Chapter 42

Piper's POV

I thought hearing about Gaea was the big surprise of the day, then Leo came back to life, and now he was standing in front of me.

"Jason," I said his name unable to believe it.

"How long?" I asked.

"A few years," he said, "I heard you guys succeeded and the emperors were defeated."

"Yeah, a lot has happened," Frank said, "Hazel because Praetor after Reyna left, and before Camp was destroyed, we built the temples you planned."

"They were beautiful," Hazel said.

"That's good," He said awkwardly.

"Well now that that's taken care of, are you prepared to start on a plan?" Archí said, as if it was a normal occurrence for two friends to come back from the dead.

"First, are there any more surprises we should be prepared for?" Chiron asked.

"I don't believe so," Archí said, "Now, while we don't have all of the seven-," He was cut off by a loud commotion outside.

"What now?" Hazel wondered.

Everyone started for the door, but Leo stopped me before I could follow.

"About Calypso, how has she been?" He asked. I could tell he felt awful about hiding from her.

"About as well as could be expected during a war and exile I guess," I said, perhaps a little harshly. He had let us believe he was dead not once, but twice! And then Jason did too.

"Please don't tell her yet," He asked, "I want to do it myself."

I studied him for a minute. Calypso deserved to know he was alive, but it would be better coming from him, "Fine, but you have to tell her soon, or else I will."

"Deal," He said with his old smile returning before he put his mask back on, "Now, after you Beauty Queen."

I rolled my eyes at him and followed the others.

Stepping outside I saw a couple of soldiers trying to restrain a boy, was that Jessie? A few campers were trying to help him. I saw Will walking up to one of the soldiers and saying something to them.

"What's going on?" Hazel asked, and then turned to Jason, who also had his mask back on, "Tell them to release the poor kid!"

The two co-commanders shared a look. What were they hiding?

"Is there a reason your men are holding one of my campers like a prisoner?" Chiron asked as he joined us.

"We have reason to believe he is working with the person who destroyed the Titans," Archí said.

"We already knew that, he told us so himself," I said.

"No, we mean he is still working with them," Diana explained. Something in her voice didn't sound right though, and the look she shared with Archí, something wasn't right.

"They're lying!" Jessie shouted before one of the soldiers clapped his hand over the boy's mouth.

"I would like to hear the boy's story," Chiron said in way you could tell it was not a request.

After a tense moment Archí nodded to the soldiers and they removed their hand, but they did not release the boy.

"What do you have to say child?" Chiron asked as he approached the boy.

"The soldiers are lying to you, they're working with Glitter, they want to destroy the world."
