alexa smiled holding all seven drinks as I juggled seven different snacks. I shrugged and smiled back.

"We are. You seem to like catching up on sleep with Carlos." I smiled. She looked down sheepishly.

"Yeah, we haven't been sleeping well lately, or together really with work. Sometimes it's nice just to be in the presence of one another while you sleep." She said. I nodded understanding what she meant. When Kendall and I don't sleep over at each other's houses, it's very lonely and I usually wake up every hour, while with Kendall there, I could sleep through the night effortlessly.

We paid for everything and got back to the door as the guys were coming in to use the restroom or stand where the van was parked. Carlos gave Alexa a sweet kiss before passing by her following Logan.

Kendall and Dustin stood leaning against the van talking as James was looking through his suitcase for something. It was chilly wherever we were headed because it was honestly looking like it was going to storm. I walked over to Kendall who smiled at seeing me. Alexa opened the door and hoped in while sitting with the door open to still talk. I handed her the bag and then walked over to a smirking Kendall.

"Where are we?" I questioned as I wrapped my arms around his waist. Kendall kissed my lips sweetly and shrugged.

"We are somewhere where it rains." He said smiling. I glared playfully at him. I turned to look at Dustin.

"Where are we?" I asked him as he smirked. James walked over. He now had his glasses on, which explained what he was looking for. It was two in the afternoon now and seemed to be taking a long time to get to wherever we were headed.

"Don't ask me this and put me in between you two." Dustin said holding up his hands as he had just had them in his pockets to keep them warm.

"I think it's going to storm pretty bad tonight. We won't be able to go all night long. We'll have to stop half way." James said looking up at the sky. I furrowed my brow and turned to him.

"Where are we?" I asked James. He snorted and shook his head. I sighed. "Why can't I know?" I asked. Kendall chuckled and pulled me close kissing my temple. He felt how cold I was. He reached into his back pocket and pulled out his gray beanie.

"You just can't. Now put this on." He said smiling at me and offering me his beanie. I sighed and slid it on over my hair. "Now that's perfect." Kendall said taking out his phone before I could realize what was happening. He snapped a picture of me with my hands still pulling down the beanie and was totally candid.

"Stop." I complained, even though I actually thought it was really cute that after he took it he set it as his phone wallpapers. My stomach fluttered excitedly. Kendall smirked.

"We need someone to take a picture of all of us." Kendall said then taking my hand and pulling me away from the guys and Alexa as we walked inside. Logan was buying a twenty four pack of beer as we walked in. I snorted.

"Feeling frisky I see Logan." I teased as Kendall patted his shoulder and walked over to an older man who was mopping the floor and asked him if he would take our picture outside in front of the van. The man smiled and nodded in agreement. We lead everyone outside as Carlos had came out and found Alexa.

"Guys, we're gonna get a picture." Kendall smiled grabbing his phone and handing it to the older man. We all stood in front of the van. James, Dustin, and Logan all thought it was funny to hug beers as the couples, Carlos and Alexa, and Kendall and myself were cuddled together for the photo.

Kendall's hands held me close by my waist as my arms wrapped around his neck and our cheeks were pressed together with wide smiles on our faces the flash went and then we were loosening our grips on one another. We then all loaded back up as each of the guys gave the man ten dollars a piece and I couldn't help but feel happy about that.

The old man was so grateful and happy about it that I knew it made his day. Kendall settled back in with me in the very back and I hugged him close to me as I laid my head on his shoulder. His chin rested on my head and his arms wrapped around me.

"I love you." He told me. I smiled to myself.

"I love you too." I told him and wished I could've only came up with more to say to explain how much I did actually love him. I also wanted just to tell him that I was totally and fully in love with him, but I held my tongue. James was the only sober guy by the end of the night, since Logan had passed around the beer he had bought. Kendall handed me his card to go get a hotel room. James, Alexa and I walked into the hotel we chose as we left the drinking guys in the parking lot with the van as they yelled and laughed.

"Do you happen to have a three room suite available?" James asked the person behind the desk. The man nodded as James handed over his card.

"Gonna have to keep an eye on Dustin and Logan to make sure they don't choke on their vomit later." James said sighing. I furrowed my brow.

"They only had around four beers each guy, how does that even out to becoming drunk?" I asked him. James looked at me as I then read his and Alexa's expressions. I turned to see the guys walking back from the liquor store across the street to the van. They had another twenty four pack of beer, a few brown bags, and a bag of Fritos. Disgusting.

"I see." I commented before the man handed James three room keys. I sighed as Alexa then went forth with getting hers and Carlos's room. Then it was my turn. "Single room, one queen sized bed please." I smiled nicely. I could see we were still in California by the phone numbers on the pamphlets everywhere, but I was still lost. I wanted to ask the man behind the desk, but I figured that was going to ruin the surprise Kendall was planning for all of us. Alexa and James waited until I paid and then we walked outside were Dustin was almost crying because he dropped his beer just now. I giggled as Alexa grabbed her and Carlos's bags and they headed upstairs.

"Good luck down here." She said to James and I. We smiled and wished her goodnight as she help her drunken husband into the building.

"Don't take him too!" Logan pleaded hiccuping. I furrowed my brow after I realized he was talking to me. "Don't take Kendall away!" Logan hollered taking a sip from his whiskey bottle. I giggled and saw Kendall was dancing next to Dustin now trying to cheer Dustin up after dropping his drink even though they had enough alcohol for all of us combined but was for just them three.

"I won't. I promise." I smiled assuring him and then sighing. "But can we go upstairs to one of our rooms? So I don't freeze?" I asked him. Dustin and Kendall were laughing obnoxiously.

"Yes! Let's go my lady!" Kendall yelled loudly as he walked over stumbling into me as I laughed. James sighed.

"I'll just keep their luggage down here. I'll take yours and mine though." He assured me as I lead the drunken guys upstairs with James following behind with mine and Kendall's suitcase in one hand being pulled behind and then his own smaller one in the other hand. James suggested we go to his, Dustin, and Logan's room where the living area was bigger than Kendall and mine.

We dropped off my suitcase in my room and then continued on down the hall to theirs. James and I were the only sober ones and I felt my IQ going down being around the other three while they were drinking. They were yelling and hollering at one another or they were hysterically laughing, all while ignoring James and myself. James and I sat on his bed in his room with the door open so we could monitor the guys in the living room. Kendall was currently finishing off his own bottle of Whiskey. I sighed.
