2 days later...

I quickly wake up to the sound of my phone ringing. I sit up and brush my hair out of my face with my index finger. I grab my phone off of my desk and answer it.

"GOOD MORNING SAM!" Jace yells into my ear threw the phone.

I yawn. "Good Morning Jace."

I hear his soft chuckle in my ear. "You sound tired."

I yawn again. "I am."

"Well it's 6:45am you should probably start getting ready for school."

I laugh. "Since when do you get up at 6:45am?"

I hear him grin and then whisper. "Since I met you."

Chills rush down my spine. How can a simple statement like that be so death defyingly intriguing? I swear, some of the things that Jace says make me rethink life.

I smile into the phone. "I can't figure out if that was a compliment or a statement?"

"Maybe it was both." Jace whispers.

"Jesus Christ, I can't talk to you anymore. You're too flirty. I got to get ready for school." I say standing up and putting on my slippers.

"Okay. I'll be there at 7:30."

"What? I didn't ask you to pick me-

His laugh cuts me off. "See you at 7:30."

Before I can say anything else he hangs up. I roll my eyes before tossing my phone onto my bed.

I go into my closet and grab my white Star Wars T-Shirt and some light wash shorts that stop just above my knee. I quickly shower and put on my clothes.

I dry my hair and look in the mirror. I should do something different with my hair. It's dark brown, super long and naturally curly. Maybe I could try straighting it? Nah. I'll wait until my date with Billy to try that. I'll just wear it down today.

I put on my white converse, grab my phone and bookbag and then leave my room.

I walk into the hallway to be stopped by complete silence. My mom must have went to work and my dad is probably on another business trip.

Since I've been hanging out with Jace so much lately, I really don't even keep tabs on when my dad goes on his business trips anymore. I hope he doesn't feel like I'm shutting him out.

I walk into the kitchen and see a note tapped to the fridge:

Left for work early. Sorry I didn't get a chance to make breakfast.There's some cereal if you're hungry. Love you! Have a nice day at School! :) 

I set down the note and sigh. She knows a hate cereal. I hear the doorbell ring and immediately run to the door. I look through the peephole and see Jace's dirty blond hair. I open the door and Jace greets me with a smile.

"Hey," I say closing the door behind me and following Jace to his car.

We get in and Jace starts driving.

"Today you should come over so we can study for that upcoming history test." I say.

"History is boring. Why do we have to learn about something that's already happened? We should be learning about the future." Jace smiles.

I laugh. "We can't be taught about the future Jace. It hasn't happened yet."

"Whatever. Stop being so smart."

I grin. "You know you love my smartness. That's why you tolerate me. I'm low key the only girl that you can actually hold a conversation with about real stuff and not Starbucks or clothes."

Jace burst out laughing. "Since when do you do you say low key?"

I lower my voice to a whisper. "Since I met you."

Jace grins. "You're horrible. Don't steal my lines. Just because I said that earlier doesn't give you the right to say it."

I laugh. "Oh and I like your shirt." Jace mumbles.

"Thank you. I've had it for awhile n- wait a second, you like my shirt? You're a Star Wars fan?" I say laughing.

"No I'm not. Football players don't like Star Wars." Jace says bitting his bottom lip.

"You're bitting your bottom lip. That's your tell. YOU DO LIKE STAR WARS!" I say laughing even harder.

"Fine. I do. I've seen all of the movies." Jace says.

I smile. "Same."

I look out the window. We're almost at school. A few minutes go by and we reach the street the school is on. We pass the school entrance and my heart drops.

"Why did we just pass the school?" I say with my voice cracking a little.

Jace grins. "Because, we're not going to school."

"What!? Jace you know I can't miss a day- "

"Chill fam, it's ditch day. Nobody's at school today. Ditch day is everyone's favorite day. It's always lit fuck." Jace says.

"Woah. First off watch your language. Second, I'm down for whatever we're gonna do as long as I'm not marked absent today." I say.

Jace smiles. "I swear to God Sam I love your personality so much."

I blush a little. "Your personality is alright I guess."

Jace laughs."So today you're gonna experience some things you've never experienced before. So get ready for awesome. "

"Surprisingly, I'm ready. One question though, are you only spending ditch day with me or is some else tagging along?" I ask.

Jace laughs. "No one else is allowed to do what we're about to do with me. I can't trust anyone else but you with this adventure."

I widen my eyes sarcastically. "Oooo, I wonder what we're about to do."

"Stop being sarcastic. You're literally the only person I would even take to this place. So you should be feeling special because what we're about to do is siiiiick." Jace says.

I roll my eyes. "Whatever. I bet we're going to the mall and doing lame stuff."

We stop at a stop light and Jace turns to me. He winks, sending chills down my spine. "You're gonna love me when this day is over."

My eyes pop open and I realize the car has stopped. I sit up and look out the window. There's a huge building in front of us that could eat 2,000 malls. I turn to Jace and he grins at me.

"This is where we're gonna spend you're first ditch day." Jace says nudging my elbow.

I roll my eyes and we get out of the car. Jace points to the building. I look at the building and read the giant sigh that's hanging from the entrance.

"Comic Con? You took me to fucking Comic Con? I love you so much!" I say hugging Jace without even realizing it. Even though I can tell he's shocked he hugs back. (A/N: If you don't know, Comic Con is a huge convention that many people attend to experience the feeling of being with all the action, nonfiction, science fiction, anime, super hero, movies and shows. There's people in costumes and book signings and games and movie previews and astronomy shows and everything. It's basically a nerds dream. I've never been but it's definitely something on my bucket list that I'd like to go see.)

"I knew you'd like this. I've been dying to go. I'm a secret nerd. Don't make fun of me." Jace says breaking our hug.

"Why would I make fun of a nerd when I am a nerd? How did you even get tickets? They've been sold out for weeks." I say.

Jace runs his fingers threw my hair. "I bought them awhile ago. But I was debating on going because I didn't have anyone to go with. They've just been sitting in my glove compartment. And when I saw your Star Wars shirt I knew you were the perfect person to go with."

Jace pulls 2 slips of paper with strings attached to them out of his pocket. He puts one around my neck. I look at it gasping in the process.

"You got V.I.P passes? These are so expensive. With these we can do everything in there for free. The only thing we'd have to pay for is food."

"Cool right? And I got something else."

Jace walks to the back of his car and opens up his truck. He pulls out 2 masks. He hands me one that has flowers on it that only covers my eyes. I put it on and he puts on a Batman mask that only covers his eyes.

"What are these for?" I ask.

"So we can be in costume. It's cool to be undercover sometimes. Ya know what I mean?" Jace says closing the trunk.

I laugh. "I know what you mean."

We walk threw security and are quickly able to go into the building because of our V.I.P passes.

We walk into the huge building and my eyes pop at the sight of thousands of people in extravagant costumes and props from famous movies and booths set up with different themes and colors and nerds and just complete awesomeness.

I look over at Jace who is just as stunned as I am.

It's loud in here but not that loud where you'd have to yell to talk to the person next to you.

"Where do we start? There's so much stuff in here that I'm dying to see." I ask looking around some more.

"It's 9am and this ends at 8pm. We can do whatever we want." Jace exclaims.

I laugh at all his excitement. I've never seen him so comfortable and happy before.

"Let's go to the Star Wars booth." I say pointing.

We go over to the booth and instantly get free merch and autographs. We take a few selfies with Chewbacca and then go straight to the Cartoon Network station.

We're greeted by people in costumes. Rigby and Mordecai from regular show come over to us and Jace starts fangirling.

"Can we take a " Oooooh" Video with you guys?" Jace asks the people in costumes. They nod and Jace smiles.

I pull Jace to the side. "What is an " oooooh" video? "

"Ooooohhh" is their catchphrase. They say it all the time in their show. They cover their mouth with one hand and then hold up their other hand and yell "ooooohhhh" I know it sounds stupid but let's do it. Remember, you only live once." Jace says grinning.

I laugh and then agree. Jace hands his phone to a guy in a Steven Universe costume and he records us.

After we finish the video we take a picture with the guy in the Steven Universe costume. We get more merch and then I spot Finn and Jake from adventure time.

"Jace look there's Finn and Jake!" I say.

They walk over to us and we take more pictures and receive more merch. After deciding we have too much merch we go put some in the car.

As soon as we're back in the building we head straight to the super hero section and Jace dies.

"Look Sam there's Batman!" Jace yells.

I laugh and we walk up to him and Jace is literally shaking while taking the pictures. After that we pose with Superman and Wonder-Women. We get more autographs and merch.

I grab Jace's arm and he puts his other arm around my shoulder. "Ya know it's cute how you're such a fanboy." I say.

He laughs. "It's cute how you're such a fangirl."

A guy with a camera walks over to us. "Hey can I get a few pictures of you guys? I'm writing a article about the Comic Con and I wanna include a few pictures of the whole experience thing." He asks.

I look at Jace and he nods. Jace poses like Batman while I laugh. The guy shows us the picture.

"Hey can you send that to me?" Jace asks.

"Of course. I'll email it to you. It's really candid. You guys make a really cute couple." He says.

Jace starts blushing and I laugh. "We're not a couple. We're just Best friends. " I say.

The camera man winks. "Well I ship you two." After that he walks away.

We quickly brush off what he said and continue having fun.

"You know what'd be crazy funny?" Jace asks, grinning.

"What?"

"If we went into the drag queen booth and took pictures with them." Jace says laughing.

I shake my head. "We can't Jace. That's too crazy."

He grins again. "You said you were down for anything today?"

I shrug and Jace pulls me along with him into the drag queen booth. I cover my mouth as soon as I see a guy in a mini shirt and glittery bra come up to me.

I grab Jace's arm for protection and whisper in his ear. "Oh my god, their guys and they're so pretty."

Jace laughs. "This is crazy. We shouldn't have came in here."

Another guy in a big pink dress with feathers on it wearing a wig comes up to us. He rubs Jace's face.

"I'm Maggie. You're cute." He says.

"Thank you and if you could excuse me we're leaving." Jace says. We bolt out of the booth in tears from laughing so hard.

"I knew you wouldn't be able to last in there." I say.

Jace runs his fingers threw his hair. "I shouldn't have went in their knowing that a hottie like myself would get attacked."

I laugh. "Oh my god, shut up."

Jace laughs. "I'm only kidding. We should rent a locker for all our merch."

"Yeah my arms are dying." I say. We quickly rent a locker and continue going to different booths and meeting different people.

I spot a 4D Star Wars simulation ride and we get on it. It lasts for about 5 minutes. After we get out Jace is hyped.

"That was Siiiiick!" Jace yells.

I grab his arm to calm him down. "Chill out. But it was pretty cool." I say laughing.

We go into a anime booth and take peace sign selfies with Pokémon and anime girls. Even though we both hate anime but yolo right?

After that we go enter a lazer tag competition and dominate. When we finish that we go to a food stand and eat.

After going to more booths and taking more selfies time flies and people start leaving and we realize Comic Con is ending.

We grab our merch and walk to the car. We put the stuff in the trunk and get in.

"It's crazy how I'm so comfortable being myself around you, Sam." Jace says laughing.

I smile. "Today was the best day ever and I love you." I say buckling my seatbelt. That's probably the most straight forward thing I've ever said to him but right now, I don't care.

And with no hesitation he says it back. "I love you too."
